I'm a danish citizen trying to by a digital camera to my daughter who for the time being is living in Dallas. Several stores did not support non-US citizens, but Abe's of Maine did, just fine. But I could not whrite Denmark as my home address and I could not whrite the right expiery date for my Visa card. And still my order isn't processed because they now tell me that the money transaction will not function. I've used my Visacard on the Net both before and after this actual net-shopping. So they've got a problem with foreign Visa cards, but they otherwise try to do their best - though to me it would be far more easy to get and send informations about the problems on email in stead of telefone - and much cheaper: 800 numbers are not billingfree for non-US citizens. The TV ordered was delivered via the trucking company used by Abe's exactly one week after placing the order. This actually exceeded my expectations.
At the same time I also placed an order for a Yamaha receiver to be shipped UPS Ground. After repeated calls (daily) and being told each call that the product was due to ship that day, I became fed up and sent an email to the service manager. They replied in less than one day appologizing and saying that the error was at one of their suppliers. As I had requested, they offerred to cancel my order for the receiver issuing me a full refund as well as an additional amount to cover my inconvenience. While I am not happy with the earlier problems, I was very pleased with the prompt, courteous response to my complaint. Read more

I ordered over the internet because when I did a search you had the best price and your customer rating was excellent.I assumed my order was shipped as I gave you my info at time of purcxhase and I received an order number. When I received a message from your co. I didn't know what was wrong and I called back several times and only got the voice mail of your contact. I left messages and did not hear back. I called again and the contact was out that day so I asked the person I was speaking to about it. She explained that they had a problem with my charge going through. She put me into someone else that said that there was no problem and that they would ship immediatly. I order many things via internet especially over the Holidays. I never have a problem. Found the product on CNET. Abe's was the lowest price, by $70.00. I thought because I was saving so much that the product might come late, or be damaged, or the service would be poor, but that certainly wasn't the case. The day after my order, I received a call from Abe's to confirm the sale, and the rep even suggested a couple other items with very good reasons why I should probably get them. The price on the SD card wasn't as good as it could have been, but that was only by $10 or $15 so I still saved over $50.00. The case he suggested is nice, and it actually fits the camera. They shipped via UPS, and I actually got it a day early. I would definitely recommend this store, and I'll use it again when I'm looking for other electronics they carry. Read more
