Adorama Online Store

For reasons I never have understood, Adorama seems to come up so-so in the ratings. I've been doing business with them for years, and have always had good experiences.

Questions were answered promptly, the follow up calls were great and the orders were shipped on time and complete. Overall a great experience.

Where I am located we do not have any local photography stores that carry any kind of inventory. It is mostly supplies like film and batteries. I have used Adorama for most of my photographic purchases from cameras to film. I have bought 2 cameras, 3 lenses, and multiple filters, reflectors, ect. through adorama. I have never had a problem navigating the website or with my order. Delivery tracking and speed were accurate and on time. My orders have always come complete. They are also packed well with clear packing slips. I have never had any damage to product that I have received from Adorama. I have never had a problem with adorama so it has not been necessary for me to contact customer service. Overall I am very satisfied with the service that I receive from adorama.

I was looking for the adapter ring and UV multi glass filter. I didn't have any problems with sopping at this store, items were received on time and as described. I would shop there again.

My first experience with Adorama was very good. Considering before I bought anything from them I "considered" doing business with http://www.usaphotonation.com/ because they were advertizing some "too good to true" sale packages. As you know if it's too good to true then it probably is. Thank goodness for intelligent friends. A friend checked out USA Photo Nation at http://www.resellerratings.com/store/ and this gives the customer rating for a business. Long story short USA Photo Nation is a scam and should be arrested. I then checked the rating for Adorama as do with everyone since and Adorama had a good rating and built my confidence. I ordered 2 lenses and 2 hoods from them and received them in a timely manner and I will recommend other people to do business with them. I will in the future.

In the last 60 days I have purchased a Contax SL300RT, an Olympus C-8080, and various other items. Service, delivery, promptness: All excellent. I ran into a glitch with Amazon.com; they were the "portal" to Adorama, and they were an obstacle. Amazon.com prefers emails rather than phone calls - Adorama answers the phone, listens, responds. I tried to give my business to a local photo company, National Camera. They have an excellent reputation, but their prices were just too far above Adorama's to justify supporting the local vendor. I gave them the chance to work with me on the cost, but they declined. I've dealt with Circuitcity.com: okay, but not as user-friendly as Adorama.com. My conversations with Adorama have been with New Yorkers, with Circuitcity.com, I suspect I was conversing with someone overseas, with less familiarity with the product. My recommendation (admittedly I am an amateur photographer) would be to trust Adorama.com for your photographic needs.

I've done business with Adorama for over 20 years and have always been satisfied. Friendly helpful and fast shippers.

I recently ordered a Nikon D300 and adorama grip online.  I ordered it on Saturday and received them on the following Thursday.  Adorama had one of the best prices, it was shipped ontime and was packaged very well.  I have used them in the past and will continue to in the future.  And if you have been considering this camera it is still an excelent choice.

My Kenko 2X Tele extender was delivered in only two days - just in time for Christmas. I've never had any problems with Adorama and they will always be my first choice in camera supplies.

I was very pleased with the service we received from Adorama online store. Would order from them again in a heartbeat. i ordered it on one day then got it the next. Most places I've ordered from take me a month to get things.

I have had several good orders placed and received from Adorama. However, that is the least one should expect. It is those orders when you feel you are being cheated that bug the mess out of me, such as ordering the Canon 20d battery grip (new price) and receiving a used one complete with dust all in the battery compartment, and incomplete with all the parts and instructions that should have come with it. I returned it and with two weeks having gone by I still have heard nothing from them and have received no credit. I have confirmed they received the return through my shipper but have heard nothing from them. Thus my opinion of them is not real good at this time.

DO NOT... DO NOT... buy any used equipment from this company... you will never get it. I ordered a used Sigma lens for what I thought was a great price... but don't trust them... they canceled the order stating the lens did not function... why didn't they test it before they put it up for sale? They gave it a rating of an 8 which is average condition... They were full of crap...

I have bought many, many items from B&H and have zero problems... sigma4less is also a good place to do business.

I would eat glass before buying on-line from these guys again.

I try to use Adorama for all of my many photographic purchases.  Orders are processed and shipped promptly.  Often I receive orders within a few days of placing them, even without expedited shipping.  I have sold my used equipment and purchased both new and used equipment.  I have always been please with the product received.  And the prices haven't been beat anywhere.  I've given up Ebay for any camera equipment.  With Adorama, you get it cheaper than at auction, you get a tested product that lives up to its rating, and you get it quick.

Adorama has great prices, no argument there. My problem with them is shipping & handling. I'm in the military and reside in Germany. I have a military APO address that can accept normal USPS shipping. What most online retailers do, is charge you the USPS first class price, which I have no problem with. What I do have a problem with, is Adorama charging MORE THAN DOUBLE what should be charged to ship to me!

Example: I ordered a compactflash card, spare battery and a copy of Adobe Photoshop. Total for shipping with Adorama via USPS first class? $49.50. The same items through B&H with the same shipping is $16.95!

I priced out a tripod on both sites with Adorama wanting to bill me $66.00 shipping, while B&H would of charged $24.95.

Is Adorama cheating military personnel? You be the judge! I'm definitely using B&H for all of my photo needs!
