Adorama Online Store

Beware: an online purchase order for a small item (US$30) elicited a fast response from a representative regarding my credit card expiry date. I corrected this immediately. Thereafter, the Adorama web site indicates that the order has shipped. The shipping price was a slightly dearer price than the purchased item. The transaction was about six weeks ago (end of October, 2003). Normal delivery time from the USA or the UK to east coast Australia is about five days.

I managed to contact an Adorama representative once. I was advised to contact my local post office, and that Adorama didn't have a tracking number at their end. All email correspondence since the initial query has been ignored by Adorama. One can only be thankful that the order was a minor one, and no great loss financially. However, I resent being conned, robbed, and then ignored. Good luck!

Super nexperience. Great reputation of dealer and quick delivery after ordering. Enjoy knowing that the prducts will be reliable and if problems exist they will be dealt with.

Attention Epinions.com shoppers: Beware of Adorama's false claims. Customer service lied to me, they said that my order was shipped out yesterday but my email, with tracking, is showing that it was shipped out today, which is 3 full days from when my order was placed. So, I don't know why they charge so much for 3 day UPS when now it's going to be six days, not counting the weekend, when I will receive my order. P.S. I've placed plenty of orders, totaling a few thousand dollars, worth of photo equipment with B&H Photo, and they're a lot cheaper for 3 day UPS and their prices are about the same or better, and I haven't experience any problems with delivery. I thought I had placed my order in plenty of time, early Monday morning, to receive it before leaving on vacation Saturday so I guess it's tough luck. Next time, if I ever order from Adorama, I will order two weeks in advance and maybe they will be on time, of course I expect they will still charge me 3 day UPS.

I have found that the Adorama site constantly labels products as being "In Stock" that aren't available. In the past I have cancelled orders that their telephone sales staff has assured me would be in stock "next week".

Going to the store isn't any better:
If you need to look at multiple products, want product information, or require any type of Customer Service you've come to the wrong place. The staff at Adorama is INCREDIBLY RUDE and unwilling to help customers that they're not familiar with. Yes, they stock a variety of different products at a reasonable price, but so does B&H Photo.

Save yourself the headache, SHOP ELSEWHERE!

This was my first experience with Adorama. They came into my view via an online shopping bot that pointed to them as the low-priced option. I checked the site several ways and found them to have good ratings at several rating services so I bought the camera filters. They had a great price.

The items were ordered on a Saturday night. The site said they worked on normal business days however by Saturday night I had a confirmation and an order number. On Monday night I received my shipping information and it was delivered to my house on Wednesday. I am very satisfied with the prompt service, the e-mail order-status information I received, the earlier-than-expected delivery and the accuracy of order fulfillment.

I would order from Adorama again and have added them to my shopping favorites despite the fact that I use shopping assistants like Epinions to find the best prices at highly rated stores.

They had the best price, but they put me through such a ridiculous cycle of e-mail correspondence in order to verify the shipping address, it hardly seemed worth it. They didn't want to ship to me because my phone is unlisted. They also wouldn't call me to verify any information, they would only e-mail. This delayed the order by several days.

I have been buying products off of Adorama for several years, as usual they sent me exactly what I wanted for a great price. The only thing that went wrong was with UPS misrouting my package, but it had nothing to do with Adorama's part in the process. If I had more money, I would be buying more equipment for photography from Adorama. They are first on my consumer confidence list for purchasing on the internet or off line. I have never had a single problem with any order ever since I began using Adorama several years ago. Thanks, Bill

I continue to be positively impressed with Adorama's Online Store. I have purchased from them a number of times. Each time, the order process has been easy, the product has been in stock and shipped promptly, and the order has arrived on time or earlier. The order accuracy has been 100%. My overall satisfaction is very high.

I have purchased close to $9,000 in camera equipment from Adorama and they have always been courteous, knowledgeable and reliable.

I will always use them in future.

First rate service. Had an item that I could not find anywhere. Salesperson located the item immediately and I had it within 1 week even with coast to coast delivery. Nothing but praise!

I recently purchased a digital slr camera and flash from Adorama. I did not hesitate to order from them because I have placed several orders with them over the past few years and I have never had a negative experience. In fact, they have resolved some minor issues for me quickly and graciously. Their good service to me will keep me as a customer. While their prices are not the lowest around, the knowledge that I am dealing with a reliable merchant is more than worth the few extra dollars.

Camera came in used box (clearly had been opened numerous times to the point where the box folds were worn and flimsy). Camera was advertised as "Brand New" - obviously not the case.

I wrote customer service the following message:

"My camera arrived yesterday and I only have one question - Is this a brand new, factory sealed product? The box (not the shipping box) looked like it had been opened numerous times and camera and lens protective bags weren't even sealed. I thought we were getting a good price for a brand-new camera, but I don't think this camera is new. Are you selling refurbished cameras as new? I'm very disappointed..."

And their reply:

we apologize for that but this is a brand new item.

Excellent shopping experience.  Was able to easily find the product I was looking for, along with several other accessories.  The prices were pretty reasonable as well.  Order arrived on time with no issues - would purchase from them again.

I always shop Adorama for all my digital photography needs. In addition to great prices, they have a huge selection and delivery is always timely.
