Altrec is "off track"

I ordered a sleeping bag by Marmot and the order was put in a "pending" status, (I've never heard of that from a company, especially online). I never recieved a receipt nor any communication about my order. I called Altrec several days later because I thought they e-mailed me with a tracking number and I deleted it. To my surprise, they informed me the order I placed did not go through w/the vendor. The vendor was out of stock of that item and "supposedly" Altrec sent me an e-mail stating such. So, I placed another order for the same sleeping bag, (except the zipper on the other side) again my order was placed as "pending". After 48 hours I called and they explained to me how their company worked. I cancelled the order. They, "Altrec" wasted my time and the customer associate I spoke with could of cared less. I am ordering from another company. If they don't have it, they let you know and their shipping is fast. Forget this wait and see stuff....

poor customer service re:price match

Very unsatisfactory experience, tried to price match, they said they would need to verify product was same season, model, colour and I completely understand that, however they got back to me and said they had spoken to competitor and item was not the same. I called competitor a few minutes later only to have them confirm through their buyers that the item was exactly the same, brought this to their attention and all they could say is "we rely on information other dealer supplies", I am not sure how reliable their "price match" is when an ordinary shopper can obtain more information about a product than their own customer service rep. Hmmmm.... Campmore had way better price, and found several other sites that had better prices too!

Great selection, poor return policy

It was easy to order. But to return, they won't exchange. Have to do it as separate invoices. The selection is great, but their return policy is more finicky than bigger companies. To me, convenience is the reason to shop on the web.

Great customer service. I emailed them after I found lower prices at other online stores and they contacted me via email immediately. I was given a direct number and even though I had to leave a message, they called me back within minutes. I spoke with an associate named Nolan and gave him the other sites and price information, and he happily matched every one. I would definitely recommend ordering through Altrec!

I ordered 4 pairs of snow-shoes a week before Christmas, and took a chance that the free ground shipping would reach me by Dec 24th. The next day, I realized how foolish it would be to rely on ground shipping from West coast to East coast this late so I called Altrec customer service to upgrade to 2 day shipping. The good news was that my complete order had shipped within 12 to 24 hours of being placed, the bad news was that it was too late to upgrade to faster shipping (I was warned not to expect the order in time for Christmas). The best news was that the complete order still arrived by noon on the 24th! Perfect timing, we're very happy with our buying experience!

Cheap Prices, Impressive Packing/Shipping

I ordered a North Face backpack, and it shipped the next day. I received it on time 2 days later with no problems. The backpack came in a giant box, with lots of padding. I was surprised that Altrec didn't stuff my backpack into a tiny box to save space and $$ as I had paid for the cheapest shipping. These guys really know how to impress, and their prices are some of the best too! I opened the box and found out that they even included a free fleece headband - and in navy blue, not yellow or something that would make you believe it was overstock and couldn't be sold. The next time I want to search for a backpack or jacket, I'm heading over to Altrec.

Altrec will rip you off and ignore your inquiries

Altrec has misleading pricing schemes. You purchase a product to discover there is a 20% mark up on the tag once you get it. Their customer service has no response when questioned about this. The product delivers quick, but their customer service is horrible.

my shopping experience at first run my order it was ok and easy, until i had to wait 3 weeks for my pkg to arrive because someone at altrec as made mistake in writing my address,complaing did nothing,my pkg should have been deliver in 7 days,i definetely had a negative experience,i will not buy from them again.

Great luck. Had to wait a while for one item out of 4, but prices and selection were great, and return on the one item I chose not to keep was easy. Had good luck with online customer service. Would definitely order from them again.

Great Price Match and Customer Service

Customer sercie and "Price Match Plus" are AWESOME at Altrec.com. I recently ordered a pair of Oakley sunglasses in which Altrec matched the price from another website PLUS they gave me 5% on top of the savings. They offered free shipping as well. After placing my order, I found Oakley sunglass case that I wanted so I called back Dave F. (who helped me initially). He took my payment information, gave me FREE shipping and was super efficient and friendly. You can't ask for better customer service, product selection, or prices than at Altrec.com. I have become a loyal customer!! Thanks Guys!

I'm not happy with my order. I ordered a product that was listed in stock and 24 hours later I get a phone call message saying that the product is NOT in stock and my order was cancelled. I wasn't even given the option of backordering. They said to reorder in 2-4 weeks. No thanks, I'll go somewhere else.

Handles return of equipment well

I have ordered several times from Altrec and received prompt delivery. The customer service is very helpful and knowledgeable about the products. One item I ordered went on sale the next week so I wrote an email asking for the sale price. My account was credited, although Altrec failed to contact me. However, their willingness to give me the discounted price was great. I will continue to order from them in the future.

Unprofessional, fraudelent company. Where's my jacket?!

I will probably never do business with Altrec. I ordered a jacket on December 14 and still haven't gotten it. I received confirmation emails that my ordered was confirmed and that it was being shipped. When it still didn't arrive on Xmas Eve, we looked up the tracking number, only to discover that it had been sent to an address in NY! I emailed the customer servie rep Dave F., and explained the situation. He emailed me back syaing the "items (2), we shipped and signed for, if I had any more questions to call him". Since then we have left numeroues phone messages and emails and haven't heard back from them. Meanwhile I ordered one item, my credit card has been charged, and on top of this I paid for shipping!
Currently I have been on hold for almost 15 minutes waiting to speak to someone. Think twice about buying from Altrec.
