This is not a website I normally think of when I am planning a vacation online, but have used them before for road trips and discovered some great hotel deals planning my last trip. We went to New Orleans and found hotel deals that I couldnt even find on the other sites (ie Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, etc.) If you're a member, dont forget to look for some great deals on the AAA online site.

The web site has been getting better year after year. The newest and best feature is the on-line driving trip planner (trip-tik) that you can print out. Plus you can see the hotels along the route and make reservations on-line. I am still old fashion and still like to get my tour books, maps and trip-tik via the mail that you can order on-line and will arrive in a few days (although the official line is 10 business days).

I have used the on-line hotel reservation system to narrow my hotel search to ones that have good location, reasonably priced (with the AAA hotel discount) and are well maintained. I have compared prices and the AAA discount is better than hotel.com, travelocity, expedia etc.

You can order discounted theme park tickets on-line. For example the price of a 3-day ticket to Busch Gardens Williamsburg and/or Water Country USA was the same for a 2-day ticket at the Busch Gardens web-site.

If you take family trips every year the convenience of doing on-line research and ordering items at AAA is well worth the yearly fee.

The site continues to improve, as I have used it since its inception. I only rent cars though., specifically the hertz discount often beats everyone on the airport. I don't use them for Hotels or Airfare because its too frustrating.

Their maps and tour book ordering is flawless and fast delivery.

The Insurance triple A provides is pretty good. I do not pay that much for decent coverage. However, the customer service is horrible. The cancelled my plan for no reason last year. I called up when I received the letter. They made a mistake and I had to spend a hour again creating another insurance policy.

Avoid this travel agency. It is very expensive, and does not get discounts for you.
It is too busy to help you, and there is no customer service.
I have used them twice, but never again.
