Music clubs, with their offers to get a whole bunch of CDs with little or no commitment to future purchases, often seem too good to be true. Like many of you out there, I have given into the temptation on more than one occasion, signing up for my...
Buy one CD, get 12 free and 500 MyPoints to boot!!!. Wow what a deal. Truth be told, I don’t remember the exact deal I signed up for at BMGmusicservice.com. I started with the buy one, get 12 free and somewhere along the line I think I bought another...
I am sorry I have to write this review. During the 2+ years I have written for epinions I have come across companies that behave unethically, companies that misrepresent what they sell or do and in the case of BMG a company that purposely misled me....
Pros: 12 CDs for price of one, responsive, yes responsive, customer service Cons: Shipping costs; somewhat awkward website
Music has always been a love of mine. Beautiful music can pick me up out of a poor mood, sooth me while driving in Los Angeles bumper to bumper traffic, and relax me after an insane day at work. I enjoy a wide variety of music from classical to folk,...
If you are like me then you long ago tired of the artificially high cost of music CD’s available at your local retailers like Target, Best Buy, Tower Records, Borders, Wal-Mart etc. But I love music of all genres, and I own hundreds of CD’s but ...
Pros: Pay for one CD get 12 free Cons: Make sure to tell them you don't want the featured selection
I know I am not the only one who remember's using Columbia House and BMG in the past. I never could remember to send those postcards back in when I didn't want the featured CD and I would always end up with it my mailbox and then have to send that back...
Music fans are always faced with dilemmas when it comes to choosing CDs. There are always more CDs I want than I can afford. Music clubs offer intriguing prospects like 12 CDs for the price of one. Or some similar offer. You just have to pay full...
I noticed that there are a lot of opinions here, and I haven't read them all, but I might as well share my experiences with BMG, in hopes they'll prove useful too. I joined BMG music service a little more than 4 years ago. I guess I should note ...
I decided to write this review after reading about the negative experiences with BMG that some other reviewers have had. I thought it might help to provide some information about what to expect from this and other CD clubs, as well as what to avoid and...
Years ago, if I saw an ad that told me that you get 12 cds for the price of 1, I would have thought that the advertiser was crazy. But what I found out was, it isn't so free once you decide to listen to the ad and join. BMG is a music store which ...
BMG Music is one of the best ways to purchase your music online if you are like me and live in a small town where the nearest music store is 20-30 miles away and don’t shop much. I’ve been a part of BMG off and on since 1993, from the moment I became a...
I've been a member since 1999. Originally I had the same hesitations about joining as some of the other reviewers: suspicions about poor service and getting stuck with a commitment to buy high-priced items after an initial, too-good-to-be-true offer. I...
I have been a member of BMG for more than 7 years now, and I still find this club to be an excellent way for me to get the music I want at the price I like. In all the years I have been a member I have only bought about five cds at full price, which ...
While you are able to get a good price on CD's there are a few things I would like to note form my own recent experience. There are restrictions on the free CD's that you can receive. I wanted to get some newly released CD's, but those were only able ...
Pros: Great deals on cd's, easy to use site, lots of selections! Cons: None that I have found after using this service for 3 years.
I have been using BMG music service for several years. I started long before they had a web site.
The addition of the web site has made this a much better, customer friendly place to purchase your music.
Since the web site there is no longer a...
Pros: 12 CD's for the price of 1; thousands of CD's to choose from Cons: featured selections they will constantly send you
If you're a cheap bastard like I am, chances are you've heard of, considered joining, and/or already have joined BMG music service at least once. And chances are if you tried it, you eventually got frustrated, and quit. You probably also came...
Their customer service needs to get their act together. I've had two issues with my account thus far. The first issue came when I attempted to fufill my "agreement" by purchasing a CD at full price. There's a code you must enter to do this. Well, I tried ...
I had an issue with a CD I did not received and because I set up my account for mail and billing (no credit card info ever given) the matter eventually went to a collection agency. I explained the matter to the agency and they sent a disputed claim to...
Well they keep advertising 7 free cd's everywhere.. but is it really free? the shipping costs for the first 7 cd's amounts to about 20 dollars... then you have to buy one selection within an year... (which if you buy would cost about the price of a ...
well as far as online stores go i have to say B M G is way at the bottom. their system is very good though. i can hop and and find darn near any cd i want to find. it helps me look things up in all kinds of ways. the checkout and pick a cd system is ...
Worst customer service experience of the decade -- worse than the cable company, so it's BAD. Slow shipping time on all orders, but first order extremely slow -- it got lost in the mail -- not their fault but they wouldn't replace the CD in a timely ...
My experience with BMG Music Service has been a negative one overall. If you have no reason to modify your personal information or cancel your account you shouldn't have any problems. I, however, have tried twice to cancel my account with no ...

Pros: 12 CD's for the price of one. Decent selection. Cons: Don't keep track of what they tell their customers and they blame them for it.
I started using BMG.com in 1999 and was a very good customer. I always remembered to make sure I wanted the featured selection and canceled it before it was sent so there was no problems there. However, I used the store to purchase some Christmas gifts...
Pros: Great way to build a collection, cheap gifts Cons: Those darned feature selection
My college roommates first told me about the BMG service. They were in the middle of building what has to be one of the biggest CD collections I have ever personally encounterd. They must have had in the neighborhood of 2000 -3000 CD's.
I've been a member of BMG's music club since 99, and still love it. Occasionally they send me the stupid featured selection thing and i have to return it, and the junk mail is a bit annoying, however if you take them seriously it is a very good deal....
Pros: Convenience. Speed of delivery. Cons: Limited selection.
I signed up for BMG and have had nothing but excellent service from them since the beginning. They have always been very patient with my bills, and have always shipped promptly. The only problem I have with them is their limited selection. I am mostly...
Pros: Available anywhere you live and the opening offer is great! Cons: Shipping and handling is rather high!
I joined BMG last year and have so far only had good experiences with them. Although, there is one thing that I consider to be on the down side. That is the cost of shipping and handling, which I consider to be on the high side.
I have been a member of BMG for three years now. Every time I decide I don't need anymore CD's, they send a "buy one get three free" or some other offer too good to turn down. Along with that, you get a coupon for a $5.99 CD with every purchase! Even...
Pros: Customer Service is excellent, suitable offers, easy to navigate through site Cons: Shipping needs to improve takes to long, needs more music
BMG is a great music service, but just like every other music service, could use some work. They give great offers and they have a lot of music to choose from. They need alot more. I have been a member for 3 years and nothing ever gets changed. The 1...
IT IS A VERY EXPENSIVE STORE THEY GET YOU ON THE FIVE OR SIX FREE CD'S THAT YOU ARE EXPOSE TO GET THEY SAY THAT UR EXPOSE TO GET THEM FREE I UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR EXPOSE TO ORDER SO MANY IN THE YEARS TIME TO GET THEM FREE BUT THEY KEEP ON GOING AND GOING ...
I've been buying from BMG Music Services off and on for about five or six years. It does take a bit of time for your first shipment to arrive, but all in all, it is worth the wait. Two things make this company stand far apart from it's arch rival that is...
The prices are great, and the selection's fairly wide. The shipping usually takes 2-4 weeks, but the prices and availability usually make up for the delays in shipping and processing. Often they have very good deals on products and/ or...
Any time I have had to contact customer service they have always responded quickly and courteously. Shipping time is quick and they offer great member discounts. If they had more selections I would buy all of my music from...
They are the greatest. I have always loved having them as my music provider. The sales are great the customer service people are fantastic. every thing is on time or early.
Bad...NEVER use them AGAIN! by retro_kawboy ,Nov 03 '05
BMG SUX! Buy your cd's at Walmart or rip them off online. Anyplace but this place. I have purchased $50. worth of CD;s from them and still have not recived my "free" CD's.
I would and probably will do it again, several times. by drewycp ,Jan 25 '05
I actually like this thing. You can get like 7 CDs for the price of 1 and then you can cancel after you buy one CD at regular price. I've done this before, and I got a couple requests to reactivate my account in the mail after I terminated my subscription, but I just sent another letter and they stopped sending stuff. I don't know why people don't take advantage of this more often. I'm a college kid, so I don't have much cash, and this is a good way to get lots of good CDs for cheap. I'm actually trying to get a free iPod right now, and they offer BMG as a service you can select to help my account, so if you're interested in BMG just paste this link into your navigation window to help me out! http://www.freeiPods.com/?r=14437936
Thanks a bunch! And enjoy your free music!
ALTHOUGH THEY MAY HAVE SOME DECENT SALES ON MUSIC. I HAVE FOUND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE TO BE JUST DOWN RIGHT AWFUL!! & I WOULD ***NOT*** RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICE TO ANYONE!! - IT IS WAY TO AGGRAVATING TO USE THEIR SERVICE BECAUSE THEY CAN **NOT** STRAIGHTEN OUT THEIR PROBLEMS THAT THEY CREATED. THERE ARE TOO MANY OTHER WAYS TO OBTAIN MUSIC THAT ONE DOES **NOT** HAVE TO OR NEED TO PLAY THEIR GAMES OF INEPTITUDE!

Extremely great Place.Always great Deals.Always changing.12 Cd's For the price of one is Greatest Deal.
Moreover, You get Points and free Cd's for friends referrals.
Never had a problem with them, although they send tons of junk mail. I hate having to respond to cancel the new CD they want you to buy. Overall, I say they are a pretty good, reputable company.
Worst company ever to deal, stay away from them. by jasonlporter ,Jan 31 '05
TERRIBLE! Try finding a customer service # on their site. Why do they send reminder notices for you to pay for CDs you have not received yet? Why don't they return emails regarding CD's not showing up and account login problems? This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, period! Check out this site for more, http://www.louisianacajun.com/bmg.asp
I signed up for BMG for the Buy one get 12 free deal. But when I started getting outragous bills for my "free" CDs I was a little mad to find out that they charge an arm and a leg for shipping and handling. Then each month they sent me some crappy CD that I didn't want and over and over I wrote to them and told them to cancel my account and to STOP sending me stuff- Well a good few months later they finally took the hint and stopped. I won't make the mistake of going back to them again.

Lots of big beefs with this company. First and foremost is their failure to make it possible in any way other than snail mail to contact them. They provide no phone number or email contact to resolve problems. Second is the rapid rate at which the charge your credit cards without giving you an opportunity to decide whether you want their selection choice. Third, the pricing of their products and shipping. I would expect to pay a premium on shipping if purchases came in a reasonable amount of time. My last shipment took 3 weeks to get and cost me over $9 in shipping. The fourth problem I am going to bring up is the quality of the music CDs they are selling. Absolute garbage. I have a Bose sound system and every CD purchased from BMG sounds like I'm listening to an old vinyl record through dollar store speakers. I satisfied my obligation to their "club" and got out immediately. Of course, they had to get one more parting shot and charge my credit card for another selection I did not choose 3 days AFTER I canceled.
Epinions.com periodically updates pricing and product information from third-party sources, so some information may be slightly out-of-date. You should confirm all information before relying on it.
