I had a terrible experience at this online store. I bought a baby carrier and didn't use it at all, when returned in perfect condition I was not given a refund. Read the return policy carefully. If you even try something on to see if it fits they will not even give you a credit. I strongly discourage using this site!

Terrible service. I ordered a booster seat that indicated it would be shipped the next day and was charged for the seat on my credit card immediately. 10 days later, I sent an e-mail to customer service. 3 days after that, they sent an e-mail indicating it was on back order. Tried to cancel the order, but received it 3 weeks after I ordered anyway. Tried to call, left a message because I could not get anyone to answer the call - completely automated. It's been over a week since I e-mailed regarding how to ship back and get a credit and 10 days since I called. I've not heard a word. The worst service I've ever received - definitely would NOT recommend this online store. Unbelievable.

Terrible return policy

Sure, they can charge you a flat $7.95 shipping fee for whatever you buy--just hope you don't have to return it. Not until you search their wordy return policy do you learn that you are responsible for return shipping, regardless of the size or weight of your item. Plus, they're just the go-between for you and the actual vendor of the item--so, if you do want to ship something back, which I did, you have to take your package to UPS, call Baby Age BACK with a tracking number and hope the original vendor gets your return and issues you a credit.
There was a long wait for the item I did want--which was easier and faster to find through another website. I won't order from this site again, there are too many other sites that offer better customer support and easier returns!

I will never do business with those people again. They don't know what it is to take care of their customer. Customer service is not existent! I tried to return a product. Website was down and it was impossible to get a hold of them by phone. They refused return and even store credit. RIDICULOUS! Their Matilda Hall - Manager, Customer Services does not have a clue! Does not respond to email in a timely manner either. I thought I could trust them and did not believe the review I read about them...I guess it is my fault! I regret it.
BELIEVE ME!! They are not worth your time and your money. Don't work with them. SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

Bordering on fraud, will never do business with them again

I ordered several babyproofing product from BabyAge 9 days ago. I wish I'd read the recent reviews first. All the items I ordered were marked "Usually ships within one business day". My credit card was charged immediately. I received an email with a FedEx tracking number that is not valid. I complained via the customer support form this week and received an email stating that my items have shipped. However, the status for my order is still "Will ship within next business day" and I have not received a tracking number. I have twice attempted to contact their customer service department through the phone number provided, the first time the line was busy, and now I'm placed on hold and finally get through to a voice mailbox that is full so I can't leave a message.

In addition, there is the classic conversation on the phone with customer service saying the item is about to ship in one or two business days but it is untrue.

I chose BabyAge to buy a Britax roundabout car seat because they were said to be offering free shipping. As it turns out, this was no longer the case. It was still a low price, so I went ahead with the order. I got a confirmation of the order, but for several days afterward...nothing. I emailed several times to check on the order, but received no response. Finally, 6 days later I received a notice that my car seat had shipped. Again, several days went by, so I contacted FedEx and gave them the tracking number I had been given. THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT! I called BabyAge for an entire day and waited on hold forever only to be bounced back to the original message. Then I left a message on their system and NEVER HEARD A WORD. Is anyone actually there?! Finally, still with no carseat, I called my credit card company and filed a dispute and sent a cancellation email to BabyAge. I still wonder if anyone actually read it! I can't imagine how this company got a recommendation from anyone! A bizarre and time-wasting experience. Steer clear.

****BEWARE*****This company billed my credit card, sent a FALSE tracking number(FedEx has no record of it), and is not responding to phone calls, faxes or e-mails. We ordered a Britax Roundabout carseat for $175 and I might add, need it asap, so already out $175 and will probably now have to run out to babies R us to buy one. Do NOT order anything from this website, read other reviews at Bizrate.com, etc. it is happening to everyone. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and now looking at legal action because our bank's debit card, which IS a mastercard, does not dispute purchases. totally screwed. Please be careful....

I ordered a product from BabyAge and was assured I would receive it in 4 to 6 weeks. Three months later, I am still trying to get answers from them. Every time I call customer service, I get disconnected (meaning that the support staff do not know how to use their phone systems). I have tried to escalate my claim to management and spoke with a woman named Matilda Hall, who as many others have noted is full of empty promises and is clueless. I am so infuriated I can't stand it. In any case, it's good to know that I'm not the only one having problems with this store. Now I know to cancel my order immediately.

I will never shop at babyage.com again. I was unable to get through to their customer service through the phone and voicemail. I was on hold for hours and eventually told voice mailbox is full. I placed order on 12/27/04 at which time the item I ordered (Britax Marathon carseat) were marked "Usually ships within one business day". but 1 week later (on 1/7/05) I received email from BabyAge stating the item was back ordered for 5-7 days. Until today (1/24) I'm still waiting for the shipment, no response yet. By the way, they charge your credit card the minute you place an order with them even though the item is not ready to ship. It is a really bad business practice. Be careful!!

I ordered a special order bedding on October the 14th with the understanding that I would receive it no later than November 25th. By Dec 5th when I still had no heard anything I e-mailed 3 different times, called, and faxed. Finally I was told that the item was on backorder and would ship in 2-3 weeks. I just called today after it has been over 3 weeks and I still had heard nothing and was informed that it was still on backorder. The company made no attempts to let me know at any point that this item was on backorder and now I am having a baby tomorrow and have no bedding. As for the order I cancelled it and went with amazon and will have the exact same bedding by next week, yet babyage couldn't guaranteed that I would get it by next week. I am HIGHLY disappointed with their service and their company and have told them so.

Shipping is a flat rate at $7.95. I know why it is SO CHEAP. I have had to wait 1 month for my item to arrive!! It is still not here...AND THEY WONT REFUND!!!! The associates are rude and do not care about satisfying the customer. They never know anything because they have to contact the manufacturer, then get back to you! It took many painful phone calls of dealing with ignorant and rude staff to finally get some answers and to get my item SHIPPED!!!!!!

I have to agree with the recent posts about BabyAge. Absolutely awful. I placed an order, was immediately charged for it, and have received nothing.
Nobody answers the phone or email in customer service. I made the mistake of believing their BBB certifications and such on their website, but they sure look like a scam. Maybe past customers have had good experiences, but recent history looks all bad for this store.
They don't even deserve one star.
1/26/2005 Update
I appear to have gotten some response from them. Here's what I did:
- contacted some of the endorsers that appear on the footer of their website, telling them this site appears to be using their endorsements to create a false aura of trust. I contacted:
- Thawte (abuse@thawte.com)
- BizRate (help@bizrate.com)
These endorsers then contacted BabyAge, and on 1/25 I received an email with valid tracking numbers showing that my products had shipped. Of course, all it means is something shipped. They may be sending empty boxes! Anyway, I'll believe it when the actual products show up at my door.

The item I received was damaged. I tried to contact someone about the problem several times and couldn't get hold of anyone. I eventually had to leave a message with an answering machine. It has been a week and I still haven't recieved a response. I don't plan on using Babyage.com in the future.

I found your site by accident on the net. The office was
having a baby shower for one of our employees and we needed
some gifts fast. I couldn't believe how fast we recieved our orders. I ordered one thing and when it came the next

If an item is not in stock, then the web site should indicate so. But BabyAge plays the same sleazy game that a lot of other sites do: first they charge your card, but then email you to say that your item is back ordered and they don't know when they'll have it in stock. This way they have you over a barrel, which is a lousy way to practice business but is becoming more common. By the time they get this order shipped to me, my baby probably won't need the item any longer!
