TERRIBLE!!!

The Barnes & Noble.com website is TERRIBLE!
I was unable to log in while trying to purchase an item today. (Why require shoppers to log in to make a purchase anyway? I don't have to log in when I walk into their store!)
These jabronies wanted me to give them $25 bucks a year to get the good price! Plus, while my book qualified for "Fast and Free" delivery, I had to spend MORE MONEY to get it!?!?
I placed the order for the product on ANOTHER companies website for LESS MONEY and the transaction was completed in seconds!!!
No LOGIN...NO BS...NO CONDITIONAL PRICING!!!
I'll NEVER do business with Overstock.com again!

They promised delivery by Christmas during the order, then one of the books went out of stock. The "system" would only allow them to cancel half the order, which was a gift for a friend. Now I'm going to look pretty cheap. No wonder they're downsizing - unbelievably pitiful service.

When I first walked into Barnes and Noble I was like "Whoa too rich for my blood" cause I'm a teen barely in high school, no means of transportation, and no job whatsoever. It's like walking into a Starbucks with Dunkin Doughnuts money.
After I started looking around, I realized that had all the things that I needed and more all for a very good price, plus they had a coffee shop, Starbucks ironically, where you can chill and read the free papers and magazines left out for you.
You can even bring your kids here or a very simple minded sibling like my 16 year old older sister who say in the childrens room with four and five year olds listening Maisy read her first book ever.

Did not meet their guaranteed delivery policy, which was pushed very hard both on their website and through e-mails, despite repeated assurances that the items would be delivered on time. The very worst on-line experience I have had with Christmas shopping this season - will go to other booksellers or order different types of products before returning to Barnes and Noble.
Customer service was sweet as pie when promising to deliver on time (and I still had time to cancel the order), things changed dramatically when they did not comply with their guarantee. All they offered was to discount the shipping price, which shouldn't have been charged in the first place, as the guarantee was free shipping AND delivery by Christmas.

Believing in their "free and fast delivery" come-on, I ordered 9 items on the Barnes & Noble website on December 11th. All items were noted to be in stock. I received an email from them saying the items would arrive within 3 business days. One item arrived within the promised time. I then received an email a few days later stating that the remaining items would be shipped out on December 22nd! I called and spoke with a customer rep who explained that the 8 remaining items were "probably" coming from a different warehouse and that their shipping policy was that they send out items when various warehouses put them together. She said she would transfer me to a supervisor but, instead, I got a recording advising me to leave a message. The recording also advised me that I could not expect a response to my message. I would not do business again online with Barnes and Noble. Very disappointing.

I purchased numerous items from Barnes & Noble Online for Christmas, and was extremely pleased with the service I received. My items were shipped lightning quick, and everything in my numerous orders was correct. The site was easy to navigate and order from, and I did have a question, which was answered quickly in their FAQ forum. Overall, a pleasant experience that far surpassed vying for a space in the mall parking lots.

My shopping experience was very easy. The web site is very clean cut and direct, making it very simple to find exactly what you are looking for. Checkout is also very simple and adding or subtracting items from the cart was just as easy. I also received my item in a very timely manner.

They threatened to cancel my order within 72 hours if I did not confirm my address, even though I used a confirmed Paypal account. I had to respond during normal business hours, you know, while I was working. Then they had me on the phone tree for more than 15 minutes waiting for the next available customer service rep. It is not worth the hassle to deal with B&N. Go someplace else if you can.

Shop there anytime I need a textbook for school. The prices are awesome, shipping rates are lower than most, delivery is quick, and customer service is excellent. I use to go to Amazon.com a lot, and after having a few deliver problems, I switched to Barnes & Noble. I still shop at Amazon, but love Barnes & Noble for books. There selections online were very good, and the prices do not hurt your wallet. I am truly impressed.

A complete joke. They promise delivery in 24 hours in Manhattan, looking at the site 3 days later and it now says 14 days -- no ability to cancel. In the ordering area the book is still listed for 24 hour delivery.
Even better, B&N.com say one book shipped 3 days ago and give a link to the USPS which shows they were merely notified it was about to ship today -- not even that it had been received.
I was willing to try it, even when having to pay higher prices & tax, but never again!

Barnes and Noble is an excellent store. I buy many books and movies from them. There estimated delivery time is usually right on the dot.
I have no trouble with them so I do not know anything about there customer service, but when I submit a question there usually pretty fast to answer.
