One week later, the lens hadn't shipped yet, so I called their customer service line. After a long wait, a gruff man finally explained that the lens was on back-order.

However, at the moment he was telling me this, their web site still showed that they had this lens in stock. That's fraud, and I don't want anything to do with a company that lies just to get people to place orders.

Got a brand new canon SD700, product came new as described, super fast shipping...placed the order on Friday, got camera on Tuesday next week. No complaints. We'll do business again.

What makes them different, and WORSE, than ANY company I've ordered from before, is that, while most companies send you e-mail confirmation of your order, and instruct you to contact them ONLY if something's NOT RIGHT, beachcamera.com, makes you wait for their e-mail, and then have to contact them yet AGAIN, to re-confirm your order. If they thought that through, they would realize, that last step does NOTHING to add security, because, even thieves can have numerous anonymous e-mail accounts.
Save the hassle and the headaches, STAY AWAY FROM BEACH CAMERA! Spend the extra $2 - $5 and order from another more reputable, reliable company (I re-ordered from BUYDIG, and spent only $2 more!) . . . . .no problems.
