Avoid buying from Beach Camera. While the prices are very competetive, customer service is very poor and the shipping policies are a blatant rip off.
I had ordered a digital camera, lens, adapter, cleaning kit, and carrying case. I tried to add a PDA to this order by doing what the website recommends (emailing the specifics to customer service), and following up with a phone call.
Called customer service and spent 35 minutes on Hold while trying to speak to a manager. The manager could not add anything to an order that had not been packaged or shipped yet! This despite the website says that adding to an order is simple and doable.
The Beach Camera shipping policy is to send only 1 item (Camera or PDA) at a time. I asked why it's OK to ship a camera, lens, adapter, cleaning kit, and carrying case in 1 box, but not OK to add a PDA to this shipment. The Beach Camera manager said it's FedXs policy to only ship 1 item at a time!
Have shipped with FedX many times from many places, and that is not tue. As long as the items are within the size and weight limits, FedX has no problems shipping 1, 2, or 10 items in a single box.
Beach Camera is using the "FedX shipping policy" story to add additional shipping charges (@$30) to online orders.
Never again!

The on-line purchase web site is well arranged and allowed for a quick completion of the sale. Price and shipping time were excellent.
The box was packaged within another, larger box. The exterior box made the overall package bulky and too large to handle. As such it was dropped, made evident by internal damage to the inner boxes styrofoam supports. The TV is proper working order at this time, hopefully there is no long term damage.
Consideration should be given to better packaging.
Also a devivery date should be provided so someone is home to accept the item, or while making the order, allow for unsigned deliveres. Read more
