1-2 times dvd went missing in mail but blockbuster agreed when I reported it missing. They did not charge me.

pretty good selection. Only some of the dvds were too scratched to play.

THEY ARE TERRIBLE. i tried to free 2 week thing to compare it to netflix. first of all the selection was terrible and the shipping time was as well. so i obviously chose not to continue. 2 weeks after the free 2 weeks i was supposed to get my card was charged 10$. i am very busy finding a new job so i was alarmed but did not have time to deal with it. today, over a month after cancelling this online crap my card was randomly changed over 20$. this is absurd and unacceptable. and of course they do not offer a phone number on their customer support page, to make it easier to get away with stealing your money. this cannot be legal and the money keeps flying out of my account and there is no way to contact these people.

Blockbuster cancels customers who ask for help.

I learned today that my Blockbuster account was cancelled by Corporate because I contacted Customer Service too often! Geez...when there's a problem isn't that what Customer Service is for? Blockbuster has been going downhill for quite awhile. Mostly problems with the website and slow service. I've never heard of a company expelling a customer because they ask for help accessing the service they're paying for. The final insult...Blockbuster refuses to give me the phone number of the Activation Dept that cancelled me!

Poor Service

Blockbuster is not my first pick for online movie rentals. I used to use Netfix and now am considering returning to Netflix because of service issues with Blockbuster. The price for renting with Blockbuster is now the same as Netflix the only advantage is the online coupons that let you rent two movies at your local store and get one movie free to keep each month. The downside is that the free movie to keep is from a small list of previously viewed movies. Basically the movies no one wants to buy. The free rentals are fine but the online rental service is slow. It usually takes about 10 to 15 days for a new set of movies. The explanation I was given is that the Blockbuster warehouse for the online rentals is running out of movies so the local stores have to ship from their stock too. Poor service is my vote. When I called customer service they where no help where any time I had problems with Netfix they always resolved my issue in a timely manner.

Appallingly Bad Availability, DVDs Regularly Lost, Poorly Designed Web Page

I switched from Netflix to Blockbuster for the coupons and to save a few bucks. Man was it not worth it. My main issue is with the fact that Blockbuster has very few to no copies of very popular movies. In my not-very-exotic queue of 200, there are maybe 30 movies listed as available now. I have yet to received a movie that was listed as requiring a wait. Ever. Their shipping is generally slower (both the Netflix and Blockbuster warehouses in NYC are in Flushing, so that's not the issue), and with Blockbuster I have experienced five episodes of DVDs lost in the mail, something that never happened with Netflix. Their web page is far inferior to that of Netflix, as many people have well described here.
Bottom line: believe what people are saying about atrocious availability of even semi-popular DVDs. Don't try it!

I have had blockbuster online membership for 6 months.I had added a few movies in queue in the first month of starting my subscription.Still haven't got anyone of them.The movies seems to be available but I never get them.I have spoken to them numerous number of times.But, those movies at the top of my list were never even sent out.Obviously, I am not keeping the service.I did not expect this from such a big company as blockbuster.

Switch to Netflix

I joined Blockbuster online and Netflix at the same time. I wanted to see for myself which one I wanted to stay with. It's been three weeks now and Netflix has blown Blockbuster out of the water. It took about a week (6-7 days) for my first movie to be delivered from Blockbuster. The second movie was lost in the mail. I have yet to be delivered 3 movies at one time. Blockbuster also has waiting periods on almost every movie I have ordered. Right now I have 9 movies on short wait/ long wait with only one being available now. So far, just one bad experience after another. Blockbuster needs to get it together.

free trial of the video rental program= scam alert

I signed up for the new video rental promotion at Blockbuster and did not receive a link to login with via email. I was never able to use the service.
Email support was not able to find my email in their system when I inquired, but I was still billed for 2 months worth of service.
When I addressed this technical issue with Blockbuster repeatedly- they were not willing to admit that there might be a problem with their database when I originally signed up and they were not willing to refund my fees, even though I had never been able to rent a single video.
Most any company I have ever dealt with would have given the customer the benefit of the doubt in this situation.
Blockbuster just didn't care, and the customer service reps even argued with me on the phone when I presented the background of the case. I'm out about $40 and they will not receive my business again.

I was hoping to like Blockbuster better than Netflix, but I have been disappointed.

I recently signed up for both Blockbuster Online and Netflix and have a chance to compare the two. I have been disappointed with Blockbuster's turnaround time. Netflix response time and turnaround time is much quicker. I sent back two movies on Wednesday, one for Blockbuster and one with Netlix. I had the Netflix movie by Saturday, while Blockbuster had not even processed the return until Monday.
Blockbuster is cheaper, so I was hoping to the service would be equal to Netflix, but the wait time is too long. I'd rather pay the $3.00 more a month and stay with Netflix. In the long run, you'll be able to see more movies through Netflix a month because of their delivery speed.

I had a Blockbuster.com membership that was terrible--movies shipped very slowly (more than one week), and they sent DVDs from TV series out of order, and at times, sent the wrong DVDs. Their customer service was utterly unresponsive, and I had to contact my credit card company just to be credited for fees after my cancellation debt. I am currently also in the process of contacting my state's Atty. General due to Blockbuster.com's refusal to remove my credit card info from their online system, despite the fact that I have already cancelled. I am now a happy Netflix customer--everything comes within 48 hours of the previous DVD being returned

Well, we tried Walmart online rental and that was a bust. Now we have Blockbuster and I am quickly getting tired of their waiting time for movies. It does not matter if it is new or a couple years old,they just don't stock enough movies.
Have had two months of this and I am done. Gonna try Netflix next and hope for the best.

LET ME FIRST TELL YOU HOW MUCH I HATED WALKING INTO A BLOCKBUSTER STORE. WHEN THEY DROPPED THEIR ONLINE MOVIE RENTAL TO 14.99 I DECIDED WHAT THE HELL. THEY GIVE YOU A 2 WEEK FREE TRIAL SO AGAIN WHAT DO I HAVE TO LOSE. I USED TO BELONG TO WALMART 4 RENTALS FOR 23$ AND CHANGE. THEY SUCKED. SOMETIMES THEY WOULD TAKE A WEEK TO TURN AROUND A DVD. FROM SAN DIEGO TO LA AND BACK SHOULD TAKE 3 DAYS LIKE BLOCKBUSTER DOES. BLOCKBUSTER ALSO GIVES YOU 2 FREE IN HOUSE RENTALS FOR MOVIES OR GAMES THIS IS A 15.00 VALUE THE COST OF A WHOLE MONTHS RENTAL. TERRIBLE SERVICE

AVOID BLOCKBUSTER ONLINE! What Blockbuster Online claims is a "computer glitch" means that you will go weeks without them shipping you any dvds. Google this issue and see that it is affecting thousands of people! Yet Blockbuster does nothing to fix it. The latest response I got from Blockbuster customer service tries to blame me for the non-shipment problem because I have a "mere" 26 "available" titles in my queue.

Just half a movie from Blockbuster

I rented Disc 1 and Disc 2 to watch a movie that comes in four episodes (each disc has two episodes). I watched Disc 1 but when I inserted Disc 2 it was a bonus disc (behind the scenes, about the making of the movie, etc.). This despite Blockbuster's website saying that the bonus disc was on Disc 3. I guess Blockbuster feels that if you've seen half of a movie, you've seen it all.
