On 9/22/2008, UPS attempted to deliver the Toshiba Regza 46" LCD HDTV (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11303088&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US) which I ordered through Costco.com on 9/15/2008. Since the box was visibly damaged during shipment (the box was dented, ripped open, and had been taped), I refused delivery from UPS.
High Definition Televisions are very delicate, and I was not about to accept an item that was obviously handled extremely rough during shipment!
After calling Costco.com and waiting on hold for almost 20 minutes, I requested a full refund in the amount of $1,733.99. They told me I would have to wait two to four weeks for my refund request to be processed.
After this experience. I decided to buy a television from a merchant where I can inspect the box before purchasing.
I would like to suggest that Costco.com notifies whoever ships electronics items like this for them to package them a little more carefully for shipment to insure that they arrive to the customer undamaged.
