Ordered 5 DVDs from them. Received 4 very quickly and was notified that the last one was on backorder. It should ship within days. Very satisfied with the prices and quick delivery.

i ordered three DVD's and about a week later, 2 showed up and the packing slip said that the third was coming under separate cover. it never showed. phone line is always busy, and they never answer e-mails. when checking status on line it states that all three DVD's were sent. very frustrating, have advised AMEX not to pay.

A very disappointing experience

This is the slowest site on Earth. I ordered DVD movie only to have it be shipped a week later! The DVD didn't say it was on backorder nothing it took a week for them to ship it out! Actual shipping is worse. I chose the free shipping option but it took 2 1/2 weeks to receive product from when they said they shipped it. I have received stuff faster from China and Japan. They probably lied on shipping date never again. 3 1/2 weeks to receive DVD from order date. DVD was Mystic River. I E-mailed them several times never got a response back. Pathetic!

I had extreme pleasure to shop in this store. First: price - $10.50 for DVD and 0.00 (yeah, zero!!!) for s&h. Second - communication. I was informed about each and every step my order went through. Third - speed. Yes. I received my video within 9 days. So my experience was very good and I hope to return to shop there again.

I have bought from this store and I will warn you to watch your pop ups and make sure you read everything that you sign. They had a hidden charge that was billed to my home phone of 9.95 a month. They also sent my movies 2 weeks after Christmas and they were ordered in November. I had to email them over and over before I got a response and then it was too late for a Christmas gift. So, buyer beware.

Best value on web, free and quick shipping, great prices and selection

Deep Discount DVD and their sister site, Deep Discount CD is a little known gem. The site consistently has a great selection of practically every type of DVD made. The prices are very low, the shipping is free, and best of all, the shipping is very, very fast. I have been ordering DVD's and CD's from them for over a year and have never had a complaint. I will continue to shop there first.

Not so great experience with Deep Discount (read update)

After checking reviews of Deep Discount DVD, I decided to go ahead and place an order. I ordered a total of 14 DVDs (I used a coupon code for 20% off), the cost came to $100.69.
Order accuracy: received a confirmation email almost immediately that all the DVDs were in stock and within a very short time the DVDs were shipped.
Delivery speed: it took about 2 weeks and the DVDs were delivered. Considering the shipping was FREE I was more than satisfied with the delivery speed.
All the DVDs were delivered and, so far, I am satisfied with them (I'm still checking them).
The selling points are their great prices/free shipping and handling/how easy it was to navigate through the website/payment options (I used Bill Me Later)/and (most important) NO commitment to buy more in the future.
Update Nov 15, 2007: Ordered books, paid almost $10 extra for shipping BECAUSE it included a tracking number...did not receive tracking number. Also, ordered only books that were in stock...after placing order, one was NOT in stock. VERY disappointed!

Poor and unresponsive customer service.

This store has good prices, but...they have no phone number listed on the web site or other way to make personal contact. The e-mail customer service may be run by a computer, for all the insight it shows--parroting info already on the web site without answering questions. I had a package that was not delivered but was sent back by Post Office whim. Deep Discount did credit my account, but did not notify me of their actions. And they refused to answer my request for a phone call and ignored repeated questions about the reorder process.

Terrible Customer Service!

This place has horrendous customer service. I ordered a DVD that was listed as in-stock. After purchasing I discover it is on "backorder". I send them an e-mail to cancel the item (can't cancel items on their webpage unlike most sites) and I receive an e-mail that it is impossible to cancel the item!

I have been dealing with Deep Discount DVD for 7 or 8 months now and have placed several orders with them. Their selection is without equal and, with a few exceptions, their prices are better than other sources.
The orders I placed were acknowledged immediately, shipped within a day or two, and in my mail box within 10 days, many times in less than 7.
When I once had a question about a product that I ordered, the response to my e-mail was immediate and gave me a complete answer to my query.
I am alerted to all "BackOrder" and "PreOrder" situations,
the followup orders are shipped in a timely fashion, and are preceded by e-mail notification.
My Credit Card is only charged for items shipped and always for the correct amount.
I don't know these people personally, but my hat is off to them! Keep up the good work!

It is a risk to shop here

When I ordered my 4 cd's the website said they were in stock. I then received an email stating that 3 of the 4 were back-ordered. I called to cancel the order and was told that since 1 was in stock I could not cancel until it was shipped. When I received my shipping confirmation on the 1 cd I called back (on hold for 20 minutes) and was told that 2 more were in stock even through their status on the website showed backorder. I was told I could not cancel until the next 2 had shipped. Called back the next day when I had not received any additional shipping conformation. Finally got the order cancelled.

Zero response from customer service

Appalling customer service. I sent DDD customer service and email on 15 April 04 asking them to cancel a duplicate order for one dvd that I accidentally pre-ordered twice. The pre-order ship date was 4 May 04. While I received an automated response with a tracking number for this email, as of 10 May 04, I have still not received a response to my (numerous) follow-up emails (in which I have quoted the tracking number each time).
Since that time DDD have shipped the duplicate order to me. Honestly, I am loathe to send the duplicate disc back for a refund, with that kind of performance from customer service, they will probably keep the disc and fail to refund my credit card.
Do yourself a favour, deal with someone else who actually employs staff in their customer service department.

Customer Service Nightmare makes it not worth it

Had a big order of books and DVD's for Christmas, ordered in November. Shipped late, if at all. Billed separately, hard to track. Did not accept their own coupon at time of checkout for 20% off. Customer service a nightmare. Waited for over an hour each time I called to talk to a person on customer service, then told a different thing every time. Each time the previous person I talked with apparently gave me wrong information. Had used them in the past but never with a large order. Always took up to three weeks to ship item. After this nightmare, I will never use them again.

I ordered three video games from DeepDiscount.com Dec. 1st and received an e-mail saying they were all "in stock."
After watching all week to see if they had shipped, I e-mailed them Dec. 6th to check my order status and received a blanket e-mail thanking me for my inquiry. I then Googled the company to find their 800 number (couldn't find it on the Web site) and called.
The guy said my items were backordered...this is three weeks before Christmas. I asked him why they showed "in stock" on my first e-mail confirmation and he said they update their inventory hourly so it must not have been updated when I placed my order. I then asked when they would have notified me of this and they wouldn't have. I cancelled my order and will not use them again.
