Good prices, slow slow shipping

The selection and prices are very good; free shipping is also good, but not as great when you realize it's all Media Mail shipping anyway which costs less than 2 bucks for most purchases.
My order took an extremely long time to ship. It shipping out on December 9th but I did not receive it until December 29th. Media Mail can take a long time, but it should not take this long. This was a Christmas gift, so I was basically left in the lurch when it did not arrive before Christmas as it should have.
I contacted Customer Service and got a quick reply, however I was basically told not to email them again until the 30th came around if i still had not received my item.
Overall, the prices and selection are good and Customer Service replies quickly but the shipping is very slow and not reliable.

I have done business with DeepDiscount for 2 years now and have had very few problems. The prices are incredible when compared with other outlets and all of their DVD's ship brand new. DeepDiscount has been a godsend for cheap guys like me who want to build their DVD collections without spending thousands of dollars. Of course, I have had some minor problems with them, but I've also had major problems with BestBuy and CircuitCity. I don't think there is any retailer out there that you're not going to have at least some problems. So if you have any problems, get over it and enjoy these great prices. I have purchased over 80 DVD's from DeepDiscount and have saved over $300. Over time, low prices make a difference. I know.

I've ordered a lot of DVDs from them over the years, due to their low prices and free shipping, but the last few orders have had nothing but problems. Beware their "2 for 1" sales because their sale website is full of bugs and I ended up getting multiple copies of the same DVD. Shipped them back as directed for refund but they "never arrived" and money never refunded. Now they shipped me the wrong DVD and I had to PAY postage to send it back for the correct one with no reimbursement! Now dealing with a lost package they shipped. What a headache. Shop around because you can find a pretty good price and MUCH BETTER service without the ripoffs and headaches! AVOID this store!

Originally fine, but it's become impossible to deal with

For a couple of years, I happily shopped with Deep Discount pretty much to the exclusion of other on-line video companies. But this year, I have found it just about impossible to deal with them, on line or on the phone. First, I couldn't log on, not for several days. Then I was TOLD I logged on, but I hadn't been.
So I phoned them. The first clerk hung up on me. The second put me on hold and left me there. I was not being impolite, I was not raising my voice. I sent eMail after eMail and received no response.
Now they have this big sale. Okay, I thought I'd give them another chance, especially considering there are a couple of high-priced items I've been wanting. So I logged on--successfully! But whenever I added a disc to my shopping basket the previous disc disappeared.
Then that problem stopped (but has recommenced). However, when I entered the code and tried to pay, I was told my shopping card was empty. I went back one screen. Nope, it wasn't empty. I tried a different code. Same thing.
The lower prices are not worth this annoyance.

I found a game on their site that I really wanted to get. I ordered it and purchased via credit card. After almost a week of waiting, I wrote to them about why my order was still in "processing" state. They replied saying item is out of stock.
I am now trying to cancel my order. I wrote back to them asking why customers do not get notified upfront about item being unavailable at the moment BEFORE placing the order!

I ordered an HDMI extension cable, a very difficult item to find. There was an initial slip-up on the order, but as soon as I notified them of the problem, there was wonderful communication, fast resolution, a partial refund on my shipping charge, and very fast delivery of the item. I would have no hesitation about ordering from them again. Also prices are very good. Only drawback is a $2.99 surcharge for orders under $50.

BAD customer service

I ordered THX1138 from them through a link from a price comparison site. The features listed were those of the two disc edition so I was confident of getting the right version at a good price. I ordered the day before release but it still took over two weeks for delivery. I may be in the UK and they're in the US, but I get orders from Hong Kong or Australia in much less time. When I received the order I opened it up and got the wrong release... Emailed customer service, they said I could return it, pay the extra and they would send the other one as long as the original disc had not been opened. I said I had to as my one doesn't say how many discs on the outside. And then .... nothing. They have now realised their mistake as there isn't a link from the price checker site any more and their website lists two different versions, but they won't admit it to me. Customer service is the absolute worst. AVOID

They should be called deepletdowndvd.com they take 3 days to "PROCESS" then another two weeks to ship.Sometimes a total of 15 day plus!I placed my last order on 8/30 and have yet to receive my order 9/16,just one movie.If you want a movie before it's a "Turner Classic" order it from elsewhere such as circuitcity.com,bestbuy.com,towerrecords.com,amazon.com are just a few.If you got to pay a few cents more do it(free shipping though),these clowns are ridiculous! I once paid extra for three day shipping and got it 9 days later?After several emails I finally got it refunded.The prices are low but so is their customer satisfaction!I linked up to place this feedback,they don't want to give you an easy opportunity to give your two cents(opinion).Think twice before you shop with these Bozos!

Decent place to get dvd's

Experience has been mostly positive, however there are some negatives that I have experienced but nothing major that would stop me from buying from them again in the future.
Standard shipping is always free. However, sometimes my movies arrive in a week, sometimes they take 3 weeks or longer. Occasionally they have a dvd listed as being in stock, but when I add it to my cart, it says that it's not currently available. Also, they have sent me junk mail (snail mail) on behalf of some of their partners. A free $2.50 or $5 check made out to you, but if you cash it, you will be charged $99 for some subscription you don't want. A couple of pitfalls, but decent overall.

Horrible, Awful, Deplorable Customer Service. Think Twice Before You Buy.

Don't buy from deepdiscountdvd.com. Although the prices are great, you get ZERO for customer service. I ordered $100+ of merchandise back in November. The first shipment was lost in the mail, and I am still waiting for items that were/are backordered. It is January 12th. Customer service is a joke. They never respond to email and they claim a queue of 22 on the phonelines at 7 am in the morning. That alone should be indication of the fact that there are many problems. My credit card statement looks like a mess, with wrong overcharges and credits and additional charges etc...and they don't care. Don't order "expidited" service, as it will take forever to receive anyway. I'm witness to that as my order is now 1 1/2 months old.
