Deep Discount DVD Online Store

I always buy from this store, their customer service is top notch, and always does what ever it takes to keep the customer happy. I recently found a dvd cheaper on another website, and they price matched, AND BEAT the competitions price.
E-mail response times are awesome, and when checking on an order I always get through to a human being. Thanks DeepDiscountDVD.com for being one of the best on-line stores out there.

I recently found deepdiscountdvd.com and was intrigued by the prices and free shipping, but found the reviews to be split good and bad.  I personally purchased sopranos complete series which was backordered and 2 sets of the family guy complete series.  I received all three including the backordered sopranos in less than one week.  The shipment was boxed perfectly and I am 100% completely satisfied.  If you are looking to buy from this vendor, I would highly recommend them.

I have been a loyal customer of Deep Discount DVD since 2003 because of its cheap, no-frills DVD selection.

However, I recently discovered $9 monthly charges on my checking-account statement, all from a company called "WLI*SHOPPERDISCOUNT". Upon doing some research, I found their number and gave them a call. I learned that they had received my information (including debit-card number!) from Deep Discount, and I had been involuntarily added as a member of Shopper Discount. The latter company is listed with hundreds of complaints on the website of Connecticut's Better Business Bureau.

I've learned that this is a common practice by Deep Discount. If you google "Shopper Discount" and "Deep Discount DVD", you'll find a LOT of customer complaints. Apparently, part of the "deep discount" is paid for by selling customer's credit-card information to Shopper Discount.

This experience has so sickened me that I will never shop at Deep Discount again, and I recommend that you do not either.

If you do not mind waiting 3 weeks for delivery with free shipping and handling, then you can use this site. I was told delivery no more than 10 business days via email. I was unable to reach anyone via telephone and then proceeded to send an email. I then received a response they were having trouble with their email service and it would take about 72 hours for a response. I did finally receive the DVD in 13 business days. Pricing was excellent, but because of the mailing experience and terrible customer service response, I would not even chance paying extra for postage to get a DVD faster. This was my first order and probably my last.

I have previously shopped using this website in the past. I placed an order on 3/22/04--that's 16 days ago. Still, no movie has arrived at my door. I sent an email to customer service over 2 days ago--still no response as to "where is my stuff?" I could have ran down to the local "discount store" 16 days ago and pay the extra $0.50 cents more than it cost on-line and had it by now.
It's poor customer service, that's all.

The worst store. I waiting 1 hour on there telephone line, no answer,I called in because I ordered a item 2 weeks before this call and it has yet to be recieved. The worst experience.

I've been shopping at Deep Discount for years, and they consistently have great prices and fast shipping. I've never had any trouble whatsoever.

Everything with my order went well. My DVD arrived in great condition in my mail box. Nice email feedback also.

Purchased many items here. Quick processing, with items usually received within a week. Look here first for the best prices on the internet for new items, or newly released. Never been disappointed. Marked as a "favorite".

I use this website all the time. I'm converting all my VHS and they are great with prices and delivery.

I've placed about 15 orders with Deep Discount DVD over the past two years or so. The prices are, more often than not, the best you'll find on the net. Couple that with free shipping and no tax (here in NY) and you get a substantial discount. One problem that I've run into, more than once, is that they will send you your DVDs, and some that they said were included in the shipment, weren't. A quick e-mail to customer service letting them know about the problem usually results in a return e-mail saying they will re-ship the missing items. However, oddly enough, they RE-BILL you for the missing DVDs and then CREDIT your account! I can't, for the life of me, understand why they do this. It seems like a silly accounting game. So, if this happens to you, check your credit card bill for the charge and the refund! Overall though, I've saved hundreds of dollars buying my DVD from them. It's worth the slight customer service hassle in my opinion.

The price was right but it turned out to be the most expensive DVD I've ever paid for. I never got it. I've e-mailed the site 4x in four weeks and have been ignored. Oh well you live and learn, I hope you won't make the same mistake too.

Shipping is the problem.
5-10 business day, standard, free. Fine - I'll wait, I'm a cheapskate.

I placed my order 10/6 and was notified it was shipped on 10/8. On 10/22, I still did not have the DVD. I called and was told that it really could take up to 22 days, if I didn't have it by the following Friday (10/29) to call back then.

10/29 - NO DVD!! I could have walked it from Illinois faster than this! Ridiculous! I called and the customer service agent was appropriately appalled and said that she'd get another one out for delivery ASAP and include the faster (3-5 days) shipping option.

I log into my account this morning (11/1) and I have been CHARGED AGAIN for this DVD that I still do not have in my possession!! Not only that, but the charge is MORE than the first charge, because they charged me for the "expedited" shipping!

I am counting down the 10 minutes until they open so I can have a few choice words for the poor soul who happens to answer the phone.

_ After reading some of the reviews on DDD I was a little hesitant to order. But, I ordered 2 DVDs(relatively easy to get) - got them well packaged in about 10 days. This was my first order.

Deep Discount DVD used to be a great, most affordable online DVD store, but over the last couple months, they are experiencing problems with delivering the goods.

I ordered two consecutive DVDs that were billed to my credit card, but never shipped. No tracking information is available to customers because the company utilizes the U.S. Postal Service when offering free shipping, so you basically wait. And wait. Only after 15 business days have elapsed will Deep Discount reverse charges for items not delivered, then rebill your account and ship the merchandise using another carrier.

The only explanation offered by the company is that they've "been having problems with the Postal Service taking too long" to deliver items. (Funny, but there seems to be no shortage or delay of other mail in my mailbox...)

By the time you've gone through the rigamorale a couple times, as you can imagine, you're no longer eager to watch your film, but you are aggravated and annoyed.

I loved the idea of free shipping, but I'm now willing to pay a few extra dollars to another company. (Receiving what you pay for on a timely basis is a very nice touch.)
