Dick's Sporting Goods Online Store

Wow, I was getting ready to post a negative review and hoping I wasn't the only one. I'm glad to see I'm not...They had a poster IN STORE for an item I wanted to buy on the spot. It wasn't in stock, and I was directed to the online store. Couldn't buy it from their either.I was just going to make a simple complaint about adds for stuff you can't buy and crappy service, but I think the rest of the posts speak for themselves.I guess "Dicks" is the appropriate name for this store....

Order two tennis rackets several days ago. First, confirmed the order and indicated that they were in warehouse would be shipped in 1-2 days. One day later, another email came and indicated that those two rackets were on advance order, whatever that meant, and the shipment would be delayed. Two more days later, two emails came to cancel the order.

After dozens of attempts online/ over the phone, Dicks Sporting Goods and Sports Authority will not process my order for a billiards table, for delivery to my Florida vacation home, because I live in the UK and my bank is in the UK, not the US.

I have complained, but all I get it this is their policy. Unjustifiable policy in my opinion, how many foreign owned rental properties are there in Florida. Thousands!

I ordered a pair of basketball shoes late on a Friday afternoon. I didn't pay additional for the overnight shipping because I didn't think they'd be shipped until Monday any how and didn't want the added expense. They were actually shipped out on Saturday and arrived on Wednesday. I thought this was very fast delivery service especially since there was no charge for the regular ground shipping and there was a special offer where I could return the shoes without paying the return postage if I needed to. Also, the shoes were ten dollars cheaper than I found on any other web site. They were exactly what I ordered. I'm satisfied!

I was lead to believe that this order would be shipped in 1 to 2 full business days leaving plenty of time for xmas. Well, it looks as though my 11 year old is going to be disappointed xmas morning because it is now the 3rd day and it still says located in stock.. I've sent email after email and no response. No local stores have the item he wants and I can't cancel the order. how am I going to explain this to him? I want to go to the local Dicks@#$%%$ and picket the place... unbelievable. the grinch must run this online store. bah humbug

I PLACED 2 ORDERS; BOTH ITEMS WERE "IN STOCK" ON THE DICK'S WEBSITE.
ORDER 1: I GET EMAIL SAYING ITEM IS BEING SHIPPED FROM MANUFACTURER - I NEEDED ITEM BEFORE I LEFT FOR TRIP.
IT THEN SHIPS TO THE DICK'S WAREHOUSE, THEN ME.
(I'M STILL WAITING FOR MY ORDER PLACED OVER A WEEK AGO).
ORDER 2: GET EMAIL SAYING ITEM IS ON BACKORDER.
I ALSO USED A $10 "REWARD CERTIFICATE"; SUBMITTED ORDER APPLIED THIS, HOWEVER WHEN I CHECKED MY ORDER ONLINE; THIS WASN'T APPLIED.
WENT BACK TO WEBSITE, TRY TO REORDER SAME ITEM; GET TO CHECKOUT AND IT STILL SHOWS ITEM AS IN STOCK.
I ALSO TRIED TO PAY USING PRE-LOADED DEBIT CARDS PLUS REMAINING BALANCE ON CREDIT CARD; BUT YOU CAN'T DO THAT WITH DICK'S
I WOULDN'T RECCOMMEND SHOPPING HERE UNLESS THEY ARE HONEST.

I placed a phone order on dec. 21 2008 for kids golf clubs a santa present. Was told by operator that product was in stock and was part of their  guarantee delivery by christmas this was great news because we couldnt find our son a santa gift he wanted- looking on line we found dicks sporting offer for delivery before christmas---needless to say we were very disappointed when christmas eve came and no gift was delivered!!!!!We called on day after christmas to find out what happened and get our guaranteed order..Was told by customer service that they e mailed me and canceled our order by e mail, i told them i was not around my computer over the holidays so i never got thier e mail. I feel dicks should stand behind their promise because the operator never said check e mail for status was actually told by her the order was confirmed and i was given confirmation number...i will never shop at dicks unless they make this right!!

After buying tennis racket strings at Dick's today, I left the racket there to be stringed as expected. However, when I got home I received a call saying that since I "had not paid" for the strings, the racket could not be stringed. I was quite surprised since I had definitely paid for the strings and I still had my receipt. What most surprised and angered me was that when I called back to tell them I had paid, the manager hung up on me without apologizing. Whatever happened to customer service and satisfaction? Dick's Sporting Goods' customer service is appalling.

I had to place four different orders through Dicks. Each time the Website and phone operator claimed the items were in stock. Each time I receieved an email saying they were on back order. Customer Service did not want to do anything to fix the problem. They are basically using false advertising, promising leaving the warehouse in 1-2 days with free shipping as a way to bait customers. I am reporting them to the better business bureau.

I ordered a long list of Christmas items in November, hoping to beat the rush. I was very pleased with the selection and website, then things went totally wrong. A week after placing my order, I received notice that one of my items "was unavailable to ship", something noted by a previous poster. This was frustrating as the item was available and confirmed. The order was shipped on Dec. 1 and it simply never arrived. I received no response to my e-mail, so I called customer service on Dec. 21. A very pleasant customer service rep. checked and confirmed that my shipment could not be traced and must have been lost by the USPS. I finally got a credit a few days later, but I had to do a lot of unexpected last minute shopping. I took up the invitation to e-mail the VP of customer service as suggested on the website. That was several weeks ago and he has not responded.

JAN 2009__Ordered punching bag for grandson for Christmas from Dicks Sporting Goods Online. It was sent from the Everlast company. Arrived in a timely manner. Box was split open half way around and taped up. Chain and swivel were missing. Called Dicks. They were very nice. They contacted Everlast and told them to email me. Everlast didn't. Called Dicks again. Dicks was very understanding and even refunded my shipping cost because of the problem. Dicks gave me Everlasts customer service phone #. Everlast told me to fax them the receipt and the details which I did. The chain and swivel arrived a week later.

Terrible/nonexistant customer service. Does NOT care if customer is satisfied at all. Ordered an item, received status messages that it was in stock and would ship in 1-2 days. After waiting for 2 weeks, status still showed as in stock, sent detailed email received only form letter emails, tried calling on hold for more than 1/2 hour, no help from representative. Finally, got an email that the item would not ship for 1 month and I could cancel. I finally got to a rep to cancel, they have no immediate status, said the cancel was requested and would take 24-48 hours to reflect in the order.
In the meantime, they shipped the item the next night AFTER I had cancelled the order. No further communication no customer service. Terrible experience.

This is a horrible store. I purchased a treadmill online and within the description of the treadmill it stated "Sole Fitness F85 Treadmill- Inside Delivery!" look at webpage "http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/sm-sole-fitness-f85-treadmill-inside-delivery--pi-1972017.html" well it has been 1 month, 13 phone calls and I still do not have the treadmill delivered inside. The trucking company is willing to deliver it curb side. The refuse to cancel my order and refuse to honor the inside delivery.

I opened a case with the BBB.

Terrible service and very, very slow shipping. I will never shop Dick's again either online or retail! Unless you have time and money to throw away, BEWARE!!

I placed my order within the normal time period I needed the item the web site stated I would receive it, but when I received my confirmation e-mail, it stated the item would not ship for another couple of weeks from when I needed it. I sent an e-mail to Customer Service advising them of my situation and I received a "generic" e-mail not answering my question so I had to call Customer Service. They could not cancel my order (this all happened within minutes of receiving the confirmation). I now have to wait until I receive the item (4 weeks from now), call them back again and have them send me a label so I can return the item.
