My shopping experience at Discovery.com was not bad at all. I was looking for a specific model Meade Barlow lens--my purchase decision was based on selection, price, and a sufficiently descriptive catalog entry. My order arrived intact in a fairly timely manner. So far, so good.
Unfortunately, I wound up on the Discovery Store mailing list, and have not been able to stop Discovery.com SPAM despite repeated attempts to unsubscribe. I've followed directions, unchecked everything on their automated subscription page, (which uses Cheetahmail.com), and tried asking customer service to delete my info.
Naturally, their "customer care" correspondence uses a bogus address (customer_care@discovery.com). Well, I'm tired of sending messages through their customer service form and getting the same old canned responses.
Sadly, it looks like I'll have to block Discovery.com and forget about shopping there again. Too bad--it's a fun store.
