Pros: Extensive inventory, reasonable prices, well organized web site, direct deposit payments for sellers Cons: Search engine bug, poor buyer/seller communication
How Does It Work?
Half.com is one of the very best websites on the Internet for what it does--bringing buyers and sellers together. Since they are associated with EBay, the site is well organized and functions very similarly, but it...

Pros: Inexpensive way to find the books you want Cons: Some sleezy sellers
Half.com is quickly becoming one of my favorite web sites. This is a site where you can both, buy and sell books, music, movies/DVD or games. What makes this site so special is that it is not an auction site where you have to pray to be...

Pros: Large selection, good prices, reasonable shipping, usually good service. Cons: Can't aggregate orders to reduce shipping, some slow sellers.
Half.com is one of those internet business ideas that really makes sense. It's a lot like a standing flea market where sellers of used items list their inventories and buyers rummage through looking for bargains. It's a little different from a flea...

Pros: You can get some great deals. Cons: Postage can eat you up, need to buy carefully.
Half.com reminds me somewhat of "A Tale of Two Cities." It can be both very good and very bad. Having said that, I have purchased numerous books, cd's, and videos on half.com and have not had a bad experience yet. Likewise, I have sold several books...

Be careful when buying textbooks at half.com as some sellers seem to feel it is ok to list an older edition book with the newer editions. Don't get me wrong - I love Half.com and have saved $1000s of dollars on textbooks there. Most sellers are great...

Pros: Excellent Prices! Cons: Shipping Charges stink.
I've bought several things from half.com--from books to video games--and I've never been let down. The quality ratings are generally right on target and the folks you're buying from are rated as well, so you lessen the chances of getting rooked by some...

Pros: It is much cheaper than buying things at a regular retail store. Cons: Sometimes shipping takes a while.
Half.com is a wonderful website. It gives patrons an opportunity to serch a huge inventory for deals on items ranging from CD's to jewlery. There have been many times I have gotten things for 75 to 80% off of retail. Many of the products are used, but...

I have been a seller and purchaser for over 5 years. It's a great way to save some money and recycle media at the same time. I liked half.com a little better before eBay took it over about 3 or 4 years ago - but it's still a great service none-the-less! ...
