Pros: Excellent interface for shopping from competitive vendors; great prices and service. Cons: Indiscreet search engine; multiple vendors means multiple shipping charges.
... I could buy loads more stuff at Half.Com.
I just finished my first shopping experience there. What I mean by this is that I have located, ordered, received and been billed for the products I wanted. No shopping experience is complete until...

Pros: excellent prices Cons: limited stock, you deal with real people so it's unpredictable
I stumbled onto half.com a few years ago when I was looking to buy an out of print CD. I had seen it go on ebay for 30$ and I just didn't want to pay that price for it. I found it on half.com for 6$. I snatched it up, and a week later I was playing it...

Pros: Find hardcover editions of brand new books for way less than retail. Cons: Not enough comparison sites listed.
I have been an Amazon.com customer and reviewer for years, and I'll talk about them on their page. My first choice for brand new books, though, is Half.com.
This is a site where private and corporate sellers alike list their brand new and...

Pros: The cheapest books I have found, speedy transactions, and great selection. Cons: Hard to communicate between buyer and seller and you cannot see the actual item.
I must say that I am in love with half.com. Half.com lists books, movies, computers, electronics, sporting goods, and trading cards. I go there mostly to buy used books, and they are so much cheaper it is unbelievable! I have bought there over 20...

Pros: Easy to use and great low prices Cons: Shipping
Yes, I have started my Christmas Shopping already. I had heard about Half.com from a friend who sells through them and I thought I would look. I was having a problem finding a CD for my son.
I went to the site and was amazed. There are...

Pros: good value, safe transactions Cons: sometimes cannot find what I'm looking for
I have used this service many times. As an avid graphics design book reader and DVD collector, I have purchased many a items from this online retailer.
Here are my list of pros and cons:

Pros: Large selection Cons: Half.com policies protect fraudulent sellers - Lousy customer service
I attempted to buy 4 different items from Half.com:
- On 2 of the items, it took several days to hear back from the seller that they were out of stock, despite being listed as "in stock" - very frustrating. On the 3rd item, I did get the...

Pros: Fun and easy site to use. Cons: Some purchases can be compared to buying an item new.
Looking for a bargain?????
This is the site to visit. I have made numerous purchases from Half.com. Between CD's and VHS tapes I can honestly say I haven't ran into one item that I wasn't happy with.
Half.com sells numerous items from...

Pros: Affordable, quality product, easy to sell extra stuff Cons: Shipping items out can be expensive.
Lets just start by saying Half.com is one of my favorites, I have been using it for about 1.5 years now. It certainly is not perfect, but I actually prefer it to ebay. Half.com is owned and run by ebay as an alternative to the bidding world. To me, its...

Pros: Lots of new and used items at low prices. Cons: Absolutely NO seller protection against buyer fraud. VERY poor feedback system.
As a long time user of Ebay I found it a refreshing change to sell items on Half.com. No auctioning, no hassle. You list your items, name your price and wait for the buyers to come to you. Sounds great, right? Wrong.
Beneath the surface of...

Pros: Great selection, reasonable shipping Cons: Half.com corrupts postings, lousy customer service, confusing problem resolution
I have been active Half.com user for about a year, having purchased at least half a dozen books, CDs, and videogames. Based on good experiences with these items, I moved up to bigger tickets. My most recent purchase was for an $800 camera.

I've used Half.com for about a year now as both a seller and a buyer in almost 1500 transactions. It's a great site, but people -- both sellers and buyers -- need to pay better attention to details.
First off, Half has improved some things...

Pros: Clockwork process--list it, sell it; see it, buy it. Cons: Transactions work without a safety net for the most part; search results sometimes spurious.
I've been a member of Half.com, buying and selling for almost two years now. They're doing alright by me, perhaps I'm just lucky. I started with them way back before they were bought by eBay and were just selling used books that couldn't be listed for...

I no longer trust buying from Half.com. Besides all the problems I have as a seller, like not being able to communicate with the buyer and not having any kind of buyer rating to see who I might be selling to or warn others, the worst problem yet is,...

I have bought and sold items thru half.com for about a year, finding it more suitable for my needs than ebay, even tho they are now connected. With ebay, you list an item for sale, and it is then offered for auction. You must pay a fee to list items to...
