Saved $100 from prices offered by Travelocity, Expedia and Orbitz. But hotwire has inflexible terms. You only get the price up front, and you find out everything else after you order (and once you order, there's no going back). THEY choose the time of...

Pros: Similar to Priceline, and you can see the fare details before buying Cons: A no-committments middleman that will happily screw you and keep your money
I got a pretty good price on an SF-NY roundtrip fare which I booked 2 months in advance. Usually, it's ~$280, and this was $35 cheaper. Great. Read the other reviews to see what's so much fun about a cheap fare.
But then I had a work emergency...

The shopping experience was good. However when I arrived at the airport with my e-mail confirmation and confirming with the airlines days before that I did in fact have a seat. I was informed as I was trying to board the plane that Hotwire never...

I decided to take my girlfriend to Paris for a long weekend for her birthday since flights were very cheap for March. I went on Hotwire to book a room and they showed a "4 star" hotel right near the Arc Triomphe. The site stated that the hotel had a ...

This was the worst online travel service I have ever used. I booked our two tickets but the confirmation screen did not come up. The screen froze. I rebooked and this time it went through. Two weeks later I got a message from ...

We stayed at a hotel in Orlando for 2 nights after returning from a Disney Cruise. We used Hotwire to book the hotel, which was a mistake. We booked it because the rate on hotwire said "$60 per night including taxes and fees". However when we got ...

The pricing at hotwire might be fantastic, but you can find deals at many on-line sites. Kayak will run through everything for you. I'd much rather go somewhere and be treated respectfully than ever go through Hotwire again. I had complications with ...

I booked with Hotwire on a few occasions. Once they put me in a Days Inn (called it 3 star) but it was a glorified Motel 6. I have never known a Days Inn to be a 3 star hotel. I gave them another chance. When booking for a hotel in Vancouver, I ...
