J&R Music & Computer World could give a bit more information to it's customers about the merchandise. I will more than likely have to return this merchandise due to the fact that it's not compatable to my system's hardware and an adaptor is totally out of the question since there are none to be found. Major point of confusion was that J&R's order tracking system listed only one UPS tracking number for the order, when, in fact, there were two. Contrary to what I was later told by JR.com customer service staff, the UPS site did NOT provide me any way to find the missing second tracking number, or even to discover HOW MANY tracking numbers were associated with the order! UPS was a real problem, too, leaving one speaker on our porch when we were not home where it could have be stolen or rained on. And then loading the speaker on to the truck at 3:00 a.m. Friday morning, but not delivering it until 11:00 a.m. Monday morning, leaving my wife at home stuck waiting for the truck for a day and a half, because neither of us wanted the second one stolen or rained on.
On the other hand, J&R makes a lot of effort to serve Canadian buyers, which is much more than I can say for 99% of U.S. Internet sellers. They provide a UPS shipping method that includes overnight air freight, insurance and brokerage. And it still works out about 20% cheaper than the cheapest price I can find from a Canadian source for the same speakers, even local discounters where I would have to haul the speakers home in my car.
