My friend's set up their wedding website under Macy's so I gave a try to Macys.com for their present.

I will not criticize their high prices because their brand name suggest above average prices together with above average service.

While I was thinking that my presents were on their way, I received a call from them on a Sunday afternoon to verify the address that I am sending the presents. They stupidly claimed that it was for my protection, while what they were doing was only saving themselves and delaying my presents.

Then, they somehow managed to ship the presents one by one over the course of a week.

Clearly, Macy's com cannot provide half the quality of service that companies like Amazon.com (which has no ambition to provide high service) provides. Macys.com has a very poor value proposition. I would not shop there again.

Macy's Wedding registry is a horrible experience

I went to the Macy's wedding registry (I thought) and ordered some fiesta ware for my niece which had a buy one get one free special. When I went to check out, it was not there, so I called the customer service number to make sure I would get the special, then i was told it was not available because now I was dealing with the Wedding Channel (how was I to know that?) so the special would not be honored. But wait, he could do it manually, but wait, the computers are slow, but wait, I cannot get expedited shipping, as I could have on the Macy's site, but wait, wasn't I on the Macy's site to begin with, but wait, we are partners but we are two separate companies, so you do not know who you are dealing with, each with their own policies, so wait, go to h### and cancel the order because this is fraud in my book. After over an hour, it was all for naught and I will never shop Macy's registry again.

every time i click on something that's listed here, macy's says " sorry, product not available". this is really annoying. maybe you should check availability b4 listing it on your website.

Extremely late delivery, poor customer service

I requested 2 day shipping for a Christmas present. The package did not arrive for two weeks, and then I was told that it might be another two weeks before it would arrive. They don't respond to online requests for help, and it's almost impossible to find their telephone number on the web site (it's 1-800-BUY-MACYS). Still waiting for delivery, three weeks later.

Horrible customer service, delivery and furniture experience - Be Aware of Macy's!

I ordered furniture from Macy's Furniture in Oakbrook, Illinois. We ordered a bedroom set, living room let and family room set all from Macy's. The bedroom furniture had to be touched up because it was slightly damaged. My coffee table has been exchanged 5 times so far. Macy's customer service area will tell you, if you experience this, that they will give the furniture a "presidential inspection" before it's delivered. Obviously, with 5 exchanges, this was a lie. The last time I received the coffee table, it did not even match the end table. Customer service is horrible. It's taken over 6 mths to resolve this issue, although I paid for the tables in full already. The Director of Delivery contacted me and I have yet to hear back from him on how this will be rectified, even though he said he'd return my call. I am EXTREMELY disatisfied with Macy's furniture. I would NEVER purchase anything from Macys again. I would NEVER recommend Macys furniture to anyone. They lie, are rude and will not resolve issues.

Terrible customer service. I ordered a jacket from Macy's online TWICE and it was cancelled both times because they forgot to update the website. Finally, I called customer service, who said the item was backordered, but that they would waive shipping if I was willing to wait. Great, or so I thought. I had asked for an e-mail confirmation for my order, which I never received. Had I gotten it, I would have seen that the customer service rep ordered the wrong size. I had to return the item I waited so long for. Now, having jumped through hoop after hoop, Macy's doesn't have this item anymore. Even after e-mailing customer service, I didn't even get an apology. Just a statement saying that my issue has been "resolved".

Department stores like Macy's are a dime a dozen. You can get most of the same items elsewhere. It's all about PRICE and CUSTOMER SERVICE. Macy's has decent prices, but terrible customer service. If customer service is important you to, I would go elsewhere. Personally, I'll never shop there again.

20+ years and still faithful satisfied customer

I have done business with Famous-Barr (now Macy's) for more than 20 years with complete satisfaction, both in-store and online. Yesterday, I placed an order with Macys.com and realized I didn't change the shipping address. I called the 800-289-6229 customer service number and the rep was VERY helpful. She cancelled the incorrect order and placed a new order with the correct shipping address. I received a confirmation e-mail within minutes with the corrected order. In the past, delivery has been excellent with Famous and I shall find out soon if Macy's is the same. I will post a follow-up review upon receipt of my order.

If you order they will tell you they cant cancel your order Buyer Beware no cancel option and some of the customer service people are incompetent.

I ordered a skirt last month that I never received. Sent numerous emails and made numerous phone calls still no credit. One of the calls they said it was no longer available so I would receive a credit.
This morning I talked to a supervisor 'can't make any promises as to when this will be resolved. I will send an email to the warehouse.'
I asked to be copied on the email and she said she couldn't do that. I asked for a issue number or some reference number I could give if this still isn't resolved.
She said she didn't have a number to give me.

I order online all the time and NEVER had this type of horrible service.
This is the first and last time I will order from macys.com

It was totally disappointing and not successful at all.

Today I saw in your circular that you would have a fit event now thru 8/28/07. I was so excited, because it usually is a do-it-yourself, trial and error job. I drove over 20 miles from Union County to Carolina Place at a time when it was not convenient because of family illness. I went to the foundation department and asked about a professional fitter. I was told that "I can be that person". RED FLAG went up with me. The lady (the only one in the foundation department) took me to the dressing room, measured me, and then we went to the sales floor. She looked for the size (which I knew when she measured me was incorrect) however, she never found one.
She spent a maximum of three minutes total with me (fitting and looking)and I never saw her again. The dept. was not extremely busy, but she never came back and asked to help. She told me to just look for myself. I could have done that at any store.

This was my first experience with Macys and probably my last. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I really don't think so.

Paid for new, but received used cosmetics

I paid $86.10 for a new bottle of perfume and they sent me an opened/used bottle.

I ordered an $86 bottle of perfume from Macys.com They sent me an opened and (badly) re-taped up bottle of perfume. When I called Macys, they said it may have been a display item or may have been returned. Either way, I never would have bought a used bottle of perfume. They said I could return it in person (like that is convenient) or ship it back to them at my expense. It's amazing how their 1st plan of attack is to try to get the customer to either do the legwork, or pay the shipping and they
only back down when the customer protests.

I am beside myself that a Macys employee thought it acceptable to packaged up some used display item and ship it to a customer. I am also surprised that Macys customer service thought that telling me it was returned or a display item was an acceptable answer. As if I'd say, "Oh. Well, in that case, that's okay!"

Boy, did they lose a customer!

I purchased a Samsonite suitcase from Macys.com but I received a different suitcase. So far I have contacted customer service five times. The first three times I requested the wrong suitcase be picked up and the correct suitcase shipped. Each time I was told the suitcase would be picked up in 5 - 7 working days and then the correct suitcase would be shipped. This did not happen. The fourth and fifth time that I called I asked for a pickup and refund. The 4th time I was told to ship the suitcase via UPS for a refund and a $6.98 shipping refund would also be issued. I found out that the bag would cost over $45.00 to return. I then made a fifth call. This representative promised to email a prepaid shipping label. I have not received the label. I have been trying for almost two months to get what I ordered or a refund. I advise against ordering from Macys.com.

Worst customer service in the world, filthy store

Tons of quality merchandise has been crammed into way too little space, thereby often harming the otherwise beautiful clothes. Can't find a salesperson to save your life. When you do, if you ever do, they know nothing and care even less. Filthy changing rooms piled high with discarded, stepped-on clothes. If you decide to purchase anyway, and you need to return something, they act like you are some kind of a con artist and grill you about everything even if you have the receipt, etc. A generally horrid experience.

The customer service I experienced was horrific. I was purchasing an engagement ring (not the best place to do it but my now-wife searched high and low and was in love with a style they had) so when trying to order it the sales person gave me a hard time and kept insisting I sign up for a macy's credit card. They put 3 different "managers" on the phone to try to talk me into it. It was very annoying and unproffesional.
