Reliable, Good Quality Store

Recently placed two orders with Musician's Friend, one of them quite large. All items were in stock and they were delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Had to call customer service about a couple of minor issues and they were knowledgeable and helpful. They may not be absolute rock bottom price, but over the years I have placed a number of orders with them and have always found them to be reliable.

WORST MUSIC STORE ONLINE!

Horrible Company! They have no idea what they are doing! My order was sent to the wrong address. I called the day I noticed the mistake(the day they shipped it),and I was told there was nothing they could do. I called repeatedly for two weeks and got nothing. They told me to call UPS and UPS told me I had to call them. I spoke with management and was rudely told it was my problem. Long story short, never got my merchandise and musician's friend can go to H**L!

I have ordered multiple times from Musicians Friend and they are top notch. They always ship fast and have great support. I don't know where these few negative people get their opinions from but I am well pleased and will continue to shop there in the future.
PS. If you belong to ASCAP they give you an extra discount!! ;-)

Good shopping experience, but I always research any product I want from them first by asking friends or music store clerks first. I never buy on impulse. I have tried to ask Musicians Friend customer service things in the past and realized I would be better off searching the net or message boards. They usually dont know the detail stuff. I have emailed many times and gotten no answer. If you are really serious about building a relationship with a store I would not recommend this one. I will say I get all my instruments fast and in top notch shape. They are an online service which to me the only thing good about them is there prices, but they sell a limited amount of brands. I think they should sell Aria guitars. If you are serious about an instrument and have a lot of money I would go custom made rather than Fender Gibson etc. Musicians Friend is ok but they need help with technical questions. I will also say they have hassle free returns.

Great Prices, Unbeatable Service.

I have spent thousands of dollars at Musicians Friend over the past few years. I have ordered over the phone and over the internet. There prices are better than average but not always the best. There customer service has been absolutely unbeatable. A big plus for me is that they offer an additional 5% discount to ASCAP members on top of there already great prices. I have purchased everything from guitars and amps to DJ equipment and studio gear.
I recently ordered a guitar case that I had seen a lower price (20%)on and they matched it instantly over the phone! Now that's what I call customer service.

I placed three orders from Online Stores just prior to Labor Day holiday. Musician's Friend was the last order placed, and was the farthest shipping point. It arrived on Sept 6th, and all was intact. Of the other two stores, one just shipped out this morning, and the other is in transit.

Generally Great, Sometimes Returns Re-Sold as New

Generally a great store, always fast shipping. My only gripe is that sometimes returned items are re-sold as new. Out of 13 items purchased since 2004, 2 of them have come obviously used, returned, and then re-sold to me as new.

Musicians Friend has completely lost it as a viable source of equipment for musicians.
I ordered a guitar 6 weeks ago and despite at least ten phone calls on my part and constant misinformation [or lies] from them I never received the guitar.
THEY HAVE CHARGED ME FOR A GUITAR THEY NEVER SHIPPED!!!!!
I have [I hope] cancelled the order and any financial obligation to them.
AND I was a good customer who had spent thousands of dollars with them up til this time.
We Shall see!!!!!

I have dealt with Musicians Friend on a few different occasions and have to say that they have the absolute best prices, the best array of products, and the best service that I could have possibly imagined. They told me a date, and it was on my doorstep on time from all the way on the other side of the country! I am getting to purchase from them again as I am writing this review. Great purchase experience! Thumbs up.

This organization is an online rip-off -they keep your money permanently. If you make a purchase via Paypal and have to return it for any reason, (like when they send you an item that was not properly described or defective), they keep your funds. That's right, they will not credit your Paypal account. Worse, they will only apply it to a telephone order...DO NOT use PAYPAL for another purshase as they will not apply these held funds. You will then be in the same boat if you try to return the new item -until they have all your money! They will not tell you this up front and that makes this purely dishonest by deception.

No Longer a Customer

On July 24th I ordered a drum set that was on back order. My email order confirmation indicated that the set (two boxes) would be shipped August 16th....I was fine with that. On August 20th, out of the blue, I receive only one of the two boxes. I received no shipping confirmation or tracking number via email, nor was the "My Account" webpage updated to show anything was sent...the order status indicates "Being Packed". As of this day I still have not received the 2nd box. This after countless calls and promises from them that it will be only be a couple of days...I get nowhere with these people. The storyline they give is that the warehouse move has backed everything up, yet they still advertise that products are "In stock & ready to ship"! Isn't that false advertizing? I'm cancelling my order and I'll never shop at Musician's Friend again.

They sold me an opened, blemished item as new. I noticed the dents too late for the return period so now they won't do anything about it. I understand them not being able to do anything because of their policy but the fact that they would sell a b-stock item as new will prevent me from shopping with them again.

What looked like a great deal has turned into a nightmare. When I ordered a Fender Acoustic amp two weeks ago the site said "In Stock." Then the availability date changed to a few days in the future...no problem...then a week... and then the date changed to two months in the future!
Strangely, the amp became available again last night (Friday) and then went back to the January 2007 date this morning. Hmmm. Is someone playing games?
Customer service gives brilliant and incisive responses such as "We didn't have enough to fill your order." That helps a great deal. Even my daughter's viola strings are back ordered. The D'Addario headquarters is just a half hour away here in NY. I could walk there faster and pick them up myself.

The guitar was Factory B-Stock - Excellent deal and it was even in tune - Have played same guitar in a music store and I see not reason to spend an additional $300 for something that is "Perfect" Would buy the guitar again.

I had made a previous purchase with a special bonus bucks offer, where there was to be an email with a code to receive cash off the next order, but I had to call into customer service because I never received the email. Customer service was helpful in getting the discount I was due.
