i orderd a guitar from these guys and they said about a week, so I ok and got off the phone. I woke up 7 days after and no truck came. I phoned musician's friend 2 days after to give the FedEx guy some slack and they said they didn't want anything to do with it.It arrived at my door after another week. I wouldn't recommend these people to anybody because of their weak service and thier lack of customer serivce.

I ordered a Bass from them. It showed arriving that day in inventory. When I checked on the order a day later, it showed it would be available in 30 days. I called them and got the run around and they blamed the manufacturer. I called them, and they said they had the bass in stock, but no order from Musician's Friend. I got the sales persons phone number and called Musician's Friend back. The customer support person was a lack luster, non caring, work averting slug. She refused to call the manufacturer to rectify the problem, said it was not her job and hung up. I called the manufacturer back, they arranged the sale through another dealer, and shipped it that day from the factory. I will NEVER, NEVER ,NEVER buy from Musician's Friend again.

Purchased two cables and one mic stand. Mic stand was supposed to be back ordered, but nope it shipped the same day the cables did. All arrived in good condition, no problems.

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THESE GUYS.... if you want to be sure of a stress free transaction. I ordered a 8 track digital recorder ($399) and was told it would be at my place in 4 days. Its been 7 days and they really have know idea where my package is except that it was never loaded on the truck from there warehouse. They told me that I had to wait another 2 days at least before they will do anything about it. I dealt with 3 different customer service people and really got the run around. I still have no idea wear my order is and if I am even going to get it. I would never ever think of doing business with them again. Its an uneasy feeling knowing they have $400 of mine and no information where my order is. I wonder how easy it will be to get my money back from these people?

Musicians friend has ripped my folks off for 2800 bucks. They purchased a new 1957 Gibson Les Paul black beauty historic guitar from their catalog. It came damaged with missing paint on the back end of the guitar, and Pitts and swollen areas all through the finish . They sent the defective guitar back to them . And Musicians Friend sent the same defective guitar back, and tried to say my folks did the damage to the guitar , and called them liars on a speaker phone. But we have a video tape of the UPS postal service opening the old used Gibson box Musicians Friend sent and showing the damaged guitar. Musicians Friend are dishonest people who will do anything to steal your money. We have a life time warranty on this guitar. They have refused to give them a exchange or their money back. THE people at Musicians Friend will rip you off , BEWARE. Many other people are warning people not to buy from them.Rotten nasty and rude. The people that work in their Salt Lake City area gave my folks a approved RA number for their defective guitar. And never made good on it.

I purchased what I thought was a set of 3 VHS tapes from these people in July. When the package arrived I discovered it only contained 1 tape. I immediately contacted them concerning the description on their website. They authorized a return, which I did, and I've been trying to get my refund ever since. They stalled me as long as they could with lies, now they don't even answer me. All I can say is shopping here is at your own risk.
Customer service is bad. If you need your product in a timely manner go somewhere else. Customer service lied to me about when product was shipped. Would not recommend to anyone.

I've been a Musicians Friend Customer for over four years now and I've never had any problems with this web-base company. Their Customers Service is excellent and their return policy it's great. It's a surprise to me to read bad reviews about Musicians Friend.

I have shopped at Musicians Friend for years and have always had an excellent buying experience. Returns are no problem, items are always well packed and arrive on time. I have only had one back ordered item throughout the past few years and was notified when the product would be available as well as asked if I wanted to wait. I have even ordered "bargin items", B-stock etc. and have always been pleased. Thanks!

Ordered some Bari saxophone reeds, and some other accessories, and got the order confirmation. The next day, I got an e-mail that 5 of the 6 reeds were back ordered, and more were due in stock in two weeks. The email stated that I knew that from the website. I did not, the reeds showed in stock. I guess they only had one in stock. I called and canceled the backorder, and reordered the reeds elsewhere. I have waited five days and still no Musician's Friend package from UPS either.
I have had better, faster service from them in the past, but they seem to be going downhill. I doubt I'll order anything again from them, especially if I would like it in less than a month.

I've been shopping at Musician's Friend since 1998, and I keep going back, because they consistently have great prices, and great service. I've purchased amps, microphones, effects, three basses, a mandolin, two guitars, a drum set, countless sets of strings, picks, straps, cords and who knows what else. Twice I've sent something back, because I felt it was defective, or not up to advertised quality, and each time they took it back and issued an immediate refund, including postage.
They're always friendly and helpful when I've had occasion to phone, particularly when compared to some of the other big on-line retailers. I try to patronize my local music stores whenever possible, but for those items they don't carry, my first alternative has always been Musician's Friend.
Ordered multiple items on 8, 2007. Got a few on time. However, I have had all kinds of problems with the largest and most expensive item. I was sent a wrong item, instead the one I initially ordered. 3 weeks have passed since their mistake, I have sent the wrong product back, and to make things even worst, I was charged the full amount for an Item I haven't even received. Called them up numerous times, talked to supervisors, customer reps, and no one is able to give me a straight answer. The excuse they give is that the warehouse is in KC and customer service in UT and they can only communicate by email. In this era , HOW IN GOD's NAME, CUSTOMER SERVICE DOESN'T SPEAK WITH THEIR WAREHOUSE PROPERLY??? IT'S SIMPLY something I can comprehend.
First and last time I'll ever buy from these people

Overall, it's been good. On this particular order because I ordered a guitar and a hardshell case, someone in shipping removed the guitar from it's original packaging and placed it in the hardshell case to ship in one box. Unfortunately,
the UPC code needed for a rebate was trashed when whoever the packer was did this. In emailing Musician's Friend to explain the situation and ask for a replacement UPC to be sent received a "Call Yahmaha. We don't send UPCs" . I called customer service to explain again and they offered to give me a store credit or credit my credit card with the amount of the rebate, i.e. $20. They do try to be responsive to customers. The "no" answer concerning receiving the item in good condition - one of the light bulb was broken. The box was sealed and I am sure that the vendor had no idea there was damage. Also it could very well have been damage which occurred during shipment. I don't blame the merchant, but it is a fact that the item was not in 100% good condition. Read more

Needed new drum heads to hit the recording studio. Website said they were in stock..that was a lie. Had I known I was going to have to wait an extra two weeks to get my heads because they were on backorder I would not have shopped at Musician's Friend. One item of my order (electric guitar strings) was back ordered. When it finally shipped, it was apparently shipped via the slowest method and I have been unable to track it, nor have I yet received this item (over 1 1/2 weeks later). I sent an email via the website at least 6 days ago and have still not received a response to that. I called customer service last week and was told that, since they shipped it via USPS, there was nothing that they could do except reship if it hasn't arrived by January 2nd. As this was a Christmas present, that response was not what I was hoping for. I am very disappointed that a) the backordered item was shipped via the slowest method without asking me if that would be adequate; b) that neither I nor they were able to track the package; c) that I have still not received a response to my email; and d) that they were so unresponsive to my phone call - there was still time to have reshipped the item via a faster method.
