You Can Not Trust These People. They Do Not Care About Their Customers.

Ordered a high end Yamaha french horn. Horn arrived when they said, but it had lousy sound and played "sharp" according to horn teacher. We sent it back -- I packed it myself and carefully inspected it to make sure there was nothing wrong. Musician's Friend said there were multiple dings in the bell and took a $100 "restocking" fee. No picture of this alleged damage, just kept $100. The guy who made this determination (at the shipping dock) was extremely rude, as was the customer service manager. I've ordered tens of thousands of $$ of equipment from these bozos, but never again. They can go pound sand from here on out.

THEY LIE ABOUT THEIR DUE IN STOCK DATES!!! THIS IS NO CONFUSION, OR MISUNDERSTANDING, THEY LIE ON THEIR WEBSITE TO GET PEOPLE TO ORDER STUFF, EVEN IF THEY KNOW IT'S NOT DUE ANYTIME SOON. I ordered two guitars, one was back ordered for 20 days(I knew) They sent the wrong guitar and by the time they processed the rma, my other guitar was backordered for another 10 days. Both guitars were due back in stock 13 days ago. If you go to their website, it shows my guitar as due in stock today(whatever today is, if it's 6/14, it shows due 6/14, if it's 6/15 it shows 6/15) I called and asked when I could really expect my guitar, they said they didn't expect a shipment until 7/16, a month and a half from the first due date they gave me.
I paid for my guitars on 5/10, it is 6/19, I was told they weren't getting my guitar until 7/16. Yet if you go to their site both guitars are "DUE" on 6/19, today. I will never do business with them agian.

I ordered a Telecaster from their "Blow out sales" ad that said "In stock, ready for immediate shipping." That was 10 days ago and it still has not shipped. Last week the customer service representative said it would ship the following Monday. It did not. I again contacted customer service and am now told that it "might" be shipped within the next 5 days. The first couple days their excuse was that they were moving their warehouse. The warehouse move is true, but of course they knew they were doing that before the advertisement for "immediate shipping" went out. The sales rep admitted that the immediate shipping part of the advertisement was a lie! I did business with MF about 5 years ago - I purchased a new Martin guitar that arrived with rusted, corroded strings, and rust bleeding though onto the fretboard. When I complained I was told that I could return the guitar, at my cost.

Musician's Friend Sucks

I ordered a set of virtual instruments. The item went from in-stock to 21-day back order the day I ordered. After 21-days, I hadn't received the order so I contacted them. The data entry person messed up and re-entered information, resetting the order date to the current date. I spoke with the "supervisor" who blamed the manufacturer, ILIO, so I contacted them. I was informed that MF was giving me a "song and dance" and offered to sell me a copy on the spot. So ... here I sit. If it wasn't for the fact that I received a $400 discount of the item, I'd purchase it from someone else. I can wait.

Bogus and ignorant! I am an Oregon resident temporarily staying with a friend in Washington state. My credit card is billed to my legitimate address in Oregon. I ordered a moderately-priced guitar from Musician's Friend to be delivered to the place I am staying. And they attempted to charge me nearly 90 bucks in sales tax! I telephoned them and spoke with someone who identified themselves as a 'supervisor'. I explained to both the customer service rep and his 'supervisor' that what they were doing is illegal. That I can walk into any retail location in Washington state, identify myself as a resident of Oregon and show proof of residence and sales tax is waived. These guys wouldn't budge! So I cancelled my order with them and went through another online seller who knew what they were doing and also got free shipping. Know what I recommend? Go with an internet seller with a higher IQ. This is one DUMB company!!

Items purchased: Yamaha mixer, Heil PR20 microphone. Musician's Friend had the best deal on the 'net for the Yamaha mixer, which included a free AKG microphone bonus. Both are great. The Heil was purchased with a stand and shock mount which MF reduced the price on in response to a price matching request. Items were received by Fed-Ex ground, ahead of schedule. Service was efficient and friendly throughout, and I will continue to use this company.

This company will rip you off. I bought a Sonor drum and cymbal set XS20. My son said that the cymbal was bad. When I email them that I would like to exchange it, i got a reply that it not returnable. So I email back what happen to your 45 day guarantee. I get tired to dealing so I end up with a bad cymbals. Please shop elsewhere or else your blood pressure will rise up. It is not worth it to argue with those people.

Incompetent. Sad but true. My second order with them. Screwed up same as before. My first review (copied to every review site I can find on them... that's how awful they are, that I'm going to spend a few hours of my day WARNING YOU to stay away... stay far away). Musician's Friend says they have things in stock that they don't. Don't ship when they say they do. Then take forever to process a canceled order once you've figured out they have their heads stuck. With the "oh, it's FedEx's fault". ... Sorry Musician's Friend but you blamed the last screw up on FedEx too. They are untrustworthy. I'm going back to brick and mortar.

Should be called Musician's Foe, I ordered a bass amp a month and a half ago and they haven't called me or emailed me anything. They should at least put "backordered" on their sh*tty website if the product is not in stock, then they should probably call the customer before this much time has passed where i'm in the dark.

I ordered an Epiphone mandolin from them, that was back ordered after I placed my order. They said if it would take longer than the shipping date they stated they would contact me. Several days after the shipping date, called to find out why I had not received a tracking number. They said the instrument was back ordered again for another 2 weeks. They claimed they had multiple orders for that item, and so mine wasn't filled even though they held the funds for the item. I just can't believe that many people wanted a blue mandolin.

Great company. Their price was $20.00 more than a competitor Etailer. They have a price match policy. After a call and a follow-up email they matched the price. Additionally, they had free shipping and the competitor wanted $9.95 With a little legwork I saved about $30. and the product arrived in about 5 calendar days with a weekend in the middle.

I have also been given the "On Back-Order-Treatment".
No notice, no email, no response to my calls and emails.
MF's apparent "buying power" was not sufficient enough to muster what was neccessary to obtain a set of strap-locks after 3 weeks. Come on, guys get with it...
I've written them off and the $16.00 bucks they took from me!

I bought from MF many times, my most recent a Blem Stratocaster, which arrived fast and New no less! The case arrived slightly scratched but the sent me a new replacement at no charge and 10% off for the inconvenience. I received these items within five days of the order. I can only say my experience has been 100% positive, and as a lawyer believe me, if they stunk you'd know it right now.
