Good prices but poor customer service. Missing items on two of three orders. Ebay is more trustworthy. Takes weeks to resolve issues. Not worth the the discounts.

Hostile Sales/Support Staff/Incorrect and Lost Shipments

There is a high probability that your order will be lost, shipped late and incomplete. If you call the sales/support number they sound like a bunch of rude skater board punks on dope. I found myself screaming at the several idiots encountered in trying to correct my orders. No one cares and they act like your a bother. I would support the previous suggestion -- get the on-line price and find a local store that cares and wants your business. A musical instrument is not like a refrigerator. Why pay top dollar and not receive what you expected? Be wise -- go elsewhere.

REQUIRED READING FOR MUSICIANS ON-LINE

Gettin' ready to buy musical stuff on-line? You can get amazing deals on-line, but you gitswatcha pay for. Because nobody is going to buy anything sight unseen, unless they have the option to return it, they ALL have 30-45 day return policies..Ever wonder what happens to all that gear that gets sent back? Bottom line? We're far better off with local stores who recieve their stock directly from the factory, might get a warranty covered "lemon". No problem. I've recently found out that my local music stores will "price match", if you print out the page from a web-site and show it to them. Same savings. No on-line stores that I dealt wth marked their boxes at all, although I hear that in some cases that's changing. But still, wouldn't you rather support your local economy, get a product that was only shipped once,from the factory to your dealer, and NOT have been used by an unknown Rock and Roll animal? Screw you Musician's Friend, A.K.A. ASSHOLES

What a stupid stuff. Ordered an power amp. It had a malfunction. I called them back and told them that the amp is no good. So they told me to ship it back, at my expense since I'm from Canada. Then I asked them about the re-shipment fees if they would be waived. They told me that their "Supervisor" (most likely some 18 zit-faced geek) said that I have to pay for it again, then they will reimburse me for it. Ya right, do I have stupid written on my forehead? If the shipping is suppose to be free, why do I have to pay for it upfront then wait for reimbursement? This store is truly pure garbage. Can't believe how crooked these people are. Honestly, I'm afraid to return my Amp, so it doesn't mysteriously disappear in that store. This is the reason why so many people a sceptical about buying on line. Musician's Friend SUCKS BIG ONES.

Poor service, frequent mistakes and no response

Musicians Friend regularly has delivery problems and doesn't bother to respond to emails about their issues from good (read multi-thousand dollar) customers. Last year they shipped me the wrong color drum set - they never corrected it. This Christmas they shipped a whole box of presnets to the wrong address in my address book. No reponse when I tried to contact them. Then they survey you about your household income instead of your shopping experience!
This happens over and over to their customers - just google "musicians friend sucks" for a sampling of the complaints from their loyal shoppers. Save yourself the trouble and spend you music dollars elsewhere.

Very Poor Customer Service

I ordered several items via PO (for a school district). One month later, I still had no items and with no explanation. I spent two weeks trying to get answers. I called, I left messages, I emailed. Customer service was horrible! No one knew anything about my order, calls were not returned. I finally spoke with someone today who could actually cancel my order. No appology, no explanation. I am extremely dissatisfied.
I would not recommend this retailer and I will never do business with them again.

Poor Service

Do not waste your time ordering from this company (or their alter ego Giardinelli for that matter). They will allow you to complete your order, they will advise how long it will take for shipping and they will charge you. Then, if you're lucky, you get an email a couple of days later stating that the item is on backorder. They will not actually give you the date that the item will be available unless you call their customer service department. So, you think it will be delayed a couple of days, right? In my case, it would not have been available until 5 weeks until after the order was placed. Add another week for shipping and it's 6 weeks after they charged my credit card. If you're looking to buy a gift for a particular occasion, don't expect to get it in a timely manner from this company.

MISLEADING ADVERTISING, READ TERMS OF USE CAREFULLY. BUYER BEWARE

I wish I had came here before buying. I purchased a Crate BT50 amp for my wife. They advertised a free crate barstools as a promotional gift. My order stated the barstool, and I expected a barstool. Well guess what no barstool so I called and the answer I received was "we ran out of those, sorry" I asked about a substitution. "No we just ran out of them" I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold for over 20 minutes before I hung up. Buyer beware their terms of use has a clause stating they do not guarantee the items you order are even what you will get, even after the order is placed. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MUSICIANS FRIEND THEY ARE A RIPOFF!!!!!!
At least the amp showed up after a two week backorder which the item was not listed as back ordered. I should have known than. What a crock!

I never in my wildest dreams ever thought that I would buy a brand new piece of equipment from a reputable online store and be sent a USED and DEAD piece of equipment instead! I was more than willing to wait on a back ordered item but MF was so impatient that they sent me a USED and broken piece of gear and charged me full price! And on top of that it was totally dead right out of the box! The only good here was Customer Service who took the broken gear back and refunded my money. Beware here folks!

Although some very good pricing on some items occasionally, the service SUX. Additionally, their "User Reviews" are inactive on some items. So go ahead and waste your time trying to add a review, and it may...but most likely will not take.
And when contacting cust. service with issues, they're clueless!!
So M.F.---If you're going to offer your buyer a tool to use in helping choose an item, HOW ABOUT MAKING SURE THEY WORK?!! Or just DONT F'N have them at all!!

I bought a small adapter from them months ago. I called when I hadn't received it, they said they were moving warehouses or something. I waited another week and they were very rude on the phone. One more phone call and they said they were still having small delays at the warehouse. Keep in mind, this is a tiny adapter that cost $5. I finally gave up...3 months now and never showed up.

I've been a customer of Musician's Friend for more than 10 years and purchased all kinds of equipment including power amps, speakers, recording gear, accessories, straps, picks strings, microphones, cables, tools, headphones, DI boxes, capos and more. Thousands and thousands of dollars worth I've always been happy with their delivery, customer service and return policies. The communication is very timely and the folks there are helpful. I've had a few returns and the transactions went smoothly. Not the lowest prices, but very close. I'm 100% satisfied

In the past I have been very happy with the service at Musicians Friend. This order I was sent the wrong item, I don't mean just color or something I mean not even close to the right item. I called about it and was promptly sent an RMA slip via email and I have now shipped the incorrect item back. I completely understand that mistakes can be made, the frustrating thing here, is that I was told that my correct item won't be shipped out until Musicians Friend recieves the incorrect item back. In other words they are holding the item that I paid for, that they didn't ship me correctly the first time and they will now wait to ship it to me until they get the merchandise back that I never wanted in the first place. Depending on how quickly that happens that means the main item I ordered won't get to me for at least 3 weeks. I could have had it for cheaper from 3 other companies and had it in one week. I chose Musicians Friend because I had had good luck previously with them and was willing to pay a few extra dollars to stay with a company that had treated me well in the past. Not sure how I feel now. It depends on how long it takes to even get my correct order.

I actually ordered two neckplates. One was backordered three weeks. After I placed the order, I was notified that it was backordered almost three months. This is frustrating and not the first time it has happened. I probably will not recieve it at all, based on past experience. I realize that Fender is at least partly to blame for this, however.
