Orbitz customer service will not resolve a mistake done on their part. I called to cancel a reservation however, the customer service person canceled the wrong reservation. Once my credit card bill showed up, there was a charge appearing for the hotel reservation that I canceled. I have contacted Orbitz several times to correct the problem....they will not take ownership of their mistake and credit me back the charge on my credit card, which is fradulant and illegal
BUYER BEWARE......I will never shop Orbitz again and will spread the word for BUYER BEWARE.

Easy to use, almost always the best prices, overall an excellent service. I have used Orbitz for all my travel needs, both domestic and international for a couple of years now. They continue to improve their interface and search options, now allowing you to be more flexible in your flying dates and times to find better priced fares.

Orbitz customer service SUCKS!!! BUYERS BE FOREWARNED and BEWARE!!!!

We purchased international tickets through Orbitz. Upon check-in at the airport, We encountered an unexpected glitch with the names on the reservation which prevented us from boarding the flight. While the people at the Delta check-in counter provided exemplary customer service, the complete opposite was true of the Orbitz personnel that we ended up speaking to! They offered absolutely no possibility of solution (except to sell us new tickets at a $1500.00 higher price) and simply resigned that our present $2500.00 tickets were (essentially) UNUSABLE!
They pretty much just said, that there was nothing that they could do and that we would NEITHER be getting back our $2500.00 NOR could we use the credit toward new tickets! Were it not for the people @ Delta who worked hard to resolve the issue, we'd have just been "screwed!" We won't EVER do business with Orbitz again!

stranded, unprofessional

Orbitz left us stranded in the Dominican Republic. Package purchased in October. According to Delta, flight schedule changes beginning of January due to rainy season. Delta states notified Orbitz in December. Orbitz never advised us, so we arrive at the airport for our flight according to our itinerary and it does not exist! 2 of us managed to catch 2 of the last remaining seats on an AA flight out and the rest were stuck for 2 nights at their own expense. Orbitz customer service is a joke. I was hung up on by a supervisor and another supervisor was to call back and 3 days later still has not. Delta blames Orbitz, Orbitz blames everyone else, including us!!

Not impressed with the site navigation or the claims of "Fantastic Pricing" we've used several other companies that seem better in terms of price and usability.
Orbitz doesn't have the vacation packages were looking for or the hands on tools to complete the task.
Look elsewhere for travel bookings like another online website that we use for all our bookings Ladolcetravel.com, it saved us a ton of money on our vacation packages and it was easier to use.

Orbitz does not guarantee you a seat on a plane.

According to a US Airways employee, when you book through Orbitz, you are only requesting a seat on a plane, and you are not guaranteed a seat even if you pick your seats online. The only way to guarantee a seat is to book directly through the airlines. My wife and I booked together and she ended up with a seat and I ended up getting bumped. She was forced to give up her seat since there were no more flights available until the next day.
Our flights were booked over a month in advance, and we both had confirmed seats on the plane according to Orbitz.
This was not the first time where I feared getting bumped on overbooked flights when I booked through Orbitz. I've encountered screw-ups in the past, but the issues were resolved at the ticket counter (when flying with American Airlines). The employees of US Airways were less willing to help and said that next time I should book directly through the airline. There will be no next time for Orbitz or US Airways. They have lost two customers for life.

I can not believe the hotel we reserved through Orbitz.com is not available, and it is under remodeling! There is almost a month before we reach there Orbitz can notify us about this issure! But we got nothing!
We reserved Guest House Inn on 105 W Park St. in Livingston of Montana on July 13 2006, about 60 miles away from Yellowston National Park. When we arrived there, we found there is no any cars on the parking lot and only a piece of paper sticked on the door saying: for remodeling.
Dam! It's 11:30pm, it is a hot travelling season, and it is so hard to find another hotel!

Customer service at orbitz stinks!

Beware - I booked a flight and rental car through Orbitz. I was offered limo service on the website, I clicked on it for more information. Then Orbitz charged my credit card. I canceled the service with the limo company and contacted my credit card company, they still charged me for a service I did not use. Customer service at Orbitz stinks!

Great site for comparison shopping, but awful and inept customer service. Emailed and called multiple times before our trip and was assured there would be no problem, showed up on the departure day and there was no reservation in the airlines' system and Orbitz customer service was completely MIA.

Shady Pricing Policies

This is one of the few sites that does not hold the ticket purchase price between selection and purchase. In other words, at any point in time between selecting a ticket and clicking "buy ticket" the price may rise or the ticket may be lost.
Don't buy tickets towards the end of the hour on this site!

AWFUL!!

Got confirmation for hotel reservation abroad - showed up to have reservation booked ONE WEEK LATER with no recourse to get a room.. After a 16 hour flight was thrown into tailspin to find new place to stay. Orbitz customer service of absolutely no use and have been unable to get my original money refunded.
What a ripoff!

I purchased a Super Shuttle voucher for my father to and from the airport and hotel. When he got to his destination, not only didn't the shuttle driver not know anything about the voucher, once my father convinced him the service was already paid for, he had to wait an hour before a driver would take him to the hotel.
Going to the airport he called the shuttle, was told one was on the way, then told there was none in the area and finally told to take a taxi to the airport. Orbitz customer service says basically, they're sorry, but they hope we continue to use their services. (Not gonna happen.)
My father is 65 years old. I arranged for this and now I'm sorry I trusted Orbitz at all.

Worst recommendation EVER

What a surprise to me that I would have taken the advice of a reputable company such as Orbitz to find us a hotel that would be decent enough to spend the night. As to my horror this was not the case. We chose "The Mango Inn", because it was rated 3 stars out of 5. The Inn is located in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. I would never advise anyone to take Orbitz for what they say. This Inn was the worst piece of *@#! I have ever seen. The guest door is made out of aluminum siding, no peep hole. $20 deposit required for key and remote control. 13" Daewoo television. No windows in the room. An A/C system (hi or lo) with a sign on the door that reads "Please turn off air conditioner and lights when LIVING room". To make maters worse Orbitz charged me $89 for the room when I arrived the nightly rate was $53 bucks (locally). Go ahead take the chance and trust Orbitz on their reviews as for me and my family, NEVER EVER AGAIN.

Every time we take a major trip, I expand my searching and incorporate several websites. And every time Orbitz ends up getting our business. Since they began, I have been unable to find better deals anywhere else. I will continue to test them every time, but I have have been very pleased with their service.

These people run a SCAM operation!
Go ahead and book a flight. It seems hassle-free indeed. Then try navigating the rest of the site with your mouse's navigation wheel. What you don't know is that the navigation wheel is no only scrolling up or down on the page, it's also selecting bizarre months and times for you to fly in and out of places. The result? You get to pay the airline $50 per ticket and Orbitz gets an additional $30 per ticket to change the "error."
THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAM ARTISTS! Avoid bending yourself over and grabbing your ankles by simply calling the airline directly.
