Reading some of the negative reviews here, it's hard to believe we're shopping with the same company. The Sharper Image has CONSISTENTLY provided me with absolutely the #1 best customer service imaginable.
When you call, you always get a human being - I don't think I've ever been put on hold - and their customer service reps are always knowledgeable, helpful, and polite.
Furthermore, they stand by their products. If something is still under the warranty period (that's a full five years, for example, for the Ionic Breeze), they will pay for the shipping BOTH WAYS, and they send the refurbished replacement right away.
If I had to name the retailer (online or otherwise) that I feel provides its customers with the best service, it would almost certainly be The Sharper Image.

The Sharper Image website is horrible. If you want one of their products you'd be better off getting it at the store, at least you'll get it fast and without paying pricey shipping. Placed an order, 2 weeks later still haven't received anything. When I called they said they were waiting for "verification," but had never contacted me for it. Customer service was rude.

If ordering from overseas (such as Australia, like myself), dont even bother with this store. They insisted on a ludricuous delivery fee of $69 USD for shipping of a $20 USD wallet. Basically 3 and a half times the price of the wallet just for shipping??? Ridiculous. Save yourself the headache close there webpage and go buy it from somewhere else like Mensfolio.com which even offer free international shipping on certain items. SHARPER IMAGE?? SHARPER RIP OFF more like it.

I ordered an R2D2 interactive robot for my son for Christmas. It was the only major item on his list.
I was assured it would be shipped on Dec 15th. They are not reliable. Beware! They have changed the expected date to mid January -- they did not contact me, I found out only by following up every other day. Had I waited until I expected to get it...I would have been very disappointed. I ended up spending double on ebay! Their customer service was terrible -- they did nothing ny phone but continue to say it's expected in January -- I emailed them and got no response! I am completely dissatisfied and will not order from them online anymore.

I ordered 7 items from them on Nov. 5th received a confirmation that they had shipped. A little while later 2 boxes arrived since they were large I expected all of my items to be in them. They were Christmas presents for my children so I left them sealed and put the boxes in a corner of the basement. Last week I was wrapping and I opened the boxes there were only 2 of the items I ordered 1 in each box with a lot of paper stuffing. All of my items were marked as shipped. I called customer service who said that even thought they were all marked as shipped some were coming from stores and had not yet shipped. They were graciously willing to pap for expedited shipping and I should have the items in 4? days. Yesterday everything but 1 came. If I had waited till Christmas eve to wrap my kids presents my oldest son who is 10 would have been seriously disappointed since these were his "big" presents.

They sent me a e-mail that said get $20.00 off a $60.00 order so i order $60 worth and after they sent one item a $40.00 i never get the rest of my order after i call them they tell me that the price on the other item was wrong on there web site and they will refund the money for the rest of the items so iam stuck with a $40.00 radio that i gave as a gift and didn't even get my $20.00 off! so this is there web site and they're prices and and they acted as it was my falt like i hacked there site and made up my own prices and they have the order in front of them and still they are clueless but they did offer to sell me the items i ordered for $9.99 at a higher price of $39.99

I have made Sharper Image purchases both online and at the malls. Their customer support has always been excellent. One time I went to the store a year after making a purchase of a floor lamp, and was asking for assistance to put it back in the original package for moving purposes. They were not able to put it back inside the box for me, but gave me a new one instead. That is awesome service, they are very supportive with helping their customers!
By the way, if you watch for coupons and sales, you can get excellent prices on their items.

HORRIBLE! The WORST ever! Mistakes, errors, inept policies, ridiculous fees, outright lies, unbelievable idiocy! Each Customer Service Rep tells a different story or piece of information that's not based on any truth just to placate you...
And that's just trying to REGISTER for the site! Took over an hour to get help, was passed from one 800# to another then told that I had to email to get help and would get a response within an hour... NOT!
To make it easy I just used a different email addy to register rather than go thru any more hassle!
Then ended up with a DUPLICATE order going to incorrect addresses, both charged to my credit card, yet not even a supervisor could, or would, help. -- That, after 6 more calls, 2 more emails and 24 hrs (which they told me to wait - "for the order to get in our system").
Then, "Oh, you waited too long! Should have called yesterday--the order already is on the truck; once on the truck, we can't take it off." Grrrrrr...!!!

First of all, I purchased a piece of equipment with their service/replacement plan. It broke within months so I returned it for a replacement. This one lasted a bit longer but also eventually ceased functioning. I contacted them regarding this and they said it was not their policy to honor the agreement more than once and I should contact the manufacturer since it has been discontinued. I called and was told the same thing, rudely.
I think Sharper Image has neat things, but their customer service, or the lack thereof, is extremely poor. Why sell something that continually breaks and then don't back it up with a service plan that a customer pays for? Basically, I paid 200 bucks for an item I can now toss into the trash and go buy a cheap knock off version on ebay. Sharper Image should be ashamed.

Terrible customer service. They sold me an item that did not do what was advertised and then the assistant to the president sent patronizing emails to tell me that I was the problem. I sent her the web pages to prove what I had ordered and its features and perhaps she was incapable of reading their own ad. I ended up out some money and extremely frustrated. I tried to email the president of the company as he had encouraged in his print catalog but the same uncaring person intercepted the message and responded. Overall, a company that has grown too big to deliver on its promises.
Buyer Beware. I thought I was making a wise purchase. A highly discounted Metro One CD player, albeit reconditioned, at a fraction of the normal retail price. Sharper Image's claims to the contrary, these 'reconditioned' units could not have possibly be checked by anyone before they are nicely repackaged and sold on the outlet section of their web site. I've already returned two of these for different problems. The second one had issues 'out of the box.' Annoying at best for a company at the low end of the retail market. Unacceptable for a company that maintains such a high quality image. I gave them the opportunity to make this right, but the best they could do was offer free shipping of the unit back to their warehouse and a small credit towards a future purchase at one of their high priced stores. Stay away from these 'reconditioned' products. It's not worth the time and energy!
Bad experience! I ordered a VW beetle CD player on line, it was described as "like new" and "perfect working condition". When it arrived it was broken and the wrong color. Customer service offered a return shipping label but offered no apology. I'm waiting for my refund.

I received an e-mail from Sharper Image with a LARGE Banner stating Free Shipping This week. There were no obvious disclaimers in the e-mail. After I placed my order i was charged $108.00 for shipping. After 7 calls to Sharper Image I was told that the free shipping offer was not good on the $600 i joy chair I had ordered. Sharper Image consistently sends out deceptive e-mails to customers of which I have spent thousands of dollars with over the last 2 years. Customer Service decided to read me some standard text repeatedly and to refuse to move my call up to a supervisor. I have decided to purchase the chair from another vendor who offer not just free shipping but no tax! Thanks Sharper Image for saving me some money!

I ordered a portable fan from the online Sharper Image store. They charged me $9.50 to ship a $19.00 item. The item was shipped using the least expensive service possible. I paid with a $50 gift certificate. The site stated I would receive a new certificate for the balance. I never did. They stole the balance of the certificate.
I have so far purchased 2 Sharper Image stereos and both looked nice but were terrible in sound quality.
The first one had no treble and base and the second had a very distorted sound which made it impossible to enjoy my compact discs on.
I have had extreme difficulty with their customer service and now their CEO Mr Richard Thalheimer in getting a refund or proper recompense for products which simply do not work.
I highly recommend you purchase a Bose and be done with it.
The Sharper Image stereos are poor quality and worse, they do not stand behind the product and you just get a run around in trying to get your money back.
