Very unhappy. Tungsten E malfunctioned I had the extended warranty BUT have to send it in as soon as they send the box. So I am without a PDA and very inconvenient. But at least it only took 3 hours on the phone and 6 phone calls to even figure out if they were going to anything. My friend had something similar happen but she bought hers at circuit city and they replaced it on the spot. I am livid.

Delivery speed: everything in time according to the schedule.
Delivery price: desk with hutch for 70USD with free delivery next day for a student without a car - good deal.
Prices: I bought calculator for half a price with their coupon, so it's great for a poor student as me.
Return policy: I had to return chair to the nearest store, everything came without any problems.
So, now wait for my camera and accessories. Hope everything will be fine.

I have shopped at Staples' stores about 15 years, and online for several years. I have a rewards card with them, so I receive free shipping. Some orders arrive the next day--must be my location because I've never been unhappy with their products (including their photo paper) or in store customer service. Returns are easy. I also like that you can return empty ink cartridges for $3 credit towards any staples purchase, and once a month they send you a check good for anything from staples (not limited to ink). Every few months I also receive coupons via e-mail for $10 off a total order. And they allow you to use more than one coupon per order (ink reward check plus coupon).

Ordered a chair for someone as a Christmas present which was shown as Next Day Delivery.
Contacted them 12 days after ordering only to have them cancel the order saying there where stock difficulties with no other explanation or apology (5 days before Christmas!).
No other contact from them at all saying the order was delayed or out of stock.
Ever been in a store and see an item on sale but none are left on the shelf? Well this is one way around just that kind of situation. Staples can go on-line to the on-line area and find that item by skew or item number and ship it directly to your house,business or office.
I have gone into Staples on a sale day to find the item I wished to purchase gone and no replacements in stock and went to the customer service area to have them find one on-line and have it shipped to my house. The best part was because they ran out and I got the shipping for free. Not all stores do that but Staples aims to please.
I have also ordered directly from the website and have always got exactly what I ordered and in a prompt timely manner with out excuses or problems. The Staples team is well into serving you whether on-line or in the store.

On Black Friday 2006, at 6am, I purchased a 32" LCD from Staples.com, received a confirmation and an expected delivery date. At 12:10 the same day, I receive a call stating that they 1)did not have it in stock or 2) would not be getting any more. I asked what my options were, and was told to go to the Staples store to make the purchase. Being the sale was only from 6am to 10am, there was no way to make that happen, or to even go to another store as all stores had their specials done by noon. Beware!!!!

I purchased a Bush Mission Pointe "L" shaped desk and hutch from Staples Online store. It was easy to find the furniture I wanted online. The catalog also clearly showed the dimensions and photographs of the product which was very helpful. I had actually seen the desk at a Staples store, and went online to find out more about it. All the information I wanted (dimensions, other matching furniture in the collection) was on the Staples website. I was also pleased to see that the very desk I wanted came with the matching Hutch for free! Delivery was also free, so I paid only $262.00 for a desk and hutch that would have been more than $400.00. I ordered it online on a Sunday evening, and Tuesday afternoon, my delivery was in my office. I also received a confirmation e-mail for my order, and again to confirm delivery. The delivery man wheeled my order right into my office.

They are happy to take your money - but as soon as I had a slight problem - nobody would talk at all.
I ordered office furniture. Well first of all they lost the order (even though I had a print out of the order from the online system). I reordered by phone, and they promised the free Assembly service would apply. One man turned up, who was just delivering it - nobody to assemble it.
OK, I assembled most of it myself. 2 major pieces were broken however. I tried the telephone line. You can get through on the sales number but "I'm sorry we are not allowed to connect you to customer support - that's a different number"
If you try ringing customer support - you just listen to that nice music for 15 or 20 mins before it cuts you off.
I did manage to talk with someone in sales (because if no-one answers the customer support call it is sometimes diverted to sales... - who said they would get someone to call me back.... it hasn't happened.

Never again! I purchased a desk and lateral file for my home office. One of the boxes was damaged and the driver wouldn't even take it off the truck because he knew nobody would accept it. They delivered the next day and left this huge desk in a box leaning against my front door. I called customer service and told them they needed to come and pick up the box because it was going to start raining and I couldn't lift it. Customer service (?) suggested I open the box and move each piece into the house individually. Of course, since the box was blocking the front door, that made it a much longer walk. Nobody came to pick up the box.
This afternoon I arrived home to find that they had come sometime during the day and entered my screened-in porch and left this wet box which was falling apart because of the rain.
First we ordered an executive desk chair, it came in two days, which was great but it was 4 metal folding chairs. So I called and they said that UPS would drop off a new chair and pick up the folding chairs. Well they double charged our account $200.00, without telling us, because they do not give a credit until the other merchandise is returned and the UPS guy did not pick up the folding chairs. It could take 10 days. Well they delivered the new executive chair. The other folding chairs are still waiting to be picked up. The new chair was broken. So they want to charge our account another $200.00 to send a new chair. If you have been adding that is $600.00 that they want us to float out of our checking account. I do not know about you but that is a lot for a family with 4 Children. I have gone through all this trouble and can not afford to do that so now I end up with no desk chair.
They offered no resolution.
Placed an order with them and OVER A WEEK later had not heard a thing from them. They took the money from my credit card of course. Having to try and get some sense form them via emails was very painful I'd steer clear of them!!

Apparently the whole system was screwed up at that point, they had reference numbers that were supposed to print on the receipt not print. Not my problem, they should have had that sorted out before they sold it to me. Next time I'm just not going to bother buying from them. Easy Rebates should be a whole lot easier than that. Don't waste my time.

DO NOT BUY COMPUTERS FROM STAPLES! Their extended warranty company "Assurant" did not honor my warranty, and denied repairing my notebook because they determined it was damaged by me, without actually diagnosing it and without providing reasonable or sufficient evidence to back it up. They just wouldn't cover it, and Staples refused to step in and help, and refused to even look at the notebook. It had no external damage, cracks, breakage, or anything!

I cannot believe how dreadful their delivery/pick up service is. I have been let down three times by the delivery driver not turning up to pick up a broken chair. The first time they didn't put it on the system. Second time, who knows, I rang at 16:45 to ask where the driver was and was told that they work until 17:30 & to ring after that. I did and was told that management had gone home and they would just register my complaint. Another day another disappointment. Rang today 14/10 before 17:30 , spoke to a snotty nosed team manager who said he would not do anything until Monday. They would not get it picked up on Saturday as they don't work then and he wasn't going to give me any customer service and that was that. I'm so angry, my blood is boiling. Will never use them again. Complete & utter rubbish.

I am trying to get a price match from Staples compared against BestBuy.com for a WD Passport HD product but Staples customer service keeps telling me that i do not have the same model number. I checked the model number on the parent site for the product and from all the online sites its all the same except Staples site. So this is like Staples is cheating me by having a custom model for their site only that does not even match the model number on the parent wdc.com site also. 1) Purchased this item at www.Staples.com, but my problem is with the new 'Staples Easy Rebate'. It was delivered but the software was missing. Staples replaced it immediately by picked up the 'defective' packaging and delivering another with everything intact. I submitted the $40 rebate was 'Invalidated' because the item was returned (even though it was a replacement-the replacement wasn't acknowledged). The system will not allow me to resubmit. 2) Purchased an 'After Thanksgiving Special' with strict requirements and met all if it yet I received an email stating my Staples Easy Rebate' request for TEON MEDIA DVD+R 40 PK due to "Invalid Purchase Date", even Staples Customer Service has reviewed and confirmed that I've met all the requirements, however, Staples Customer Service says can't do anything because "it's the Rebate Center that has to take care of the problem". So they continuously refer me to the same toll-free number with no actual person to talk to and each step reduntantly states informaton that my request was declined because of invalidated date. Working in Manhattan one sees many Staples but the problem is the long lines to check out. So online ordering is the way to go. All I needed was toner for my printer. They have a great feature that allows you to find the right ink/toner for your printer without having to search to hard.
I ordered what I needed and it arrived the next day! Outstanding!
Staples could improve the look of their website (it's very unappealing) but all in all they have a pretty good site.
Be very careful when they say something is in stock. I have ordered 3 items from them in the last month that showed as in stock on their website but in reality would not be available for 3 weeks at least.

Over the past year I have purchased several items from Staples. I have not encountered any problems with their products or delivery. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for online or local store purchases.

We bought a computer monitor online. The website was extremely well done and easy to use. The monitor arrived within two days. Incredible experience. I would highly recommend buying from Staples.
I ordered a telephone with an answering machine. When it arrived, it was broken, however the packaging was perfect. When I asked about getting another, I was told to go into the store. At my local staples store, they didn't want to do the exchange, even after speaking to the manager. At last I received a new one, but after about three weeks it completely died. I brought it back and was told after 14 days it's not staples problem. I went back to the on-line store and e-mailed my story and was told that staples does not back up the merchandise after 14 days. This was a $75 phone!

Terrible. Stock systems is very poor and customer service is even worse. I had to reorder twice, to be canceled twice without notification. I would think if they canceled my order twice, they would try to keep me as a customer. Guess not! I all but cured from shopping at staples. The online experience is so poor that I'm definately not going to the B&M any longer either.

Where to start... First they mix up my order. They ship the wrong number of items, in their favor (surprise, surprise). After a week of phone calls, they reluctantly acknowledge their error and credit me for the missing items. Next, I submit a rebate using their Easy Rebate Center. I do everything as I am supposed to. I get an e-mail confirmation that my rebate has been accepted and a link to check the progress. I wait the 4-6 weeks for processing. Then I wait some more. Now it has been over 22 weeks. Their response is that they have no record of the rebate in their system, even though the record is as clear as day in the link they sent me. They later acknowledge that the record in the link is valid, but now they say they can not process the rebate because the rebate has expired. Duh! The rebate has been in their system for over 22 weeks and no one was processing it. This is the fourth rebate that Staples has refused to honor. So don't be fooled by their tempting "after-rebate" prices. You'll never see the rebate.

No problems at staples at all!!! I ordered on Dec 1 at 3pm and received shipment for free on Dec 2. The delivery guy originally showed up at my house at 1pm, but I was at work and didn't expect it so quickly. He called me and said he could come back when I got home, at 6:00pm!! I am extremely impressed in the delivery speed and professionalism. Also, this item originally was out of stock and I called their customer service. He said they would call me when the item was available. They called this morning, on Dec 2! All around a great experience.
The only thing I am disappointed about is that we don't have a Staples in Houston!!!!!! Why not?????

I ordered networking equipment that came with a rebate on the last day of the rebate only to try and redeem the rebates on-line and their system declined my rebate! I was moving and changing jobs so I didn't get a chance to argue with customer service about it so I would paying regular price for the items when I could have ordered the networking gear from somewhere else much cheaper. Believe what the other's say - their customer service and on-line system sucks. Stick with the store and paper rebates.

Purchased memory for a PC. Used a Debit card. Returned the product for refund. Staples "put it back on my card" but did not mention it would take 3 days for the money to show up in my account. When I called, they said they do not usually tell people about the delay in the refunds.
Will not purchase anymore products there for me or for my government job.

Ordered a Nikon 4600 from Staples.com, as the store was out of stock for a Birthday present for wife. Ordering and charging credit card was very prompt and tracking info was good. When package was received, was no problem with top or side of package, but bottom had a HUGE (for a digital camera) opening that was very apparent that had never been sealed. A piece of shipping tape had been placed over part of this opening, however, was disappointed that cardboard was not there on space at least 3 times as wide as tape. Camera was VERY loosely packed inside outer box, and didn't even take it out to see how damaged it was.
Took the "unopened" (being very generous about it ever being sealed) box to local store and was po'd that their reaction to the worst packing job I have ever seen was "okay, we'll issue a refund to your AMEX" (as if they were doing me a favor, that I wouldn't have had it charged back to them.)
Their care in shipping and customer service has made me wonder why I didn't order from Office Depot in the 1st place.

Delivery is very fast. If ordering before 4PM on a weekday, it will be processed that day, and shipped the next day. I ordered an inexpensive product from in the store online, and paid at the register. I like that I didn't need to provide my credit card online. There was a delivery fee, but the associate that helped me waived it. Staff in the store is very helpful, and their website is very Easy. Also, in general, they give lots of coupons, which save very much money.

Staples Scam. Staples does not celebrate the same holidays as we do. Ordered one gift only for my kids this holiday season: A Kodak printer dock. The printer would not print. Tried everything in the manual. Went out and purchase a new memory card and new paper and cartridge (an extra $60 of expenses) and still would not print. Called Kodak customer service and they could not diagnose problem. Told me since it was such a recent purchase that I should return item. Staples online would not return it because it was past 14 days of purchase. Obviously they are scamming people into buying holiday gifts knowing that by the time the holiday rolls around and gifts are opened, it will be past 14 days from purchase and they do not have to stand by their merchandise. It's their way of passing on defective merchandise to the consumer without having any accountability.

Staples.com erroneously said an item was in stock and allowed me to order it. When they finally told me it was out of stock, it was too late to order it from another store in time for Christmas.
I ordered a answering machine/phone combo (Uniden CXAI5198) from Staples.com on Sunday in the week before Christmas 2005. The Staples.com web site said the item was "In Stock" and I received an immediate email saying the order was being processed. Two days later, I received an email saying the item was Out of Stock and that it might be back in 5-6 biz days. By that time, it was 3 days before Christmas and too late to order it from another source in time for Christmas.
When I complained to their Customer Service, they apologized but offered nothing more than to put it on backorder.

My experience is actually with Staples Easy Rebates on line. This process so far has been anything BUT easy. There is continual technical problems on their website, and 2 e-mails I have sent have gone unanswered. I would be reluctant to deal with them again.

Major problem. I ordered a computer cart at Staples with a clerk who ordered it on line. It took 5 business days to get here and I ended up having to pick it up because UPS couldn't find the house. We get the article home and it is smashed. We call Staples on a Saturday (big mistake); could get nothing except an apology that they were very busy and try Monday. This delays the whole thing as we wanted this for a Christmas gift. I will update this review later. By the way, the person we spoke to on Saturday did say that the problem would have been easier to resolve if we had ordered it ourselves on line. What is the difference?

Horrible phone customer service. I spoke to an extremely rude woman, Doris, regarding a replacement purchase plan on a calculator I purchased two years ago. When I asked to speak to someone else, she actually said, "So they might give you something you're not entitled to?" Then,s she compared by calculator purchase to a car purchase. When I indicated that it was not an appropriate comparison, she indicated I called her stupid. Unbelievable attitude. Bottom line: DO NOT BUY THE STAPLES PRODUCT REPLACEMENT PLAN. They do not stand behind what they tell you.

I am happy with all of Staples Stores, and all that they have to offer. Their staff is very helpful about everything that they have to sell and if one sales person does not know anything about a product, they will direct you to someone that does know. I really like the service that they have to offer and the free delivery of a product if it is $50.00 or more. They do a really good job with everything and I only wish that they keep up the good work and at all times. Good job Staples!

I ordered a file cabinet from Staples, and got free delivery- with a few hitches.
Please be aware of the following:
* Staples will not send out any emails regarding the delivery - you need to log into their website to find out what day your delivery arrives.
* The only timeframe you will get is "between nine and five" (I had to call customer service for that information).
* The item will only be delivered THREE FEET inside your house - or you need to pay the driver extra.
So.. for heavier items, free delivery isn't that great -unless you have the time to wait for an entire day - and a couple of strong arms available to haul the item where you want it to be.
The availability of items was very good, but the lack of information provided regarding time of delivery and shipping options deters me from recommending this site to anyone.
There was a special offer for my digital camera: buy the camera, get some memory free. First of all, on the website they claim that the camera would be delivered next day. When you add it to your shopping cart, it's five days. OK, I got the camera in five days. The memory, although listed as a bundle, did not add to the cart properly, although the coupon number was included. A convenient glitch in the web site design, I guess. It took three phone calls and three weeks to finally get my memory. Their slogan should be "That was a pain in the neck", not "That was easy"! While this was going on, I checked other reviews. It looks like Staples has some difficulties keeping up with their own special offers. So, buyer beware!
I am a staples employee (and a university student).
1. I can check or company wide inventory at any time, and i often check on high dollar front page items before major sales.
2. More often than not the best deals in the newspaper for printers, laptops and the like are items that most store do not even have in stock or are very limited.
A few weeks ago we ran an add for a 550$ HP laptop that we had 0 (none) of, the store with the most only had 10. The website was also 'out of stock'.

It is my overall plan to do more than my fair share to hold companies that take advantage of people accountable and disable them. It is not just business and just working there violates my ethics, but I do not lie to customers, and for that my job will most likely soon be at stake.

The prices at Staples are outrageous compared to those of other online stores. I actually feel sorry for anyone that does not do their research and shops at Staples. When comparing prices on 16GB SDHC flash memory I found the price at Staples to be $99.99. I found the exact same product for $26.99 + $3.99 shipping elsewhere. Blank DVD media is yet another horror story. Staples averages twice the price of any other stores from what I have found. PEOPLE! Please shop smart. Don't shop at Staples.
