I ordered a book wanting a specific paperback version. TextbookX showed a picture of the paperback cover that I wanted but when I received the actual product, the book had a different cover from what was advertised on their website. I emailed text support asking for a full refund including my shipping charges and received an email from them agreeing to my request. It has been a month and I haven't gotten a full refund. Instead, I got a partial refund that doesn't even cover the book price, let alone the shipping charges. They never respond to emails and simply ignore my requests for a refund. I should be charging them interest! I will never shop there again. They offer very poor customer service.

Textbookx is the best deal with the worst service. It's easy to post textbooks for buying and selling but hard to actually sell them .The site isn't well known. Amazon gets a lot more traffic and bigwords, has more selection. I would recommend textbookx for beginners but once you master selling and buying books on-line, move on. Don't bother sending e-mails to customer service, long pointless process, your best bet is taking your chances and calling customer service. Make sure you check what edition of the book you getting some deals are to good to be true.

This site works well and is easy to navigate. Prices seem good but selection is limited. You can search for books one at a time for you can key in a list. Shipping is also reasonable. My biggest concern is they don't seem to have a lot of books in stock and rely instead on sales through individuals on their marketplace.

Ordered 2 books. First book was cancelled by seller (even though the website said it was in stock) within a few days. Second book was marked as shipped but I never received it. Contacted customer service through online chat several times and they told me to wait and that their records indicated it had shipped. Finally (after 1 month), they agreed I could cancel the order, which involved contacting the seller and asking him to approve the cancellation, then contacting Textbookx again to refund my purchase.

Terrible that you pay up front for a product that it never sent - at first I thought it was fraud, but after several months was reimbursed for both books. Since, with shipping charges, it is generally cheaper to buy all your books in the same place, they are deceitful in not telling you which are unavailable up front.

Will NEVER shop here again. Online chat is a nice feature but very slow (~1 hr/session).

Horrible experience!!!! I sold a book using their site, it was purchased instantly and I mailed the following day. More than 2 months later I have still not been paid, and have gotten the run around from foreign sounding customer service reps on three separate calls. If payment is not made within 5 days I am contacting authorities.

Been using textbookx.com for 2 years now and absolutely love it. The prices, delivery and customer service have always been better than any others I have tried. I had one mix up last year on an order which was my fault and they made good on it immediately. When I find a good thing, I stick with it and never have regrets. Their exchange marketplace is fabulous technology and gets me the best prices when I’m buying or selling my used books. Most of my friends use them to purchase new and used textbooks and I haven’t heard of one problem.

I am very upset at TextbookX.com. My husband is taking on-line courses through an accelerated college; his classes are two months long. It is very important that he has his book at the beginning of class so he doesn't fall behind. We ordered an International Business textbook and we received a book on child development. Having worked in shipping, I find this a huge mistake; it doesn't take very long to glance at the order form and the book you are packing to make sure they match up. The order form is correct, but the book does not match. They could overnight the book and have it here in time for my husband to complete his first homework assignment, but they won't. They weren't very apologetic for their mistake either. This mistake of their's has caused my husband to have to drop this class and will move his graduation date back.

Do not waste your time or money on this one. I ordered a book - waited over a month for it to arrive which it never had. Contacted customer service who suggested it was in a sorting office somewhere. Two weeks later - still no book. So I cancelled the order and to my disgust they had the CHEEK to charge me a 10% restocking fee! Restock what?! The book never arrived!! They also refused to discuss the issue over email and insisted I call their customer service line. This has been disconnected. I suspect this is a scam.

I'm also reporting these people to the BB bureau. You've been warned. Stay WELL CLEAR.

TextbookX.com is a terrible place to sell your books. They do not pay by check and delay paying you with either store credit or a credit to a charge card as long as possible. I sold $140 worth the books through them in early January 2007 and still have not gotten a credit to my credit card, even though they promised to do so immediately over the last 6 weeks on multiple occasions by telephone and email.

Avoid them like the plague that they are.

TextbookX.com released the funds to the seller upon receiving the USPS notice that a tracking number had been assigned, not the book had been delivered like their site states. The seller never shipped the book so I requested to cancel the deal and receive a refund.

No response and no refund.

The site can be used as a scam and TextbookX does nothing but facilitate the scammers.

TextbookX.com is a horribly designed site, there is no phone number to call or any other way to promptly resolve issues. I ordered a book from the site and never recieved it. The only way to contact the seller was through some email message and the correspondence took days. This site is garbage I would never buy anything from them again.

Textbookx is a good all-around site w/ pretty cheap prices. They have a lot of used books available, which can really save you money. The prices on Half are cheaper, but its more of a hassle and you don't know what kind of a person you're buying from. But on Textbookx they stock the used books themselves. The used books I bought were in great condition, basically looked new. They also give out scholarships every year.

I haven't had to use their customer service, since my orders didn't have any problems, which is a good thing.

I ordered a textbook with a promised shipping of 3-5 days. It is now 18 days later, the book is not received, no shipping tracking information was received, TextbookX.com has not responded to my inquiries. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!

I waited for nearly a month for my biology text to come, it never did so finally my money was refunded... three weeks into the semester. In the meantime customer service was terrible; it took them a week to return emails. The icing on the cake was that they gave my credit card number to another company (AP9*PASSPORTTOFUN) who promptly charged it and signed me up for their membership. What a pain...

The individual who sent me the book was of great service and sent in a timely manner. However, I am extremely displeased with the customer service of TextbookX and the way my order has been handled. I have had to call customer service multiple times, they tell me they will fix the amount I was charged and have yet to see my money back. Beware of being charged extra, check your order statement and bill.

Great online book store. Excelent customer support. I placed and order only before a week ahead of my exam. I was woried. I called up customer serviec and they assured that I will get the book soon. Same thing happened. I am happy. I told the friends about it. Next time if I want to by books, I will vist textbookx.com.

I placed an order a week before school. THe next day i realize it was the wrong book. I called their customer service and asked the order to be cancelled. The rep said that it cannot be cancelled because the book has been shipped. I waited THREE weeks before the book came. TWO weeks into the school year. According to the postage, the book was sent a week later than when I called. So I am guessing the rep lied so they wouldn't have to cancel the order. Now I have a $70 book that no one is buying.

I ordered a hardcopy of a book and received an audiobook instead. I was told that I would have to pay a restocking charge. I was unable to resolve this matter with their "chat session". I was not at fault for this order mixup and see no reason for a restocking charge. Having to pay $4-$5 for packaging and postage to return the audiobook, this is just adding insult to injury.

I would highly suggest not ordering from this website. I ordered a book that I needed for a class over a month before I actually needed, and payed extra for Priority Shipping just in case. I tried to contact TextbookX, however there is not a phone number to call, only email and fax. I emailed them about my concern and they emailed back saying to contact the third party seller (which i had already done about a week prior and had gotten no response). USPS has no record of this package even being shipped, and TextbookX has not taken any action thus far. I am very disappointed in their service, and now it is too late to order the book from anywhere else so I am out of luck. Think twice before ordering from this company, I would strongly discourage you from it.

I ordered a textbook on Tuesday afternoon, January 27, 2009.  I did not hear until the middle of of the night on Friday (actually 1:19 am Saturday) that the book was not available and would not be sent to me.  This was 3.5 days after I placed my order.  Unacceptable!

Also the email was misleadingly titled "Availability Confirmation."  With that kind of title, I might not even have opened the email immediately.  Now I have to get the book through my college bookstore, where I will pay $27 more.

I made an order for two textbooks for the upcoming semester. After making the order, I got an email thanking me for creating a new account (which I had not created), but I got no no information about the order that I had made. I tried emailing support (via the form on their site) but got no reply. The following day I tried calling Textbookx's phone number multiple times, getting a busy signal every time. The following day, I tried calling the contact number for the parent company (Akademos), and was able to get through. There, I was told that my order number didn't exist. I then promptly went elsewhere to find my books and they arrived in the time that it took me to find out that Textbookx had lost my order.

Nice advertised prices, but good luck getting the books you want. This may be one of those cases where you get what you pay for.

I thought I would save some money by ordering from them. The book took almost a full month in getting to me. It was advertised with the CD for the book. The CD was not in the book. I sent an email with my complaint. I was never contacted. Finally I was able to use the online chat and the service was horrible. TRUST ME. GO TO SOMEPLACE MORE REPUTABLE. YOU MAY PAY A COUPLE OF DOLLARS MORE, BUT IT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT. I AM CONTACTING THE BBB TO REPORT MY EXPERIENCE. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD IN NO WAY BE DOING BUSINESS.

They charged me very fast but I got nothing and no contact. When you asked the reason for delay, each time they always wrote back ONE sentence which was meaningless. Although I asked for refund and they said OK, they still sent it out after 14 days. I asked my credit card company stop this payment, and they are investigating this case. Do NOT waste your time and money in TextbookX.com!

This company practices false advertising of Free Shipping on Google Shopping. They need to update their Google Shopping feed to only show free shipping on order over $50, as this is their company policy.

Do not purchase anything through this company ! They give your credit card information to other companies and disguise their methods by pretending they are giving you a 25$ rebate on your next order. After you "agree" to the rebate by entering your email address , you have enrolled in a scam club ..the number they give you to cancel your trial membership is a fake! I have called endlessly and it's busy...I called textbookx to find out if theycould give me any assistance, they gave me another number..i finally got in touch with someone after 45 minutes on hold they told me I wasn't in the system yet that i had to call back in 2-3 days...then they'd cancel it...It's scary that they can just give your credit card information away like this...Countless websites show that people have had the same problem .... God i wish i could rewind.

At first I was hesitant to order books through textbookx.com because of the numerous bad reviews I read, but the prices were very good, too good not to try. I ordered three books for my college classes at a substantial savings and all were delivered in proper time and exactly what I had ordered. Two books were new and one was used.
It is also important to note that I tried to order one of these books two weeks earlier through Amazon and it took them five days to tell me it would be delayed by one month, and do I still want to continue with my order? It took them five days to tell me that? I was rather disappointed because I have had good results through Amazon many times before? Go figure. Anyways, remember it is usually only the problem orders that prompt people to right reviews, which of course will be negative. I took the time to come back to this site and give a positive review of textbookx.com as I did have a good buying experience.

This was the worst transaction I have EVER had with an online vendor. I was charged twice and their customer service has refused to refund my money. I have called three times now and have had absolutely not one ounce of customer service. The only they have told me is that nothing could be done today and to call back tomorrow. What is the point of customer service if nothing can ever be done to service a customer that you have fraudulently charged? Google is a name that I associate with trust, reliability, and assurance. I am surprised to find that Google would associate themselves with a company that does not value the same standards. After doing some research on this company I was not surprised to find many other complaints. This will be the last transaction that I complete through Google check out. I would strongly discourage others from making purchases from textbookx.com.

Well, ten days ago, I ordered a book that I desperately needed by last week, so with the holiday weekend, I paid for next day air on a Friday, knowing it wouldn't get there until Tuesday, maybe Wednesday, but I was okay with that. Well, it's the following Monday and I only just got an email telling me it has been shipped. I am writing to them to see if I can get my money back, I paid almost twenty dollars for that shipping and I might as well have gotten it by snail mail. I am very disappointed.

I sold a text book through Textbookx.com and was disappointed that they give you a shipping credit since the seller has to pay for the shipping but it wasn't enough to cover the actual cost of the shipping so I ended up having to pay out of pocket an extra $3.50 just so I could send the book Priority as the buyer requested (not the buyers fault). I would not recommend using this sight for that reason, you end up spending too much money on shipping since the seller has no control over how it is shipped or where it is shipped.
