The wine was backordered, so it took longer then expected. (~3 weeks). The wine arrived before the email notifying me that the order had been completed/shipped, so I suspect there may be a lag in statusing the shipments out of their warehouse. When I had problems with a previous order "Cat" in the customer service dept was extreamly helpfull and responsive in correcting a shipping error.

Wine.com seemed to have the best prices on the monthly gift of wine. I couldn't find any better. I'll have to wait to see if the quality of the wine suffers for the inexpensive price, but I'm hoping not. The website was clear and easy to navigate. Purchasing was easy. The first delivery worked well. My only suggestion: Since this was a gift, it would have been nice to get something to present to the recipient prior to him being notified via email about the gift. His initial email notification ruined the surprise.

Everything was fine. The only problem was that 2 of the late bottled vintage ports that I tried to purchase were unavailable. One was noted as unavailable when I made the purchase, the other was apparently available when I ordered but I received an email saying it was not available.
The updates on order progress were very nice.

I received a message a week after placing my order that the item was out of stock. I felt I should have been notified imediatly. I complained to customer service, they did't care. I had shopped at wine.com approximatly every 6 months for the last two years to purchase gifts. Never Again!
