I ordered shoes for my son from Zappos.com, and was pleasantly surprised when they not only offered free shipping, but shipped them earlier than expected.

I have made several purchases on Zappos, but the last one left such a bad taste in my mouth that I will not be purchasing from them again. They sent me a pair of Born Somali clogs that were clearly defective. I returned them and re-ordered the same pair. 9 days after my return Zappos had not processed the return or credited my account. I sent them an e-mail inquiring about the status of my return and letting them know that if my card had not been credited by the time I got the statement, I would not be paying for the returned defective items (only for the re-ordered items). Zappos response: "if you initiate a chargeback we will be forced to close you account and ask that you shop with another online retailer". Yeap. Good customer service, huh? So I responded to their e-mail confirming that I would be doing exactly that. Don't buy from them!!!!!

Great selection of products, website is easy to find everything in my personal size, received purchases within two days and in excellent condition.

Never shop at a shoe store again! Zappos provides a large selection of shoes that are otherwise hard to find. My dad has a foot problem and has difficulty finding shoes. I bought 4 pair from Zappos for him to try on. Delivery was super fast. He pick two pair and sent 2 back with no charge for shipping and handling. They were the most comfortable shoes he's ever worn. Now I created a monster. He wants me to order more. My wife and two daughters are hooked on zappos as well. (There is no more closet space). Try on shoes conveniently at home. If you don't like them send them back. It's that simple.

Zappos allows you to try and buy shoes without the hassle of driving and without the expense of return postage if they don't fit. It's a winning formula. Zappos has a remarkable assortment of styles and sizes (including hard to find stuff like vegetarian-friendly shoes or 'weird sport' shoes). Prices range from standard to pretty good for sales items: even if you have to pay full price, it's worth it because of the time and gas savings, which is especially true if you are looking for a hard to find size. Zappos offers free overnight shipping, meaning you get your new shoes the next (working) day (talk about almost instant gratification!), and you can print a label and return them if they don't fit-for free. Contrary to other stores, Zappos is quite fast in crediting your account when you return the shoes-a pleasant change. I have been a Zappos customer for almost 5 years now, and intend to remain so. Zappos now sells apparel and bags, and given their fantastic return policies I'll be buying a lot more clothes online... once they start selling clothes I can wear.

I have had good experiences with Zappos and spent thousands of dollars on their site.

A rep on the phone asked if I would be interested in joining VIP.Zappos which guarantees same day shipping if you buy before a certain time and returns and credits processed with 2-3 days vs 7-10

Since being a "VIP" , I have had 2 experiences where I sent shoes back. It usually takes a week from the day I ship them until they arrive in KY.  There was no notification of the return; my credit card wasnt credited within 3 days.

I had to call Zappos each time to see if the shoes were received and if they were going to process my return. The reps I spoke to were, not as professional, as others I have dealt with.

If a company offers to "upgrade" you to some special level of service then I expect  there to be a better level of service. VIP Zappos is the same as regular Zappos and they shouldnt advertise something they dont offer.

I ordered my shoes around 1am and they had my shipment packed and ready that very morning. In addition to the already free standard shipping, they upgraded my order to 2nd day air delivery at no cost. In summary, I ordered my shoes Sunday night and received then Tuesday morning.

This is a terrible site. They have littered search engines with so many seemingly separate companies which all lead back to them so it is next to impossible to shop elsewhere. Sale prices are not competitive with other sites including nordstrom.com, spiegel.com, etc for the same shoes, however if you are looking for a specific brand and style it is impossible to use a search engine to find a competitor.

Zappos is the best online store on the net. Wow! I received excellent service, free shipping (2 day), and great shoes. I urge people to shop here! Zappos has raised the bar for the online shopper.

Zappos is the BEST! I have shopped dozens of on-line stores over the past several years, and none compare with the all-around satisfaction from a Zappos experience. Their selection of shoes and handbags is extremely broad, the site is very easy to navigate, the detail available on each item is extensive, their follow-up emails on your order are fast & they offer tracking -- which I've never had to use as the order is here before I even have a chance to wonder when it will arrive. Their shipping time is nothing short of amazing. I have placed 3 separate orders over the past 3 weeks. Two orders were received within 36 hours, and one in 24 hours. The items were exactly as described and ordered. An added treat is free shipping. I've not had to contact them for any reason, but they offer returns within 365 days with free shipping both ways. I doubt there is a better offer from anyone on-line, nor a more satisfying experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Zappos to the most discriminating shopper, nor to the biggest complainer of on-line shopping. Zappos has it all!

Their fast service is unbelievable! I have been purchasing from Zappos for quite some time now, and I have never been let down. The shoes are at your doorstep practically the day after you order them. The prices are what you'd expect to find at any department store, even the sale prices.

Excellent selection, superior search engine, incredibly fast shipping, great communication and customer service. If all e-tailers were this good, I would never set foot in a "brick & mortar" retail establishment again. I will definitely be making all future shoe purchases via this company. Bonus - They offered free shipping, which was great... even better when they shipped it overnight (impressive).

Zappos Rocks! I am impressed with their selection, SPEED OF SHIPPING (FREE), and they respond to every email you send them. I will shop for shoes at Zappos again and again. This may be the best internet store I have ever used. 11 on a scale of 10.

Zappos.com has nice photos and good specs on their shoes, but their prices leave something to be desired. You'd do better on eBay.
