This cut-rate bookseller generally got horrible reviews on Epinions. After I ordered I was concerned about the complaints from students who moaned about missing textbooks and delivery problems, but they got the book to me when they said they would with no fuss, muss, or bother.
I used e-campus.com to order my copy of Cleopatra's Wedding Present: Travels Through Syria because as far as I was concerned, their prices were what I was looking for; I'm on a budget and this was the cheapest rate I found. I'm of the opinion that you get what you pay for and I was satisfied. I got an e-mail for confirmation of my order, an update and shipping e-mail with a tracking number for the USPS because that was my preferred method of shipping. I'd use them again if for no other reason than their cheaper prices for books.
Stay away from eCampus.com. Over three months ago I sent two textbooks to them. On their website it states that they received them and issued the payment. Yet to this day I received no payment. Contacting them is useless, as they never respond to any email communications.
Will Never Buy From This Store Again by corey415 ,Sep 22 '07
Recently, I purchased a book from this establishment. It took forever to get the book. Basically, the free shipping takes forever. They even sent a fake tracking number to me to make it look they shipped the book on time; they eventually had to reship it.
Overall, the entire experience was a huge hassle. It wasn't worth it for me.
HORRIBLE, ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! by christel_lang ,Jun 13 '06
Ecampus.com sucks! I sold back two books to them, here it is 6 months later and no check. I am getting in touch with BBB. DO NOT SELL OR BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I wish I would have checked here first before selling my books!
Terrible service. Cancelled Order no Notice, Costly. by pcrowley2008 ,Feb 02 '08
Terrible. I ordered a used book at beginning of semester to arrive 1/0. 1st week of February I have not received my order so I go to the website and my order has been cancelled with no notice. Now, I have to buy a new book to get my work done. Their lack of service is causing me to pay almost $40 more. Use one of the different services for used textbooks. EBooks is terrible. KC
Almost two weeks after placing my order at ecampus.com, I began to get nervous because not only had my book not arrived and I had gone two days of classes without the required text(I had paid the extra money for fast delivery), but they hadn't even charged my account yet! After submitting an inquiry about my order, I was told that due to a some change with their suppliers, they didn't have the book anymore, and there was no expected shipment date. They made no attempt whatsoever to notify of this fact, I had to contact them. The worst part of it is, the text I had tried to order is STILL listed on their webpage as being in stock.
Horrible company. Terrible customer service. Bad web interface. by MICHADKA ,Jan 26 '07
Horrible company. Terrible customer service. Bad web interface. I ordered two text books eCampus said they had in stock. I requested expedited shipping to get them in time for class. After a week I checked their website which had no information on my order other than an order number. I wrote them and found they actually didn't have one of the books so they didn't ship the order. I received no response from them about the delay or their lack of inventory. I asked their customer service rep to cancel the entire order. Two days later they said the one book not in stock had been cancelled. I wrote back and said no, I want the entire order cancelled. The then confirmed that they cancelled the first book. I said no, the entire order please. They then wrote and said sorry, the other book just shipped today. What a surprise. I saw that coming a mile away. Their website still doesn't reflect and change in my order. eCampus is criminal. DO NOT USE THEM.
DON'T BUY FROM THEM, BUY FROM YOUR LOCAL COLLEGE BOOKSTORE! by shanmac74 ,Dec 28 '06
This is the second time I tried to order a textbook from ecampus.com and the second time I have swore I would never buy another book from them again. This time I mean it! The book I needed was $15.00 cheaper than my college bookstore but between the 2-3 business day time frame, the "I'm sorry, the supplier cancelled our order, so we cancelled yours" BULL@$^&...I won't buy from them again! Last year it took me a month for a book that was promised in 2-3 business days! What a horrible company and a waste of my time!
Slow service. Order cancelled to make more money. by davwav02 ,Jan 09 '07
I first ordered from this site a few years ago, when I needed a book I couldn't find anywhere else. They shipped it out. Nothing extremely fast, but I got it, and it was what I needed, and it worked.
The second time I ordered from them was just recently. I placed an order with them on a Friday. Once again, their prices seemed reasonable compared to others, so that's why I chose them. Well, on Tuesday, a whole four days later, they email me to tell me that they do not have the book in stock. They offer to sell me another copy of the book, but for $20 more than I paid the first time. I will not shop at this site again.
My experience at ecampus.com was absolutely HORRIBLE. Will not shop there again. by cinstudent ,Sep 10 '09
My experience with ecampus.com is HORRIBLE. If you shop there, do not shop at the marketplace. I ordered my book on August 28, 2009, my credit card was not charged until September 6, and just received my book on September 10. No order confirmation or shipping information was sent out. The book condition is not as described, and can not reach customer service for help. If you call in, they have no customer service for their marketplace and you have to send in an email. So far I have sent in two emails in the last two days and have not received a receipt confirmation and no response.
The Biggest Rip Off on the Web.... by grunt167 ,Jun 07 '06
I purchased books from e-campus August of 05 and received them quickly and in good shape. Encouraged by this I took advantage of their buyback program. I generated the buyback, boxed the books and shipped them on December 10, 05. I then patiently waited, no check. The site showed they mailed the check but no date of mailing. This was in February, 06. I e-mailed them and received the we're backlogged on our buyback program and it will be 10 to 12 weeks. Well it is now 7 months and still no check. After my fourth irate e-mail I get a response stating the check was mailed the 19th of May. Still no check at my door. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with and and should be put out of business, the buildings razed to the ground and then seeded with salt so nothing every grows there again.
Horrible customer service, rip-off, rude by xcindy82x ,Oct 12 '06
I ordered a textbook from them that they sent to me with missing items inside. When I e-mailed them twice about the missing items, they never returned any of my e-mails. One week later after sending them a threatening e-mail did they FINALLY respond back but yet were not very helpful and practically accusing me of lying about the missing items. When I sent them the information that the textbook was suppose to come with the items as promised. They once again e-mailed me back and said that it was their mistake and that it was indeed THEIR FAULT but offered no suggestions in fixing the matter. What's worse is that they told me I can return the book but STILL WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE 10% RESTOCKING FEE!!! So pretty much I would have to pay them to return my textbook that they made a mistake on and even told me that they made a mistake. So unless you guys want to get ripped off by these people, don't purchase anything from them.
ordered 10/20 shipped 12/14 OVER A MONTH LATER by jfadldslkfj ,Feb 27 '05
I would not recomend this store at all oder was place 10/20 was not shipped untill third week in december OVER A MONTH LATER
When looking that item up a week later it said avaliable. if I had to wait over a month it was NOT avaliable.
Overall, my experiance with ECampus.com has been amazing. I have had a few run ins with this company, and have found each one to be as pleasant as the next. Last fall semester, my sophmore year, I decided to purchase a few of my books from ECampus.com, since it was going to be alot cheaper then my bookstore. I ended up getting both my Biology and my Accounting books for almost $40 less then I wouldve paid by buying it somewhere else. This semester I decided to try out their book rental program, and although I have yet to return them and will do so in December, the Econ and Stats books that I got from them was inbetter then advertised shape and arrived on time. Definitely use them in the future!
When purchasing a book, it arrived in a timely fashion, however, the outer book cover was creased because of poor packaging, i assume.
I would strongly suggest to NEVER submit large amounts of books to their buyback program. I sent about 10 of my used books, and they keep telling me that half of my books are missing. The strange "coincidence" is that the missing books are the books that were worth the most $$$. They are very SHADY, and will not respond to the written documents and proof I sent them about my order.
This was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!! by kdl_420 ,Dec 21 '03
I am laughing as I read people's ratings of ecampus.com... I had the worst experience last year, a month before Christmas. I ordered what I thought to be WAY AHEAD OF TIME, thinking for once, I was on top of it. What happened? I got the order almost 2.5 months later. Horrible customer service, horrible shipping, horrible everything. Ya it is nice to save a little bit of $$$, who doesn't enjoy saving? But all the frustration I felt after putting in this order changed my mind completely. I love to shop on-line, but this was the WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH ON-LINE SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is usually so easy and convenient. I almost felt my blood boil with this "transaction". I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE USE THIS COMPANY. WHY WASTE THEIR MONEY WITH SUCH A COMPANY? Why support a business that can't even build themselves a good reputation?
I needed to order a hard to find textbook for a class that had already started. I finally found the text at ecampus.com and was so happy that I paid for 2-day shipping (figuring I was already behind in my reading). I placed the order on 1/22/04 and on 1/28/04 received an email that informed me that the book should be delivered by 1/30 if it was "in stock." I was also informed that it was not "in stock" and the 2 day shipping fee only applied once ecampus shipped the book out. So it could actually take weeks! It seems to me that this is false advertising and I will never use this service again!!!
Shipping Scam at Ecampus by michelleb2 ,Jun 08 '06
I ordered a book that I really needed in a huge hurry, and paid almost $20 for overnight shipping by UPS. Then two days go by (no book) and I'm finally sent a tracking number...for regular postal mail! Ended up taking approx a week to get here, which was 2 days AFTER the test that I needed the book for. Tried contacting the seller, and never received a reply (wanted the extra shipping charges refunded to me), so then contacted ecampus. They replied with one sentence..."Any discrepancies/resolutions must be handled between the seller and you"
They did not even sign their name to the email! No information whatsoever.
I'm going to file a formal complaint. This is clearly fraud and they're making money off of everyone they can possibly scam.
Use caution when ordering from E-campus by rettaric ,Aug 05 '04
I have used e-campus for several years and overall I have been pleased. There are a couple of caveats when using them. If a book shows as available immediately, don't believe it.Several times I have sweated out whether I would get my books in time for classes. If you are ordering from them, make sure you do it WELL in advance. Sometimes it can take 3-4 weeks to get them. Also, their buyback books service is really pi**ing me off. I mailed them 3 of my books over seven weeks ago and I still haven't been paid for them. I'll never use this service again. I'm wondering if I'll ever get paid for them. Also, their customer service is a joke. E-mails take close to a week to be answered and be prepared to wait on hold forever if you call them.
If you order a month or more in advance you should be okay and don't use their buyback service. These are the best recommendations I can make.
Poor at best. Can't deliver on orders. by rokshpr ,Aug 27 '05
I attempted to purchase a book through ecampus which was advertised on their site as being available in 7-10 business day. They kept stringing me along over the course of a couple of months saying it would be shipped soon. I finally confronted them, and they essentially admitted they never had the book, and no intention of getting it for me.
It seems that ecampus plays this game in hopes of making money of partially-filled orders in hopes of actually selling more expensive books, while luring you there with cheaper books they don't actually have and never will. Pretty common situation with irresponsibly run internet companies.
Just avoid them, because they will initially appear OK, it is my opinion based on my experience with them that they are just doing a sort of bait and switch. Avoid them.
Very bad service, canceled order. by tansen ,Aug 09 '04
Very bad, do not buy here.
Ordered book for ship-out within two-three days, got email a week later saying they don't have item yet, a week later, still no word, finally I called up and they said they still don't have the item, it will not be in for another week. But they never got back to me before this. And didn't seem sorry for the bad service. They offer free delivery to probably make up for the bad service.
Got my book cheaper, no problems at all! by dinklepuss ,Jan 17 '04
Everything went great!! I found a book for $20 cheaper than anywhere else. It was as described, and I had it a week later. I was a little worried after reading all the horror stories posted here, but everything turned out fine!
Send them books - Get nothing back! by poqer ,Feb 04 '07
Unfortunately I did not know ecampus owned sellbackbooks.com when I sent my books to them. I sent in $58.00 worth of books and 2 months later I got a check from them for $7.00. Of course all e-mails were ignored etc...
Never deal with them or send them any books if you want to actually get money back for your used books.
Never received my book or a refund by may971 ,Feb 13 '07
I ordered a book from ecampus.com on 1/22. I picked standard shipping which according to their site states that it takes 3-7 business days. I emailed them on 2/6 to let them know that I still had not received the book. They responded a day later telling me that it takes 13-14 days even though it their site clearly states otherwise. I responded on 2/8 to ask them for a refund which I still have not received. It is now 2/13 and I still don't have my book or my money. I had no choice but to call my credit card company and file a complaint. This is the first complaint that I have ever filed with a credit card company. Stay far away from this site if you don't want to get scammed!
More than happy and extremely satisfied with the service! by jrcoffey ,Nov 07 '04
I am very satisfied with the service I received and the products. I've had a LOT of problems with other online services and had to cancel orders because an item couldn't be obtained from them. Sometimes a product runs out, that's not the fault of the company. I have ordered a range of items from eCampus and I've been very satisfied with everything. I have only had to cancel one order and that was an item that turned out to be discontinued by the publisher. eCampus let me know and did their best to try and find the item, but it just wasn't out there. They didn't even bill me for it before hand. If I've had a delivery issue, they've gone out of their way to compensate me for the delay. I'm very happy with eCampus and I will continue to shop with them!
I mailed 15 Lbs of books for apprised value of over $200.00 (insured mail). The payment check is a month overdue. Each time I call, I get scripted answers similar to those all the other victims already described. I encourage everyone to start legal action, even if it is through the small claims court. I will be contacting student affairs offices through the US colleges and universities. Maybe we can gather for a class action. Check with your state treasury department. Lets show e-campus we did not go to college for nothing. Lets stop student rip off!
horrific customer service; multi-week delays; charges credit cards for cancelled orders. AVOID like the plague! by aareed ,Feb 01 '05
Placed an order the first week of the semester, for a product that said "ships within 2 to 3 days." After 10 days received an e-mail that my order had not yet been shipped, but they still expected to be able to ship it within 2 more days. Meanwhile I'm getting farther and farther behind in my class. Another week passes. I cancel my order and order the book from another online merchant. It arrives a few days later. A week after that, my credit card is charged by ecampus.com for my order, which reads "CANCELLATION PENDING" on my account page. Tried to call customer support during the hours listed on their website and it was closed. Tried to contact someone by the online chat during hours listed on their website, and it was closed. As of today I still have not gotten my money back. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE COMPANY!
I received my book from eCampus.com and it was already DAMAGED! It was supposedly "NEW." There was no shrink-wrapping to protect the book. The book was bent, the cover was creased, and they have only offered me a choice of 10% off or I could return the book. They have me between a rock and a hard place because I need the book for an upcoming workshop.
As any college student is, I am always interested in re-selling my overpriced textbooks as well as looking for the best deal. Well of course I'll never get what I paid for them but I decided to give ecampus a try since they actually had a decent buy back rate. So here I am, over 4 months later (I was told that it would only take a month or so), and I still have not yet received a check. I have emailed customer service a few times and have been told that they were having huge volumes of business so they were at least 12 weeks behind schedule in check issuing. Which I see by other reviews that this excuse has been used several times before. To sum it up, I think I got screwed over. Check bluerectangle.com. They seem to be doing a lot better. As for ecampus, I will call them every day twice a day if that's what it takes to see the money I am owed.
Look for used books here by abbydejia1 ,Jan 03 '05
I like ecampus a lot. They always have the books I am looking for at competitive prices. They also seem to have a good selection used, at least most of the time. They usually have at least half of the books I am looking for used. Their prices on textbooks are always discounted but I wish they could be discounted a little more. Who wouldn't like that? But that's why i try to buy used from them whenever I can. They are always in good condition, unlike some other sites I bought from.
I ordered the hardcover edition of a book. A few days later I got an email saying they had automatically "upgraded" my order to the paperback, for the same price! There was no way to cancel, I wrote to customer service and they were able to cancel it as the book had not yet shipped.
Awful, will not try again by honestans ,Jun 01 '06
I placed an order on 4/19/06, and got an email from ecampus saying that the books would be shipped by two weeks at the latest. Three weeks later, I got no books, and no response. I called ecampus three times, but could not a clear answer on the shipment. They said they were still checking with their distribution center and could not even give me an rough estimate when the books would be shipped. I also followed up with two more emails which I got no response.
on 6/1/06, I went back to the website to check on the status of shipment and found that ecampus had cancelled the shipment without giving me a call or sending me an email. I just sent another email asking about the cancellation, but I doubt it if I will get any response. The service they provide is awful, and it is very unprofessional how they could treat their customer like that.
ECAMPUS is the worst online experience I have ever had. I baught a book over a month ago, which they told me was in stock, then they told me it wasnt and then they told me it was. IT WAS ALL LIES. The customer service was horrible, rude and told me fasle information. Finally a month later they are sending me a USED book, which i wasnt happy about but its too late since I start school next week. I would NEVER shop here agan nor recommend anyone bother with these people. it will be a waste of your time..:(
eCampus.com was way better than Amazon.com by dabears1985 ,Sep 04 '09
So I'm a college freshmen and I just bought my textbooks for the first time, I went to amazon and they didn't have two books in stock I needed, one for Precal and the other was for my writing class.
My mom told me to go to ecampus.com and since she was paying for the books, I said what the hell. I was able to get all my books and not only that I RENTED them. Insane man, insane. Who ever heard of renting your textbooks?
Anyway, I only paid like half for them and I got them two days later. Crazy. You should be able to rent everything in life...
The Worst Company I've Ever Dealt With--Horrible and Deceitful by clark53 ,May 09 '06
Don't do business with this company. I ordered 7 books from ecampus.com and they only shipped 4 of them and said the other 3 were on backorder. They repeatedly assured me that 2 of these books would be sent but that for the other one I would need to order it again because they couldn't make enough money on the book. The price is the reason that I ordered the book to begin with!!!
I never received the other 3 books and out of the 4 I did receive one of them looked slightly used even though they sold it as new.
Throughout this process, which took about a month, they repeatedly lied to me.
This is the SECOND time I've ordered a book, it says, "Usually ships in 3-5 business days." Not that they don't HAVE it, but that it ships in 3-5 business days.. The first time, the estimated ship date was changed to over TWO MONTHS out. So this time, I called to make sure it was there.
GUESS WHAT - IT ISN'T IN STOCK. They don't know when it will BE in stock.
Slower than I liked in shipping & slow response but did ship by sbalt ,Jan 12 '05
I had initial dissatisfaction and wrote a very negative review regarding slowness and lack of response of customer service. Since then, they have shipped the book I ordered and customer service has stepped up and taken care of business. I am upgrading my review.
Horrible company. Ordered my dvds on Feb 8, 2008 and still no record of delivery confirmation. they are a smoothe bunch here. They assigned me a deliv confirm number.. basically a box with postal label. Probably do not have my products to ship. Like all the bad companies , they did manage to charge my cc . Its a hassle and I am working to get a refund. Their standard line is wait 30 days from shipping . Supposedly, they shipped my product Feb 11th , which is a lie. Please do not do business with this company.
Well I ordered a book from ecampus. The book took a month and a half to arrive. In that time I had moved.
When a book is out of stock it should be taken off the menu plain and simple.
The book was delivered to my original address and now whomever lives at my former address owns it.
When I attempted to resolve this issue ecampus did absolutely nothing but try to put the blame on me.
It will be worth it to pay a few extra bucks to another company that knows how to run a business.
These people are complete hacks. Go somewhere else, please.
Everything I could ever want and more! by sluley ,Jan 31 '05
It all went really smoothly--my book came when they said it would, it was the edition I wanted, and I was really surprised at the quality. I had ordered a used book and when I got it, it looked like it hadn't ever been used before. The price was a really good deal.
I ordered an item that supposedly was in stock and selected UPS 2nd Air shipping. It's now 8 days later and according to their order status page, the item has not even been shipped! So I wanted to call them and needed to use Google to find their phone number. Now I haven been waiting on hold for over half an hour and have still not gotten any help. I wish I had read the reviews about them before I bought.
This is the worst experience. Completely unreliable and unprofessional. by wigriffith ,Sep 30 '05
I ordered a book from ecampus.com. After 10 days I still hadn't received the book. I checked the order on their site and found it was on hold in order to get some additional authorization for my credit card. They never advised me of the problem, how to fix it, or anything. By the way, there was NO problem with the credit card. A few days later, a friend also ordered from them and also found the order delayed because of a hold on the credit card. I guess that ecampus simply cannot deliver on its orders. I would NEVER order from them again. They are very unreliable and if you need something from them, don't count on getting it or being advised that there is a problem. Lousy customer service. They still haven't responded to my questions.
I am very disappointed in ecampus.com service. I placed an order for a book "Neuropsychological Evaluation of the Child" for $59.96, I never got a confirmation email in fact I never received any emails from ecampus.com I then checked the status of my order online, it had been cancelled. I called ecampus.com, they said they had cancelled my order because the book price had gone up to $70s, and I could still order the book. I passed on the offer. And they insisted they generally send out emails, NOT in this instance. I guess they did'nt know what to say, "sorry we are raising the price of your order"
Ordered C programming a modern review textbook
1. Took over a week to get
2. Sent me the study guide instead of the textbook
3. Rude service - told me not to shop with them again - and I won't
Deceitful business practices, poor customer service. by lambertk14 ,Mar 11 '09
Beware of eCampus.com and their business practices. On Jan. 21, 2009, I submitted two seperate buybacks and those shipments were received at their facility on Jan. 26, 2009. eCampus states that their policy is to pay customers for their buybacks within 4 to 6 weeks. After waiting for my six week period to pass, I called customer service and was told that due to a huge backlog, processing time is now 6 to 8 weeks and to call back after 8 weeks. I have utilized TextbooksRUs.com and Firstclassbooks.com and literally shipped my buyback and received payment within the same week. eCampus is deceitful in their business practices and I would not recommend their services as I am still waiting to receive payment for my two buybacks. The only information you get out of their customer service department via email and the telephone is vague and contains absolutely no information with firm dates. I will NEVER use the services of eCampus again and would suggest no one else subject themselves to the drawn out fiasco that I have been entangle in.
Ecampus is horrible. This was the worst experience in customer service I have ever had. One book stayed on the Ships in 7 - 10 days status for two months. They finally shipped the other books in the order about a week before school started. The one that was unavailable for so long I finally found through another company and had it shipped overnight. I called ecampus and they told me that the credit error status was because they had to get the credit card number from me to process the one book shipment since it would now be a different amount from the original order. She said if I didn't give her my number again then it simply wouldn't ship which was fine with me. She told me I did not need to cancel the order because it just wouldn't go through. Now, today, I have an email that the book has shipped and my card has been charged. Thus overdrawing my account. I will never ever again use ecampus.
ECampus.com has really helped me out this semester! I went shopping around for my textbooks this semester, and found that ECampus prices were much lower the ones at my college bookstore. I saved almost $20 bucks on my accounting book alone! I recieved the books in a timely manner and was very satisfied with the condition it was in. All around a good experiance and I would definitely recommend them.
Great site for textbooks by testfrank_1 ,Jan 03 '05
Great Site...Lot's of titles and a good assortment of used textbooks. It's best if you know the ISBN number of the book you need to make sure you get exact version of the title. Customer Service as been very helpful id tracking orders. One thing though. Don't ship textbooks using their postal service option. You can't track them very well and it takes a while to receive them. I think it's a postal service issue, though. UPS ground works great and the shipping rates aren't too bad.
ecampus.com, I wouldn’t buy from them again. by foobar_v10 ,Sep 13 '07
ecampus.com, I wouldnt buy from them again. If you need your books in a reasonable amount of time dont use this online retailer. I ordered a book they supposedly had in stock and requested 2 day shipping; it took them several days to just process the order. I tried to cancel after I realized that the book just wasnt going to get here when I needed it they wouldnt let me cancel and locked my order in for a couple more days. Terrible and unresponsive customer service!
2 to 3 day shipping - not as fast as it sounds by the_dooleys ,Oct 17 '07
When my son needed to read a book for school and all of the bookstores in our area were out of it, I naturally went online and ordered it from the cheapest site I could find - which turned out to be ecampus.com. I liked the fact that they had an option for 2 to 3 day shipping (for an extra fee). I got that option thinking that I would actually receive the book in two to three days. That was NOT the case. The book I ordered on the 3rd wasn't sent out until the 9th, and wasn't received until the 12th. Yes, actual shipping time was three days...but that was a whole nine days after I ordered it! I was disappointed and my son spent the weekend speed-reading a book for a project that was due on Monday.
I ordered a book 3 weeks ago and used fast 2 day shipping.
Those people wont return any of my e-mails. When i called, i was put on hold for a long time, so i just hung up. Really wish i would of seen this site before ordering from
them.
I am a student at the University of Kentucky. Not only have I shopped online at eCampus.com I have also visited their warehouse store located here in Lexington, KY. I am happy with all my purchases from eCampus.com, off and online. Their prices are much cheaper than the campus bookstore. They also pay more when I sell them my books.
The best online book service I have experienced ever! by eallen05 ,Jun 18 '07
My book arrived in the condition and time frame that they stated. I have never had such fast and excellent service in my 2 1/2 years of buying books online. Thank you ecampus
I ordered 3 books from this company on the web store. Site was easy to navigate and it was very easy to find the books needed. The prices were the lowest I could find and free shipping for orders over $49.
I proceed through checkout, specify I want free shipping and my order to be sent in as few shipments as possible ... their systems split my order into 2 shipments and then proceed to charge me for shipping.
Cheap prices, large selection by bluegoat08 ,Oct 20 '09
I used Ecampus.com recently to buy my textbooks for this fall semester. I have been buying my books on campus for the last two years, and was suprised when I saw the prices listed on this website. Ecampus was dramatically cheaper then anywhere else I looked and it didnt take to long for the books to arrive. I am very satisfied with my purchase. :)
STAY AWAY from this site! Horrible service, delivery. by mcbacci ,Sep 09 '04
HORRIBLE experience with this site. Ordered textbook for my child that was shown as 'in stock.' Did not ship until over a week after order was placed - major delays. Never arrived on time, still waiting. No customer service - telephone tied up, put on hold for over 30 minutes; emails to customer service not answered until 2-3 days after with 'canned' replies; fax number does not work.
The prices offered for the books on the website are good, however, not uncommonly the books are not in stock. Any inquiries are met with an offer to cancel the order.
Spend the extra money with a more reputable store. I waited 6 weeks until I received an email stating they had canceled the order.
I would not recommend this store to anyone.
They should be fined and put out of business! by mattituck13 ,Jun 30 '06
I used the book buy- back, well let me tell DON'T!!!
I have been waiting for 6 mos. to get the check and each time you call you get the same response "we are having trouble with the check processing" that's crap. They just don't want to pay and figure that you will give up. Well they screwed with the wrong person, I am contacting the State Attorney General's Office in the State of Kentucky and the FTC. They are not getting away with this!!
no customer satisfaction very rude to deal with, Rip off artists by lcky4mom ,Feb 19 '08
I received a book that was an International version. It was stated in the description as exactly the same. The picture showed the book I needed. After waiting almost 2 weeks the book I received was not what was in the picture and not the same book I needed. As I was already behind after waiting so long i had to go out and buy the correct book. I contacted ecampus WOW No help at all.Sorry no refunds end of story. No I will not let you talk to a supervisor and no, no one will call you back. After several emails and calls with the same rude responses I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Do not buy from ecampus, it is worth it to pay more somewhere else!!! I spent several days trying to reason with ecampus and they were so unbelievably rude I could not believe it, They are first class rip off artists.
Regardless of the negative reviews that I have read on ecampus I decided to give them a shot because of their really cheap clearance book section. I had one of the best shopping experiences that I have had in a long time. I bought 4 children's books and I paid $1 for 3 of them and $3 for the other one. It was really easy to move around at their website and when I had a question about shipping I called their customer service department. They were friendly and helpful. My books arrived a little later then expected, but it was close to the holiday season. But because of the great prices I was able to wait a few extra days. I will shop there again.
Horrible, I would recommend shopping elsewhere. by med2008 ,Dec 31 '05
I purchase a book from ecampus.com. It was apparently shipped by their company, even though UPS showed only record of receiving the order for shipment. After waiting for the book to be delivered and finding out not going to be shipped. I contacted the company and was told it was lost in shipment and asked if I would like another shipped. I said that they could ship me another one, if they could send it immediately. After waiting a week for the second book to arrive, I contacted the company again and was informed that the second order was never actually made. At that point I requested a refund to my credit card and was informed that it would take about 15 days for the credit to be made. After waiting a month for the refund, I still have not received it and am in further deliberations. I will be contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge if I do not receive a refund in the next few days.
Terrible! 20 weeks and still no check for my Buyback books! by babkagal ,May 02 '06
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I used eCampus' Buyback store to sell some of my old textbooks. The website assured me that I would get a check back from them in about 8-10 weeks.
I sent my books in December...it is now MAY and I do not have a check! I called them to complain, and they said it would likely be another month at minimum to get my money back. It has been 20 weeks so far, and still counting. Argh!
What a bunch of scammers! I would never have sent them those books had I known that I would not be getting my promised check. STAY AWAY from eCampus!
Beware! Dont think this company will be around for long. by starbk ,Jan 06 '05
I placed two orders with this company and waited a month and a half before they canceled both orders. I could have order through Amazon or Barnes and Noble for a little more but at least I would have gotten the discount as opposed to nothing at all. Now I'm screwed and have to scramble to get a copy at full price if I can. The customer service is the WORST I have ever experienced.
Tried to stick me with an old text instead of the newest version. by jamnrob ,Feb 24 '06
I ordered two texts from ecampus. One of the texts they sent was an older edition than I ordered. Initially, they said I ordered the older edition, but when I emailed them my order confirmation with the new ISBN text confirmed, they back-tracked and admitted they did not have the correct book in stock. They issued me a return receipt, but have not issued a credit back to my Amex yet. They say the credit was denied, and it will be 8-12 weeks before they can send me a check. This is inexcusable. I had to buy the correct textbook at the bookstore and pay extra. Stick with half.com, amazon and barnes and nobles.
This was my first time shopping through ecampus, and I have no complaints. Delivery was prompt and the book was exactly as described. I will definitely check ecampus for books again next semester, and will probably try to sell some of my own used books!
They substituted another book for the one I ordered. I then cancelled my order with plenty of notice, but they still went ahead and shipped it. I refused delivery and it was received by their warehouse. However, it still takes up to 30 business days to process a refund. Ridiculous!
They are the worst company I have ever dealt with by angela2804 ,Jan 11 '05
I have learned the hard way that E-campus is a business that I hope disappears soon. They have no problem charging you for 2 day air delivery and then sending it ground which takes about 8 days in my case. Classes start and here I am still waiting on the book out in god knows where. Do not take advantage of any FREE t-shirt offers becaus those arent in stock(even though it says they are) because then they hold up your books waiting on a FREE tshirt. I spend 3 hours waiting for customer support online and an hour and a half on the phone simultanisouly. Then when they answered the phone you cant even here what they are saying. They dont deserve anyones business.
Avoid E-campus at all cost because it is too frustrating to deal with them. Plus no one wants to start a semester off already behind because of the lies they advertise on their web site.
Frustrating! It took them 45 days to cancel my order! by onetimeuser1 ,Apr 30 '06
I bought two books from ECampus.com. One book arrived very quickly. After several weeks I was told that the other book I ordered was out of stock. They told me it should arrive on a certain date (over 40 days later). Well, that date came and went so I called them. They told me it hadn't arrived yet but it would be in soon. The next day, after 45 days of waiting, they canceled my order. Not a good experience.
Cheaper Textbooks Not Worth Headache Caused By eCampus.com by gman1120 ,Jan 29 '04
Not only did it take them over a couple weeks to ship my order, they would not respond to any emails I sent trying to get information. I can't afford not to have my college textbooks when I need to be studying for my classes. Amount saved is small and not worth the wait and trouble. I will not shop with eCampus.com ever again.
I have never purchased from ecampus.com but I did try to sell my textbook to them. They provided postage and I sent my accounting textbook. However, apparently the textbook was either never received or never processed. I have written ecampus.com three times about this matter, asking for the packages tracking information only to receive one unhelpful response.
Even if the blame lies with USPS, the customer service at ecampus.com is substandard. If you want to sell your textbooks back use www.bigwords.com instead and avoid ecampus.com.
Took forever to get the items I ordered. They were rude when I checked on my order. Then UPS just dropped the box off w/o my signature. Ecampus told me that I didn't need to sign for the package. Hmmm...strange! I won't order from them again.
I mailed my books back to this company on 12/1/2008 and they never mailed me a check. I then reached out the the customer service representative and they lied to me they were no supervisor there available to assist me. I have sent numerous emails trying to resolve the problem and they have not gotten back to me. Today, I called once again and the customer service representative told me that my books were not in there facility and my UPS tracking number show me that the books were delivered, but when I asked the representative to explain how that could be she had no answer and she hung up. The customer service reps promise to have a supervisor to call you back, but they never do. I even email Matt Montgomery the owner of the book company to see if he will assist me. I would not advise any student to sell books to this company. RUN away, because they are horrible..
Sell items they don't even have! by july1962 ,Jan 28 '05
I had two orders pending with ecampus.com. I just received three emails telling me that my orders had been completely canceled because they were unable to locate the items from a supplier. Not only did they cancel the two orders, they sent a third email canceling a free t-shirt that was supposed to come!
What is that about? They sell merchandise that they don't even have?! Then when they don't get it, they cancel it?
One of the items was a limited edition book that is now sold out on all other sites. I'm out of luck.
Great Selection and Prices by soctalker ,Jan 07 '04
I've shopped with eCampus.com for the past 4 semesters for my books for school. Compaired to the UC bookstore they have great prices! I was so happy to find a place where I could search for not only textbooks, but all kinds of items for my personal reading collection as well.
All I have to say is:
1. Great Selection
2. Great Service
3. Great Prices
eCampus.com will definitely have my business for years to come!!!
I'll never shop at Ecampus again by heyfitz ,Oct 08 '03
Be forewarned--Ecampus charges 10% of the purchase price for accepting returns! Also, for maximum return of your payment price, better call first to get an authorization to return your product. The telephone clerk who I talked to was sneering and unhelpful. I would never, ever shop here again.
Has not sent check for sold textbook in over 3 months by ra907481 ,Mar 18 '06
Worst experience ever! Ecampus is very unprofessional and does not fulfill their side of the bargain. I sold my text to them and (after 3 months) still have not seen any money from them. I have sent over 7 contact emails (of which only 3 were responded to) asking for either my money or my textbook back and was told "As an alternative, we can give you store credit."
What is that? If a business says they give cash for books, then they need to give "cash for books" NOT store credit for books. I am STILL waiting for a reply.
If you value money or your textbook, do not use this company!
Highly unprofessional!
Ecampus does not pay you when you ship a book for them with their Marketplace Division. I shipped a book out on 9/10/07 and I have called a number of times asking for payment, it is 10/11/07, and customer service rudely tells me they have nothing to do with the Marketplace, the only way to follow up on my payment is to email only. I asked for her supervisor and was told she would take my name and number for a call back. I asked the name of the supervisor and was told she was not allowed to give his name. DO NOT TRUST ECAMPUS, they are unethical, and they hide behind smoke and mirrors.
HORRIFIC! NO BOOKS BUT TOOK MY $$$$ by semiho ,Oct 12 '07
TERRIBLE SERVICE. ORDERED SEPT 18 2008 AND NEVER RECEIVED MY NURSING SCHOOL BOOKS. I'M HALFWAY THROUGH THE SEMESTER NOW WITHOUT MY TWO MOST IMPORTANT BOOKS! I'M STILL WAITING ON MY REFUND OF $130.00 THEY TOLD ME TO KEEP WAITING EVEN THOUGH THE TRACKING SAID THE BOOKS NEVER LEFT OHIO...I INSISTED SOMETHING WAS WRONG BUT THEY WOULDN'T LOOK INTO IT. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. NOT WORTH A FREE SHIRT OR FREE SHIPPING. I GOT EXCELLENT SERVICE WITH THE REST OF MY BOOKS WITH AMAZON.COM. FREE SHIPPING TOO! MY BOOKS ARRIVED IN 2 DAYS!
I'm very dissatisfied. Will never use again or recommend them. by ll06bw ,May 07 '09
I used ecampus.com to buy back 2 of my textbooks. The process to buy back books was very easy to use and I liked the fact they paid for shipping and even gave you a UPS shipping label. I was pleased that it went so smoothly. However, that's where it ended. They received my books on Feb. 25, 2009, signed by Martinez on deck (according to UPS tracking). It is now May 7, 2009 and still no check. I checked the status on April 15 and it said the books were accepted and they are in the processing status but no check has been printed. I emailed customer service on April 15 (frankly I had forgotten all about the books) and I get a reply (from Jayme) that the process normally takes 4-6 weeks. (Well, that time was up as of April 15th.) and because this is a busy buy back time please allow another 2-4 weeks. Back in Feb/March it shouldn't have been a busy time. I'm very dissatisfied. I will not recommend ecampus to anyone. They are just crooks! They need to be shut down!
I signed up for an on-line course late and needed a book ASAP. eCampus had the book cheap and provides expedited shipping, so I ordered it. After 3 business days, no book, no e-mail notification, so I sent an inquiry. They did not respond to my inquiry and notified me a week later that they could not locate the book and cancelled my order. This was my first, and will be my last, order through ecampus.com. I order merchandise on-line all the time, and this is the absolute worst experience Ive had.
Smooth and quick transaction! by booron77 ,Oct 24 '05
Very smooth transaction and quick shipment! Will look forward to doing business again! Prices were competitive and will look to eCampus first for all future purchases.
Ecampus.com has NOT reimbursed me for the books they purchased from me (book buyback program). by johanna3682 ,Apr 18 '05
My experience with Ecampus.com entails their book buyback program. I would NOT RECOMMEND doing business with them. It has been 3 MONTHS since I mailed my books to them and they have yet to send me a check or make an attempt to contact me. Also, when I attempted to contact their customer service by telephone I was on hold for over 10 minutes--I hung up instead of wasting any more of my time.
I would not shop here again by anelder ,Sep 23 '05
If you need your book faster than 4 weeks, look elsewhere. Their estimates for receiving books "no later than", are inaccurate and they do not offer expedited delivery when the process takes longer than expected. Also, their packaging for paperbacks leaves much to be desired. Lots of bends to pages and cover. Oh, and replies to feedback take a five days.
eCampus is nothing more than a "Dropshipper" by stinehart ,Mar 03 '05
STAY AWAY. I wish I had read these reviews first. eCampus is nothing more than a "Drop Shipper." It's been 2 weeks since I placed my order for one book, and it's still "on order." Why did they have it in stock? My 8 week class starts today, and I'm a book short. Stay away from this company.
Don't believe they they will actually ship what you order! by sokkerknut ,Nov 07 '05
Received 2 of 3 items within about 10 days of order. 3rd was cancelled after 30 days because we have been unable to locate a supplier", however, item still shows "In Stock" on the site. Price has now been raised $2 plus I would now have to pay an additional $5.97 shipping since my new order in under $50.
Read the reviews on this merchant BEFORE you order.
Not a company to purchase anything from! by nashka ,Sep 23 '05
Ecampus.com advertises products that they do not have and in some cases will never be able to obtain. My son needed two vocal music books that none of the normal reputable sites had in stock including the campus bookstore where my son attends college. Against my better judgment, I went ahead and ordered from this site as they listed that both items were available. My son is not four weeks into class with no books. I called their customer service and waited 45 minutes to talk to a customer service representative. She advised that one book was in stock. When I inquired why they had not shipped the book, she did not have a response. I advised her that I was canceling the order and canceled my order on their website. Two days later, the charge has appeared on my credit card. I have instructed my banking institution that this charge is unauthorized and not to honor it. If we do end up receiving any items, I will promptly ship them back to this fly by night company.
WORST ONLINE RETAILER I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH by sjdoctor ,Sep 12 '05
I attempted to purchase a book from ecampus (actually, biggerbooks.com, but they have the same address). I never received an email confirmation of my order. When I called the 800 number, they had a waiting time of over an hour. Even when I tried to wait to speak to a representative, I got cut off before speaking to a real person. I emailed them and requested that my order be cancelled; they emailed me back and said the order was cancelled, but a few days later they charged my credit card anyway.
Don't order from this company!!! You are only setting yourself up for a lot of pain.
Don't believe their shipping estimates. by _ll_ ,Sep 07 '05
Placed an order on 8/31 for a textbook which ecampus said would ship on 9/1 and arrive on 9/6. Paid extra for expedited shipping. On 9/5 ecampus email said "The following item(s) have yet to arrive in our Shipping Facility. At this time we still expect to fill your order and shipping should occur
soon. Delayed items are usually received within a few business days beyond the anticipated arrival date." My first and last time shopping at ecampus.com!!
I had a hard time getting through to customer service. I often emailed with a questions and got no response. I had a book that was listed as in stock but at another location-a week later no response and no book shipped out. I would not use them again EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I ordered a book from ecampus.com for a christmas present. Their order status webpage listed the book as "on order" for more than 2 weeks, at which time I contacted them about the status. They told me that it was to arrive in their warehouse the next day and it would be shipped out then. Two days later, the order status still showed as "on order," so I contacted them again. They then told me that the book was permanently out of stock. Very disappointing, as I'm sure that they would have never contacted me to advise me of this status.
HORRIBLE site, avoid at all costs! by judylin ,Aug 10 '05
HORRIBLE. Please don't get scammed. I think the positive reviews that were posted about this site were fraud. I sent 2 packages of books to them through their buyback program in June, and received NO correspondence from them. I emailed them and received no reply in over 2 weeks. I called their customer service and was on hold for over 20 minutes before i hung up. I just wished i read the reviews before i sent over $300 in buyback books to them (and you know, with the rate of buybacks, that was over $600 of what i originally paid!)
Extremely Terrible- there is no word to describe it by inddent ,Dec 22 '05
Absolute worse customer service I've ever dealt with in online shopping. I had mailed them my books for a buyback back in September, and to this day I still have received no word regarding when I will get my check. Their website states that they mail out checks 4 weeks after receiving the buyback books, but never to this day- 4 months later did I receive anything. Customer service is absolutely moronic, not knowing what is going on nor offering anyway to get in touch with accounts department. STAY CLEAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They practice fraudulent advertising. I am in touch with Better Business Bureau and will be taking this matter to the State Attorney General's Office.
If you need to sell your books, do it through barnes and nobles, at least they have a reputable name.
i will never do shopping at ecampus( Internet thieves). by maghanjo ,Jan 17 '06
i had been looking for nutritional and disease management books over the internet and ecampus emerged to have what i was looking for, i placed my order and sent a check of $ 96.96 on 31st october, 2005. Since then they claim they have not received my check upto date, at the same time my bank said they cleared the check on 8th of november 2005 payed to ecampus account.resently i have been writing ecampus customer care and they have not responded. I have now sent a complain to the U.S internet anti- fraud unit to deal with the matter.
I would advise anyone not to shop with this internet thieves. Ecampus shame on you, know that you are short lived.
I will do anything even if is to bewitch then or use any powerful witchcraft to teach them a lesson.
HORRIBLE Customer Service...BEWARE!!! by bwisniewski81 ,Sep 21 '09
I "rented" a book from ecampus over a month ago and chose UPS 2-day delivery. Well...still waiting! I called UPS and they did an investigation and confirmed that they delivered it to the correct address...the Ecampus in Lexington, KY, which is where I happen to live as well. Apparently my book was drop-shipped from another location and the idiots sent it to the warehouse instead of my address. So, I e-mailed ecampus and of course received NO answer. Then I called and was told that I had to wait an additional ten days for an investigation. After the ten days and still not hearing from them, I called again. Sure enough, they have my book that I paid $78.00 for. She stated that it would take and additional 2-10 days for me to receive my refund. Twelve days later...NOTHING! I'm calling tomorrow and putting an end to this nonsense. Thanks ecampus for stealing my book and my money.
I also mailed several of my textbooks for buyback, at the end of January 2006. Well it's July 2006, and despite contacting them 3 times to ask where my check is, I still haven't received it, and don't hold out any hope. Same line, every time "we're behind in check processing due to overwhelming demand, so checks will be x-y weeks late" (substitute 'x-y' for whatever time period they chose in each subsequent email!). What a scam. Meanwhile they are holding our money and earning interest on it. Furthermore, since I sent them an email threatening to take legal action over the incident, I cannot reach their website from my home computer. What a reputable company...
Four months after shipping a buyback order (two boxes of books) to ecampus.com, they have still not issued payment. The best word I can think of for their business practice is FRAUDULENT. Don't do business with them.
Horrible - stay away there are plenty of better services by cmgklg ,Oct 06 '05
This is the worst online company I have ever done business with. They shipped the wrong product two weeks late. Then when I requested the correct item be shipped I was told in and email by an employee that it would take 3-4 days to get the reorder in because the person that does that is swamped. They say they have live chat - it has never been in operation in the time frame they advertise it as available. The wait time for customer service is on average a half an hour.
Don't sell your used texts to Ecampus.com! by jaybirdz ,Jan 09 '06
Yes, Ecampus.com will buy your used text books. They say you'll get your check in 4 to 6 weeks (which is about twice as long as their competitors take). I WISH 4 to 6 weeks! Here it is 10 weeks and they won't answer my emails inquiring about the buy-back. AVOID Ecampus.com!
SCAM ARTISTS! DO NOT USE ECAMPUS.COM by fitaries ,Jan 20 '09
An absolute scam. I sent them three textbooks in September and despite repeated calls and emails, no check has ever been printed. They say they are "having problems" with their "system". DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! You will never be paid.
Disorganized site and bad experience by student987 ,Feb 10 '06
Over the course of a month I sent multiple shipments to the E-campus buy back program. After three months of waiting for payment I contacted e-campus. I was assured on the phone that they were very busy but processing the payments. A month and a half after this conversation with e-campus I again contacted them. I was told that they were still processing payments and that in one of the shipments (over four months ago) that some of the books were missing and they would not be issuing payment for the supposed missing texts. E-campus started out well but I think they are finding fraud more profitable.
I recently purchased a large order of books from eCampus. The prices were great and received all books in great condition, right on time. I will order from them again in the future and think they offer great prices and really impressed me with their service.
ECAMPUS SUCKS -- BUYER BEWARE!! by gidget63 ,Jul 17 '06
Ordered books 6/8/06. Charge card charged on 6/8/06 when books shipped. Called on 6/15/06 to say books did not arrive. Company told me to wait until 7/7/06. Called on 7/12 to say I did not receive books. Company issues a trace and tells me I have to wait until 7/26/06. BASICALLY, COMPANY GETS TO KEEP MY MONEY FOR 50+ DAYS WITHOUT DELIVERING PRODUCT. This is a high volume shipper, however, they cannot get results from a trace placed on 7/12 until 7/16/06. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.
Great prices and selection- a one stop shop for students! by bullgator405 ,Jan 08 '04
This website rocks! They are the cheapest place to buy my textbooks 90% of the time. They also have a good selection of apparel and DVD's too. I have ordered from them about a dozen times now and always had good service. I do recommend using the UPS Ground shipping option instead of the free US Postal Service shipping. It is only a couple bucks more and MUCH faster- well worth it. I highly recommend this site for college students like myself or anyone else on a tight budget. Peace
Ordered 2 books; paid decent prices but high shipping. Rec'd one book on time (but not too fast). Waited on the other...waited...waited. Finally contacted Customer Service... only to find out that they couldn't find the book (some excuse about losing a supplier). They never contacted me about this. They said they had no idea when they would ship this book. I canceled the order and rec'd timely feedback on the cancellation. Won't use again.
Very Poor Book Buyback Experience by fredwash ,Feb 20 '06
I sent in my books using the pre-paid label. It seemed easy enough. Eventually, the online status said a check had been issued. After more than a month, I had not received a check. I contacted them and did not receive a response for over a couple of weeks. I then called them and they said it would be 12-14 weeks to send the check instead of the 4-6 weeks which was still listed on their website. They even acknowledged that they tripled the time that they had originally committed to. When I asked that they just ship the books back to me, they said they had probably sold the books. They had no explanation why they would have already sold the books and be unable to issue a check for them. I wish I had read the reviews here first to see how disreputable they can be.
Don't send these people your books. by sswiff ,Oct 23 '08
I sent three like new books and was told I would be paid in 4-6 weeks. It's been 10 weeks and I still havent received payment. After a Google search it seems they have done this to alot of people.
What a bunch of IDIOTS! I bought a book 3 weeks ago,my son has been so patiently waiting.Today I get an email from ecampus telling me they cant find the book and credited me a refund!GEE THANKS @HOLES WORSE SERVOUS EVER.
Very dissatisfied with the service. Crooks out to get your money. by ireland2661 ,Aug 16 '05
I ordered a music book with CD-ROM.They changed my original order and I never got my CD-ROM with the book and they never adjusted the price either. I rang them, waited 30 minutes to speak with someone. Never got an apology. I am now returning book and never purchasing from e-campus again.
ECampus seems to have NO books in stock! by jg0339 ,Jun 30 '08
eCampus' book prices are too good to be true! I definitely found lowest prices on eCampus & BiggerBooks websites - unfortunately neither site actually carries the books that they claim are in stock. They never let you know this, you have to ask, then just get a very vague "we will get your book for you, just have no idea when the due date will be". (Beware also of affiliate: BiggerBooks)
HORRIBLE COMPANY, RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by tjdavila ,Nov 29 '05
A RIP OFF DOES NOT PAY YOU FOR YOUR BOOKS. I SENT MY BOOKS OVER 3 MONTHS AGO AND STILL NO CHECK!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND LIES!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! ITS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3 months and counting to be paid for a textbook buyback!!! by messner ,Jan 03 '06
I've used ecampus in the past and never had a real problem with them. My last two transaction have been horrible. I had two buybacks for textbooks. It took almost 3 months to receive payment for the first and it has been over 3 months for the second, and I still haven't been paid. I've sent numerous emails, but get no legitimate reason for the tardiness. Just bogus excuses about computer problems and things like that. This website has deteriorated rapidly. I don't know what happened, but I definitely wouldn't recommend ecampus to even my worst enemy.
Dont buy from marketplace.Ecampus takes no responsiblity for books lost.Dont order from the seller collegeshopnow.com you will never get the books. should screen your sellers daily.
GIVE ME MY MONEY ECAMPUS!! by lildevillu ,May 15 '09
please dont use the buyback program from ecampus! They will not give your your money in a timely fashion or AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this company goes out of biz because ripping off college students is pretty low!
Double charged for shipping, could not ship two books together. by bfocke ,Dec 17 '05
I ordered two books. They split it automatically into two orders, and double charged me for shipping. Response from customer service was quick but no help whatsoever. Next time I'll shop at Amazon.
These guys are the worst e-company of all time by tluger ,Jan 12 '06
A horrible company that has atrocious customer service, provides damaged books and doesn't let you know when a book has been delayed in shipment unless you send multiple requests for information. I made the mistake of giving the company a second try after one bad experience. Stay away from these folks like the plague.
Avoid them. Not cheapest, Bad CS! by rob2372 ,Feb 15 '07
Info said both of my items would ship in 5-7 days. On day 8, I emailed about status. They "found" one, but were still looking for the other item. 4 more days, no updates. So I email again asking for ETA. They don't know...still looking for it. Cust service didn't even answer half of my questions. So I cancel the entire order because I found both items elsewhere (CHEAPER). But wait, they cancelled the item they were looking for but not the other cause it was on reserve. So I email CS again to cancel entire order. Hmm, no response. That was Friday. Also sent email to the rep who sent me the "form letter" to my questions. So no response, status has not changed, so I email CS a third time. Still nothing. But Monday AFTERNOON I get a response form three CS persons that it's too late because my order shipped. Funny, because it's Tuesday and USPS doesn't even recognize my tracking number.
So I'll end up with an item I don't need anymore about 3+ weeks after originally ordering it.
