I am fortunate to live in the midst of several brick-and-mortar Jo-Ann stores. The stores are filled with merchandise to delight any crafter or sewer’s heart. I enjoy poking through the aisles filled with notions, beads and quilting goodies. So ...
I love crafts I mean LOVE them, but I hate going to my local Hobby Lobby. Why? Because the people that work there are well.....rear ends to put it nicely. And seems like every time I go there are no people working at the checkouts- so it makes me tempted ...
Joann.com is the online store of the ever popular Jo-Ann fabric stores. I prefer the convenience of ordering online and have been happy with all my purchases. FINDING WHAT YOU NEED There are three main ways to find what ...
Pros: This is a crafters paradise. Good for all skill levels. Cons: They don't carry cake decorating supplies.
Wal Mart does not CUT IT as the local fabric and craft store. Unfortunately, Wal Mart did pick up enough business to put both local independent fabric stores under in this area. Now I can go to Wal Mart and buy very generic crafting items...
Joann is a site for things such as sewing and craft supplies. This site came to mind since I had previously shopped at the brick-and-mortar version of the store. Actually the brick-and-mortar store was mostly fabric so I was pleased to find a greater ...
I'm frequently sewing, so it's not unusual to find me creeping through the aisles at a JoAnn Fabrics store, usually with a child or three in tow, begging "Mommy will be just ONE minute more." While part of me thinks it's strange that it's taken me ...
I only ordered a couple of times but I had a positive experience on both occasions. Actually, I have since become even more thrilled and relieved concerning my first purchase on joann.com. Let me explain. I LOVE gingerbread men. ...
There are people out there who love Wal-Mart. I do not. It is a necessary evil in my life being basically the only store in town with the exception of the designer outlets all the people from Massachusetts like to shop at. Me, I end up ...
I’m not sure what’s come over me, but lately I’ve been in a crafting mood. It must be the overcast weather encouraging me to stay home curled up on the couch with a small, quasi-artsy project spread out on the coffee table and the hot beverage of my ...
Pros: Great place to find hard-to-find craft and fabric items. Cons: It's limited to those who have access to the Internet, but who doesn't!
Where do you go for great deals on fabric and craft items in your hometown? Being that Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts is a national corporation, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Jo-Ann nearby many of you here on Epinions. It just so happens I am an...
Do you love crafts? I do! I do a variety of crafts, and have been in charge of crafts for our church summer camp for several years. There are very few good crafts stores in our town, mainly Michael's and JoAnn Crafts, and they are both 25 miles away. ...
Good deals, Bad Selection I have visited joann.com to purchase cake decorating supplies. So far, I have only made one purchase on this website, although I have tried to purchase items on the site multiple times. The website is very ...
Pros: Everything you could ever want for sewing or crafting, and more... Cons: Can't actually touch the material so you can't feel the weight or texture
This is the most wonderful store that a 'real world' store has created. A lot of stores don't make the transition to online 'etailer', but Joann seems to have succeeded at it. Let's shop there and help keep them in business!
I wanted to make something for my child recently and it needed some fabric like felt and fuzzy yarn. I was also looking for fabric glue. I had shopped other online store like Fabric.com, they too had something for craft such as glue, iron-on velcro etc, ...
I first visited joann.com when i saw it on a click to earn site. Then saw you could get cash back for shopping there so i did an extensive search for items i would normally purchase at our local craft store.
The major problem I had with Joann.com was shipping. I ordered 4 skeins of yarn and one set of knitting needles on 9/29/05. This is not a large order, nor is it heavy or requiring special packaging. It is now 10/24 and I am still waiting for the items, ...
For the record, I have never ordered anything at Joann.com. This is because they have such a poor selection online. I recently started crocheting and bought my yarn at Joann etc. When the store ran out of a specific yarn I was using I went online,...
Ordering was pretty straightforward on this site but I did not see the manufacturer's item number to identify the item I was ordering. This is annoying because I had to rely on the picture (which was small) and the Jo-ann website description of the ...
I'm an avid counted cross-stitcher, and when I can't find the exact kit I'm looking for in my local craft store, I head to Joann.com. When I lived in Michigan, my Joann store was my first stop for craft supplies, patterns, and fabric. Now I rely ...
Love the fall season. Wanted to buy mostly faux mums and a very nice faux sunflower floral arrangement to help in the decorating of our home for fall. Found some nice sunflowers offered online and in varying stores but couldn't find any floral ...
As an avid cross stitcher, for a long time I have been a fan of Joann's brick and mortar stores, where I go to stock up on floss and fabric a couple of times a week.
I like to support local businesses and the employees who depend on them, so...
As you all know, crafting supplies are not cheap and they can certainly run high when you start to add things up! I live in NYC so there is a higher mark up on merchandise as well. So I looked to Joann.com to purchase my crafting needs. Their ...
I've had two people post to say that I should update my review to include more information -- even though my review was quite long. Well, here goes: joann.com is an online off-shoot of JoAnn's (a large chain fabric and craft store). However, the two ...
Horrible service and delivery time. I will never order from them again. I contacted Joann.com 5 days after I had placed an order to inquire why more order was still being "processed" and had not shipped out. They informed me that it was because the ...
Absolutely horrible experience. I have purchased numerous things online and this has been the worst website I have dealt with so far. First off the shipping times and charges are absurd. I live only 2 hours from where they ship and it took over a ...
I have had two experiences with JoAnn's, and both of them have been bad. The first experience was at a brick and mortar location and the store was dirty, the merchandise shelves ransacked and nearly empty and just about everything about walking into that ...
Pros: Sometimes they have good prices and coupons Cons: Poor choice of billing options
I usually buy knitting and sewing notions when they are on sale. They have good offers and coupons but sometimes there are not much variation in the merchandise, there are not many alternatives to choose. I would like to buy fabrics there but I prefer to...
I won't shop with them again. Online or bricks/mortar. by lyricfox ,Jul 25 '07
I purchased a Mighty Bright craft light from the Joann's online site.
I received the merchandise promptly, so I know their shipping end works right. Unfortunately, their returns process is such that I will never order from them again nor step into a bricks and mortar store.
First problem is if you order online and are unhappy with the merchandise, you're unable to return it to your local store. That poses a huge delay. Not to mention a trip to the local post office (fortunately Joann's does pay the return postage).
Second problem is the returns/refund process takes two to three weeks to complete.
I'm not exactly sure when this merchant decided that it was OK to immediately debit a credit card but not issue a refund within a reasonable amount of time, but Joann's has lost me as a customer forever. There are other places online (and local) where I can spend my money that don't give me this sort of grief.
The shipping was quick, although make sure you don't have to return anything, as you can't do it at the actual store, but have to ship it back to get credit (the store carries the product, so it makes no sense why the stores can't take returns).
The yarn selection is okay online, but the color swatches don't look a thing like what the yarn REALLY looks like.
The customer service at the stores is horrible, why I resorted to buying online. Guess after this, I won't be buying online either.
Excellent company that cares about their customers by maryakra ,Jun 17 '06
My experience with JoAnn.com was excellent. I purchased a sewing machine from them which did not meet up to my expectations. They provided me with a mailing label so I could return the machine at their expense and they promptly issued me a full refund after returning the machine to them.I would definitely shop with them again. They stand behind their products and they make the on-line experience mistake proof.
I do women bags, and at times cant find handles for them in Florida until I found Joann.com.....I was able to get handles at a good price and the workers were very helpful
..The only thing was that there was not enough handles in stock to fill my order that day.... but i was happy to find a place in Florida where i can shop for my handles....Thank you Joann.
Still haven't recieved order or reply one month later. by kuhlmanl ,Feb 25 '08
I had the same problem as several of these other people. I ordered some fabric a month ago. Still have not recieved it. My order status still reads "in process". I have emailed Joann's customer service about this twice. Haven't recieved a reply yet for either. This was supposed to be for a project for my daughter's birthday at the beginning of next month. I doubt I'll have it by then. If I could cancel this order I would, and NEVER order from them again. Horrible customer service.
My experiance with Joann.com has been horrible. It took 8 days to receive my package, because instead of just using USPS priority mail, which is what I thought I was paying for, they go through FED EX and then to the USPS. Eight days for a package to arrive, from MI to the state of DE is unacceptable, in my opion. Will never order from them again!
Definitely will order from Joann.com again. by welshcookie ,Mar 19 '07
I am very pleased with the order I placed at Joann.com. I did not need customer service as I ordered right on line. The ordering process is very easy and I got exactly what I ordered. The delivery time was lightening fast even though I qualified for free shipping and I opted for the regular shipping delivery. This was a most positive experience and I will definitely order from them again.
Never purchase in Joann,.com. They give your personal info to another company. by cleobia ,Mar 31 '07
Never purchase in Joann.com. I had no problem with the order I placed two months ago. Everything was OK. But what a surprise when I found out Joann.com gave all my credit card info to the company WLI, RESERVATION REWARDS.That company has nothing to do with Joann.com. They charged $10 for the last two month. The reason? I authorized electronically a "FREE COUPONS SERVICE". They said that after I finished my order with joann.com I clicked on an option to receive free coupons but (of course) I had to pay for a "membership" every month. I tell them I never saw that. Then after a while, they promised to credit back the charges. My big concern is: Why Joann.com gave my credit card info to another company? is that legal? please don't let them do that to you!
Tempted to order again, such easy access to fabric were ever you are! by williamsrabbit ,Sep 11 '06
By far more enjoyable than shopping in the store. I found the Computers very easier to work with, but then the task is fairly simple, all you, the customer, really need is to know what you want. The order came quick and the envioce was correct. Over all, well pleased.
they might have a nice physical store, but never, never buy from them through Amazon. it has nothing to do with amazon, but JOANN.COM the seller on Amazon is the WORST SERVICE EVER!!! i have waited a month for my stuff. i was told it was an error, and would the shipping would be expidited. IT WAS A LIE. i am still waiting weeks later with nothing. they take at least 3 days to reply to any emails to them, and the customer service people have no answers or help to give at all. NONE. DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY. i recommend Amazon.com 100%, they are fantastic, with excellent services and products. but this seller. JUST THIS SELLER, is to be avoided at all costs, unless you are prepared for a month long headache, and no merchandise at the end of it. there is nothing else to be said for them, except do not buy DO NOT BUY, THEY ARE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE.
I like their selection of Scrapbooking stuff. The site is easy to navigate. Shipping is slow, my last order is three weeks and still not here. They do offer coupons and free shipping at time.
Very poor customer service by fiftiesbuick ,May 09 '07
Customer service is horrible. It is very difficult to get a live person on the phone. The staff is unfriendly, and if you make a mistake on your order, they are very unwilling to change it for you before they ship it out to you. Very unprofessional.
SLOW shipping, no communication by mrsdarren1 ,Aug 30 '05
I ordered four pillow forms more than two weeks ago. I never received shipping information. I went to the site to check my acct to see if my order ever shipped. I was given a tracking number showing that USPS had accepted the package today!
Shipping that slowly is unacceptable in my opinion, and I will not buy from them again.
