The prices and service from Sports Authority were satisfactory,BUT the quality of the Huffy Calais comfort bike was not! It shifts rough,and feels shaky and unstable when riding,was not fun or comfortable to ride. Then the sports authority said I could reorder now that they are in stock. But since the order was canceled they can not follow through on the guarantee. Funny how it seemed to work out for them. My apologies to Sports Authority. I wrote a fairly negative review of them last week for not matching a lower price as they said they would. Well --- it turned out that they did match the price. When I ordered my product (Polar Heart Rate Monitor) they said they'd match the cheaper price, but initially invoiced the higher price. It turns out that they do that at shipping, but then credit your account. So bottom line, they did live up to their low price guarantee.

I would NOT order from Sports Authority again. I ordered an item for which the delivery time was much longer than any internet order I've made in recent memory. When it finally did arrive, the wrong item was in the box. I called and no one apologized though they did give a pre-paid return label and offered to send another item. It took nearly two weeks to arrive and AGAIN it was the wrong item. Again, no apology; no offer of a discount on future purchase, just return it at my inconvenience of having to take it to the UPS Store for the second time. I'm never ordering from this retailer again. I have never had such an unpleasant experience.
Got a $10 coupon in their catalog which I tried to use, not realizing that it was "not valid online". Apparently, when you call, all they're doing is placing an order for you over the internet! So no go for that coupon. Plus, stores didn't carry the product I was looking for. Took at least 2+ hours wrangling with a supervisor to get them to honor the coupon.

I have been highly disappointed with Sports Authority online and in-store service. I have a very difficut time finding my size in Womens shoes 10.5 or 11. I have been to 7 different stores in the North to North East Florida area with no sucess. I have tried to purchase the shoes online with little or no sucess aswell. I also have tried to use the promotional coupons only to find out that they exclude every major brand that the store carries. I have to say, I have tried to support this store but, I am finished with Sports authority! I would not recommend them to anyone. Prices are not great and the service is terrible.

This is BY FAR the worst company I have ordered from. After waiting 10 weeks for my son's baseball glove to be shipped, we found out the item is "out of stock". It's a "generic" glove - we just wanted it personalized for his 16th birthday. I could walk into any sports store and find the item on the shelf. I highly doubt that Rawling ran out of baseball gloves. We still haven't been "officially" notified via email or phone call. We found out by tracking our order on the Sports Authority website - said the order was "cancelled". Called customer service and was told it was out of stock. I will NEVER again step inside a Sports Authority store or order again from this company - and I will be adding my HIGHLY NEGATIVE review to every website I can find.

This was the worst experience in online shopping I've ever had. The item purchased was listed as in stock when purchased. But, I received an email stating a "pre-order" has been entered. Phone calls to customer service explained the item will ship. 5 Days later I received a cancellation email stating that my order was canceled due to "incomplete or incorrect billing information". Yet another call to customer service provided the answer that the product was discontinued. (RoboSapien) However, throughout this entire process, the website ALWAYS listed the item as instock & will ship in 1- 2 days. I will never shop at The Sports Authority again. This was the absolute worst buying experience I have ever had ! (BTW I was able to locate the item at another site, for $20 less & item was received NEXT DAY!)

I ordered a USC hooded sweatshirt for my brother. I paid extra for the "gaurenteed shipping". Well, after the package didn't arrive I tried to log onto the Sports Authority website. All I got was a message saying I never registered on the site. Once I called the customer service number and waited on hold, I was told the order was canceled because they were out of stock on that particular item. No one ever tried to call or E-mail me to notify me of the canceling. This store is the worst! All the customer service agent kept repeating over and over was "they should have sent you an E-mail to notify you".

Shopping at thesportsauthority.com was my worst experience with online shopping ever. I would never purchase anything from them again. Their customer support department is uncaring, not capable of following up on issues in a timely manner, brash and insincere. An order placed before Christmas was supposed to arrive in time for Christmas however their online shopping certificates which I was given had dates that were already expired. The customer service dept. did an extremely poor job of trying to figure out the problem for over a week. The delay caused the shipment to miss my Christmas deadline and their customer service department showed little remorse and made a very feeble attempt to try to rearrange shipment. The customer service department lacked knowledge of their product and when they promised to call back on numerous occasions they failed to do so...never again!!!

I just ordered a $50 gift card for my nephew for Christmas. www.thesportsauthority.com sent it in an envelope. When I got it it was totally destroyed and taped up. I called their customer service number and spoke to Ashley....she was useless. Then I spoke to, apparently, the highest manager I can speak to...Brent. I was told "sorry, there is nothing I can do....nada....nothing. So now I am out $51 (yes, they have nerve to charge $1 for shipping). However, they did offer to refund me the $1 for shipping and have the card devalued which would take 5 days.
Also, since it was opened when I got is there a way of me knowing if it was used? Awful customer service department!!

I placed an order for a small item on December 3rd. Every time a track the progress of the order it simply says "Located in inventory". The item still has not shipped and it is now late in the evening December 11th. I am sure I will not receive it in time for our family gift exchange on December 17th, if I receive it at all. I have ordered literally a dozen other things online on the same day as this order, or even later, and have received all of them already. I am extremely disappointed in the Sports Authority.com. I do not want to buy the same item somewhere else because I now see that it states that it is unreturnable, which is something I did not notice before placing the order. Overall, a very poor example of an online retailer.

Excellent! The whole experience was quick, easy and exactly as they described. I received emails when the order was received by them and again when item had been shipped. They gave a tracking number for package and was updated and delivered on time. Product was exactly what I ordered. I would order through them again in a heart beat.
1. I couldn't order. I filled in all my billing, shipping, and credit card information and a message kept coming up saying my information was incomplete: I needed to give a number for "give anytime" payment option, which I didn't have and wasn't using.
2. In the description, it said that shipping was free, but at checkout I was being charged $5.79 for shipping.
We ordered a small bumper pool table online Nov. 28 to be sure it would be delivered by Christmas for our son. The pool table was shipped by S.A. on Nov. 29th but as of Dec. 24 it has not been delivered. We have spent over 80 minutes on hold over the last couple of weeks, have sent emails and talked to support managers to find out where it is. It was supposed to be deliverd by Dec. 12th. SA can't tell us where the shipment is and they won't credit the amount back to us, so we can buy another present for our son. It is clearly been lost in transit. So SA may be spending a month or so trying to find out where it is first. In the meantime they want to keep our money. Visa said they haven't heard of such poor service before. We will *never* buy anything from S.A. online again. They subcontract out to shipping companies who clearly have poor business practices and SA could care a less. Didn't offer to give any coupons or gift certificates to us.

Two days before Christmas I called to see why I hadn't received the item yet. At that point all they said was that they would put a claim on the item. I never received any further information from them so I called again several days later and was told that it had never left their warehouse and that I would have to reorder the item and they would credit my account. I will certainly NOT reorder from them. I don't know how they stay in business with such poor customer service, poor order handling and poor follow up.

Hmmm...maybe it's just me, but if an item is out of stock, why does it take three frickin days to figure it out? And why am I allowed to order something that is out of stock to begin with?
One last thing: Customer service is horrendous at best. I called twice and got hung up on twice. I finally had to act like I was placing an order to actually talk to someone.

If you use a gift certificate, it takes as long as 15 days to get it redeemed after you wait 10 days to find out they are out of stock. If you are lucky enough to finally get something sent to your home, you find that it is smashed up, pieces missing all the responsibility of Sports Authority. I ordered a Telescope, after 4 tries of 'Out of Stock' issues. When it arrived, the instructions were marked up with pen, 5 pieces were missing and thier was a return slip included where someone before me had returned this product. SA doesn't care, they want you to just ship it back, can't be returned in a retail store.Over 1.5 hours on customer Service hold everytime I called.
Very poor customer service. I have placed an order and I am unable to verify the order on the web site. I have emailed them four times and they just send a standard email back and never answer my question. If and when I get my order I will never order from them again. It doesn't matter how good your price is if you are unable to fix a problem.

Sudden cancel my orders with no good reasons. I bought several flat basketballs and it is not worthy to return and there is no way to exchange even they have local stores. I was in the store for about 45 minutes and was not asked for help once, even after walking right by one sales associate at least 5 times…NOT EVEN A GOOD MORNING! This was a Monday morning from about 9:00 until 9:43:49 (the time on the receipt is an hour off) and I was never approached, or said good morning to, and when at the checkout counter, I asked to see the manager I was told that the manager wasn’t in. The woman who I asked said that she was the assistant manager, and when I mentioned the horrible service she VERY blandly said “sorry” with about as much emotion as a great white shark, then and turned away like I didn't exist.
These are tough times out there and I really don’t believe that there is one employee who cares about their job. It appeared to me, that working for The Sports Authority was the last place in the world they wanted to be.
Companies are desperate to stay in business, but not the employees at SA.

The worst experience I've had on the internet by far. I ordered a very expensive piece of equipment for my boyfriend and I asked that it not be delivered on a specific date (because we were going to be out of town) and of course that was the exact date that it was delivered. When I got home it had been stolen. Well after 2 months of endless phone calls back and forth with the Sports Authority I finally got my refund. Well, I tried reordering the same product again through them ( thinking they would be accommodating since they put me through so much trouble) hoping they would give me over night shipping, so that I could finally receive the package, and they were not helpful in any way. They refused to give me any kind of shipping other than standard ground! I will never ever order from The Sports Authority or any of their partner companies.

Ordered a pair of shoes on 12/16. Showed as in stock online. I called them 4 days later because it still wasn't shipped and they told me there was a glitch and they would ship it UPS overnight. 2 days later it was shipped using parcel select with an estimated delivery date of 1/2. I called them saying I will only be at my current address until 1/1 and they offered no solutions. They told me I can return it for a refund. I ordered a Superman backpack for my nephew from their website on 12/18/06. The site indicated that the item was in stock and would ship in one to two full business days. It's been FOUR full business days and the order hasn't even shipped yet. I sent an email, using their contact us option, and got an automated response. How unhelpful was that?
So I call their customer service line and she basically tells me that it's Christmas and they're busy so get over it. And she tells me there's no way to cancel the order, even though they really haven't done anything with it. Very, very poor customer service. It's the first and last time I'll be purchasing from them.
The funniest part of this ordeal is that I ordered an almost identical item from another retailer on the same day...AND IT'S ALREADY BEEN DELIVERED. Boo Sports Authority.

2 months ago I went into our new Sports Authority in Kailua Kona Hawai. I bought a piece of exercise equipment. They asked me to open a charge account so I did. A month passed and No statment! Wow this can't be free? My daughter calls me from Montana and said the bill was sent to her. I called the store NO HELP. I had her fax the bill and called the help line and COULDN'T SPEAK WITH A HUMAN ABOUT MY PROBLEM. NO STATEMENT 2 MONTHS, NO CHANGE OF ADDRESS PROCESSED WHEN I SENT IN A PAYMENT. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST I MEAN THE WORST COMPANY FOR CREDIT. DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE AND OPEN A CREDIT ACCOUNT. THEY DON'T FOLLOW UP. THEY DON'T CORRECT THE SITUATION. STILL TO THIS DAY I HAVE NOT GOTTEN ONE BILL MAILED TO ME. NO CREDIT CARD EITHER. SIGNED SINCERELY DISAPPOINTED WITH SPORTS AUTHORITY.
I would never undertake any business with this group again. Unable to get assistance from online ie email back the standard response I decided to call a store - Hawthorne, CA. I id'd that I was calling from Australia and was kept on hold for 10 minutes, was picked up by the wrong department, hung up on when being transferred, called back, only to be told that they couldn't help me, despite the fact that my sale amounted to around $1000 they were not prepared to assist. Happy to report that this prompted me to go to Tramdock who were outstanding. Recommend you never use this company.

Terrible shipping problems! I will never buy anything from this company again. We ordered a set of gold clubs and even after 3 shipments, we still never got the right clubs. They promised guaranteed delivery for Christmas but apparently that guarantee is just that you will receive a package. It might not be what you ordered! Simply awful!!!

Tried to buy Timex OVA watch. Advertised on epinion for $55.99 free shipping. Followed link price now $69.99 plus shipping. Called to ask if would honor $55 price. Told them WatchNThings
had it for $55.96 and free shipping plus extra battery. SportsAuthority verified this. SA said they would not honor price and that their price matching guarantee would not apply because WatchNThings offered free shipping but SA did not. Therefore the offers were not the same. I said even though I am willing to pay the shipping you don't want to sell the watch. WatchNThings did and it was free shipping and an extra
battery.
After waiting 10 days Sports Authority finally told me
the item is out of stock, although their add shows they
have 30 in stock.I would not shop there again especially
after speaking with a rep on the phone and was told my
order was being shipped that day.
