Great Service!
by bonneyattorney ,Oct 08 '09
The firm I work for has been using Stamps.com for over 2 years now, and it is a timesaver, in many ways. I previously used Stamps.com with a different law firm I worked with and I loved the ease and convenience if printing my own postage. When I began working with my present employer, they were accustomed to buying stamps at the post office, taking certified mail and packages in person, waiting in long lines to pay for stamps or to mail one package, nevermind the fact of their employee using company time to stand in these long lines.
After receiving a Stamps.com CD in the mail asking that we try them, I spoke with my three employers and they decided to give it a try, especially if it meant I was in the office instead of in a line at the post office.
To make a long story short, they fell in love with it immediately, and love the ease and convenience of printing exactly the amount we need on each letter, package, or certified mail letter, and not wasting extra stamps. This is SO much easier than the post office or using a postage meter.

1 CLICK YOU ARE IN, HOURS/DAYS TO GET OUT!
by revclaire ,Sep 25 '06
Awful experience because it takes one click to sign up then the trouble begins. Could not get into site too jammed up . Then you cannot cancel the account. Was on hold for hours and finally had to sent a threatening email about cancelling. Still waiting to be cancelled. Not worth all this trouble. If you can use one click to get in you shouldn't have to go through hell to get out. Forget this free trial and 5 dollars of free stamps you'd be better off to go slave labor and earn the 5 dollars than go through all this . Yes they have a great idea but as for customer service.. IT STINKS..NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE. JUST NICE MUSIC ON HOLD.

Terrible
by htatlau ,Aug 02 '05
Terrible.
I had to wait 30 minutes on the phone before I could talk to a customer service rep.
Then when I tried to cancel my subscription, I had to wait even longer on the phone.

completely unsatisfactory
by julyjustice ,Feb 21 '06
Stamps.com is a scam. The ability to track items is much more complicated than through the USPS. I have had an account with them for months, only because I have tried and tried and tried to cancel and have not been allowed to do so. They only let you cancel by calling. You have to go through menus until you get to the "cancel my account choice" and once you choose that you will never get through. I have stayed on hold up to an hour and a half and never get anything but recorded music and an intermittent announcement that all of their representatives are busy. This is the worst online business I have ever dealt with, and I do a lot of online business.

Use FREE USPS Click-n-Ship instead!
by stayn2busy ,Dec 06 '05
BEWARE....read the fine print before signing up for a "FREE trial period." You must call during the 28 days to cancel; if you call on day 29...too late, you will be charged $15.99 for the previous month. Be prepared to wait indefinitely on hold to cancel your trial period also. My first attempt after 8 minutes, I hung up. My second attempt was 5 minutes before the call was answered. The customer service were very condescending and rude. Why pay for this service when you can get it FREE at USPS Click-n-Ship?

waste of time and money
by twas ,Apr 26 '05
The worst service I've received from any on-line service. If you are foolish enough to try Stamps.com, be sure to use a limited credit card with a near-term expiration date. Be aware that all the "goodies" they advertise are only available if ("IF") you can get their software installed and keep the service working for at least two months, but you won't find this until you are on the hook.
If you have problems installing the software you won't be able to get technical support, because the number is only available after you manage to get their software working -- if ever. The number you need that they are trying to hide is 888-434-0055 -- you'll need this to cancel the "service".

Horrible!
by kelmom2five ,Oct 08 '07
Horrible! I kept the service for 6 months too long. I never got the promotional scale and only received part of the 'free' postage. I say 'free' because I paid 15.99 per mo. for 6 months whether I printed off postage or not.
I recently grew tired of the service and decided to cancel. Easier said than done. Customer Care (ha!) was beyond rude and didn't want to close my account. I canceled a few days after my billing cycle and was charged another 15.99 as a kick in the pants. I had to call back and be more firm on the phone to get those charges reversed. By the way, then I was offered a 7.99 plan. Nice of them to tell me so soon! That's still 7.99 too much in my opinion.
I don't recommend this to anyone. Just buy a stamp and save yourself the headache.

Do not use Stamps.com, total rip-off!
by sixfiveo ,Apr 18 '08
Stamps.com is a total rip-off. They charge 15 dollars a months to let you print stamps. Then I canceled my account and I had one misprint of 13 dollars. It took them over a month to refund that amount, but because the account did not exist anymore, they refused to give me back the 13 dollars. Do not go there, ordering stamps online at USPS is better.

Sucked!
by sambolee16 ,Apr 21 '09
Do not use - do not get involved with Stamps.com! They take advantage of you! They double charged me every month since I joined - claiming that I must have "mistakingly" opened two separate accounts! (yeah - right!) It was obvious that one of the accounts was NEVER used - but they advised me there was nothing they could do about it. I was a customer for 5 months & they would only reimburse me for 2 months of the overcharge fees stating "that was their policy". THEN - just trying to discontinue my account with them was a nightmare! WHY PAY A MONTHLY SERVICE FEE WHEN YOU CAN USE USPS.COM FOR NO MONTHLY CHARGE!l!l :(

Awful.
by bthomson4 ,Aug 11 '08
Signed up for free trial. Service is OK. You have to call a phone number to cancel, you are put on hold for 30 minutes, and then they have the balls to try to just extend your trial instead of actually cancelling it.
Don't respect my time? Fine. Enjoy the review.

Be sure you want it...canceling is not as easy as signing up.
by letteyv ,Sep 26 '08
WATCH OUT! You can sign up online but you cannot cancel online. You must call them and go through the hassle of cancelling via one of their representatives. I signed up a year ago, then immediately realized that their service was too much work for what I wanted. I remember cancelling (I could be wrong) but recently discovered that they have been charging my bank account for the last year. Even though they could see that I had never used their service they would not give me a full refund. Granted, I should have been watching my account more carefully but I still felt like I had been scammed. Their representative was very nice and they gave me the maximum refund of 6 months fees but I would just say watch out and don't sign up for their service unless you are really sure you want it.

bad web site for power-users
by ncscribbner ,Aug 02 '07
Caution Developers!
Stamps.com does not provide their sdk on-line.
The extra delays in getting connected will cost time and money.
Their competitors include DYMO stamps (no monthly fee)
and Indica.
