Forget the post office!

by springro, Dec 19, 1999 Rated a Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros: Easy to use, convenience
Cons: small user fee
Do you enjoy going to the post office? Standing in long lines? Experiencing the cutting edge of customer service (sarcastic!)? Of course not, which is what makes the lure of electronic postage so appealing. Many detractors complain that the $1.99 fee...

Way to USPS

by richdys, Dec 15, 1999 Rated a Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros: Extremely well thought out download and installation
Cons: Have to wait a full business day to get your Postal License approved
Stamps.com is a very cool and elegant application that if you are willing to spend up to a ten percent surcharge for the convenience of printing stamps right on your envelopes from your computer Addressbook is a slam dunk. Whoever designed this thought...

Please explain to me the advantage of Stamps.com

by poseidon, Dec 15, 1999 Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros: Are there really any?
Cons: Expensive!!!!!!!
I saw the banner ad. I clicked on it. It seemed like a great deal.

I gave them my e-mail address. They sent me more information, and said if I provided them with my postal address, they'd send me $25.00 in free postage, just for trying out...

by pweisenberg, Dec 15, 1999 Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros: none yet.
Cons: could not get setup and registered
I was at work today and needed to mail a letter, (yes, the old fashioned way) and I didn’t have a stamp. Last night I saw an add for Stamps.com. They said go to TryStamps.com for 20 dollars worth of Free stamps. Therefore I will by typing this as I...

Stamps.com

by mdsloan, Dec 13, 1999 Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros: Get postage from your PC
Cons: Limited to Postage Class
This is a great new way to get postage without standing in long lines at the post office. You are able to print postage right from your own PC directly on envelopes or by address label for bigger packages. The only draw back is currently limited to only...

Not a pretty letter

by ccoggins, Dec 12, 1999 Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros: Convenient
Cons: Ugly end product
Though the convenience of printing your own postage is wonderful, the visual effect of the postage screams "SPAM" and I want all of my correspondence to be taken seriously. The postage itself is a huge printed blob of ink in the top right...

Nice, but not for everyone!

by ichiwawa, Nov 12, 1999 Rated a Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros: Quick installation, free software, $10 free postage
Cons: need a scale, buy labels
I've been using stamps.com for 3 weeks now. I chose them over e-stamp because with e-stamp I was required to buy a hardware unit ($50) that would plug into my computer. With stamps.com you just download a free software. The installation was straight...

Stamps.Com -- It's About Time!

by pwood, Nov 3, 1999 Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros: Fast and easy to use
Cons: Takes time to get postal license, can't print envelopes with windows
What can I say. I was skeptical that it would be worth the service charges but I have been pleasantly surprised. The pros really related to the ability to quickly print postage without the need of the "vault" device from eStamps. The only...

A couple of clicks and no line!

by zookie, Oct 30, 1999 Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros: Customer Service, No Lines
Cons: Preparing InkJet printer to print postage
When I first signed up with them, I was a beta user. I didn't have any problem with the software, but made many suggestions to them on improving the product to support more than just #10 envelope. (that's what being a beta tester is about).

I...

Forget the Post Office

by JMB623, Oct 28, 1999 Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros: easy, convenient, no upfront capital costs, killer service
Cons: Won't let you print postage to addresses not in the USPS database(no mail for the Unabombers of the world), Need to have an Internet connection to use it, not yet available to people w/o a credit card (soon tho)
You don't have to go to the post office anymore, so it's time to sell your bulletproof limo, fire your armed bodyguards, retire your kevlar body suit, and sell your Uzi. No more rude clerks putting up the "This Window is Closed" sign when you...
