beware
by crude ,Feb 01 '07
Absolutely horrendous, after shopping for a discount price for a flight from NY to Buenos Aires I purchase tickets and insurance cancellation. Upon reviewed of the flight itinerary when, I received the confirmation tickets it was impossible to make any changes. Customer service is handle outside of USA and they really dont care. Customer service personnel refuse to give their full name and since they are not in the US but somewhere in India or Pakistan. I was promise some one will get back to me to fix my flight schedule which they never did.
They have me flying on my return from Argentina to Uruguay back to Argentina to Miami and to NY
.24 hours coming back to the USA.
I tried to use my insurance cancellation and I was told it was not good it will only apply in case of sickness or death. (Waste my money this is cover by the airline without purchase of insurance) I really wanted to run over that stupid magician figure they use for advertising
.I will never again do business with this outfit.

When the going gets tough, Travelocity says, "That's the way it goes!"
by rlajeune ,Feb 20 '05
I bought a round-trip flight thru Travelocity. Later the airline dropped the outbound flight and switched me to an earlier flight, which I won't be able to catch.
I called Travelocity about it and they said all I could do was call the airline and try to get a refund. I wanted them to get me on a similar flight at a similar time, but they refused.
After an hour and 56 minutes of arguing my case with them, a customer service manager named Keith finally said, "That's the way it goes." (That's a direct quote.)
I understand that it was not Travelocity's fault that the airline cancelled the flight. But you should know that once Travelocity has your money, they are through with you. If you have a problem, they will NOT step up to the plate for you.
Too bad. "That's the way it goes."

BOOK ELSEWHERE!
by greyhoundlvr ,Oct 01 '04
I needed a flight between Stockholm and Umea, and found a reasonably priced flight on Malmo Aviation through Travelocity. I made the reservations online, paid for the tickets and thought I was set. A few hours later, I received an email saying that Travelocity needed more information and to call them.
I have worked my way through a lot of frustrating automated voice systems, but NONE can compare to Travelocity's. None of the choices offer the chance to speak to a live person and none of the choices were appropriate. The first time I finally got to a point where I could speak to a service representative, I was transferred and got a busy signal. So I had to start the whole process again.
I eventually spoke with a real person who, after consulting with her supervisor, discovered that Travelocity has NO ticketing agreement with Malmo Aviation, so could not issue me a ticket! Before I could even ask, she said she didn't know why Travelocity allowed me to make a reservation through their system, but that this happened all the time!
I will never use Travelocity again.

Travelocity is nothing but unfriendly scam
by lenny70 ,Jul 21 '04
I booked two tickets for my fiance and myself today to a flight from Manila to New York. Two hours later received a call from Embassy that her visa will not be ready for the time of the flight.
Called Travelocity right away and ask to cancel the booking.
Well 4 hours is a long time when money is involved. They told me there is nothing they can do and tickets are non refundable non exchangeable and basically they don't care whatever I will fly or not since my card was already charged. I'm not rich person and 1400 make a difference. So now I wonder how they still doing business. If you are about to buy a ticket from Travelocity, please do yourself a favor DON'T.
Just call airline directly and at least they will disclose all the fine print with you.
As myself I will never use Travelocity again, considering that I'm flying every year they just have lost a lot of money, much more that they made of this booking.
The only way to punish this kind of behavior is to take your business to another vendor, there is plenty around.

Great Technical support!
by klundstrom ,Jan 13 '04
Travelocity has great technical support. I had a problem with a horrible pop-up when I went to their site. It turns out it wasn't their problem, but a problem with an other "pop-up spawner" program I had unknowingly downloaded. Their support sent me specific instructions about how to find and remove that program. They were VERY helpful.
Not many websites will provide help for a problem that is not caused by their site.

Good Prices, Easy to book, Search Engine Inconsistent
by zzz1324 ,May 05 '05
I have bought 2 vacations off of Travelocity. Both went through without a hitch. The prices on Travelocity were cheaper than the other major vacation sites. The only complaint I have is that the prices and available flights for the package would change just about everytime I brought it up(I brought it up 3 times within 10 minutes and it had changes each time).

DON'T DO IT!!! HANG IN THERE! THEIR SO CALLED "SYSTEM" SHOWS THINGS THAT ARE COMPLETELY INNACURATE AND YOU NEVER GET ANYWHERE BY SPEAKING WITH A SUPERVISOR - I'M CONVINCED THAT THERE ARE NONE! THINGS GET CANCELLED AND YOU GET NO NOTICE!!!! TRUST ME, TAKE YOUR CHANCES AND GO WITH LIBERTY TRAVEL OR ANOTHER TRAVEL AGENT. YOU'LL BE THANKFUL YOU DID!!!!

Horrible
by app1mxk ,Dec 29 '03
I used Travelocity 3 times. Should I write a review after first 2 times it would have been raving. However my third try was (and still is) a disaster.
I book 2 tickets at $400 each, printed the receipt with this price, received the confirmation e-mail for this price and was calm and happy until I received my credit card statement. They charged my $600 for each ticket! I went to the Travilocity.com, opened my account page and there my tickets are listed at $600 each! When? How? All my attempts to call and get an answer from their customer service failed. Nobody knows, nobody answers.
In short: never again.

Avoid this company. Use any other travel company
by mukakus ,Mar 11 '07
Avoid this company. Use Expedia instead.
Travelocity gave me a confirmed # for my trip from Vancouver to Florida that was booked one month in advance. When I got to the airport there was no such reservation. I had to paid an extra $400 dollars at the airport to fly and it took me 28hours with 2 transfers to what was suppose to be a 6 hour flight. I sent a letter of complaint explaining my experience thru e-mail to Travelocity since it's the only way they accept any input or feedback from there customers and all they do is send you a responding e-mail telling you they have deleted your e-mail letter without reading it. Avoid this company, use any other booking agency.

Learned my lesson.
by schmuff ,Mar 24 '09
first trip: booked 2 rooms. Got to hotel, only 1 room (for 5 adults no less). second trip: booked 1 room, 2 nights Snow storm (had to evacuate after 1 night). Hotel charged for 1 night. Travelocity charged for both nights and refused to refund. they also charged more per night than the hotel itself. Third trip: will definitely NOT be booked through Travelocity!!!!

Credit Card Scam - check your own statements if you're a member
by pandora23 ,Dec 29 '04
I have used Travelocity for 3 years now and have booked many trips and flights. I won't book one more after today. Today I was checking through my credit card statement and found out that they had billed me $79.00 to become an Travelocity Preferred Elite member. This is NOT a program I signed up for. I phoned Travelocity and they will be refunding my membership charge in 30 days. The lady I spoke to was also very rude and would not admit to THEM incorrectly billing me. If you are a Travelocity member and have given them your credit card number at any point to book a flight check YOUR credit card statements. And stop using them as I have done. I never even received an "I'm sorry" from them.

Extremely Poor Customer Service!!!
by lwheiser ,Jan 22 '04
At 2:00 pm EST on Jan. 21, 2004 I made a flight reservation with Travelocity.com. At the bottom of the confirmation page it states that 'When you click the "Complete Reservation" button below, your credit card will be charged USD 522.35 as quoted above. We will be verifying this information. This could take a few moments." At approx. 10:00 am EST on Jan. 22, 2004 I received a call from Customer Service stating that there were no longer seats available for the fare class that I requested (and thought that I had bought). The price for the same itinerary would now be a total of 764.35 - an increase of almost $250. I spoke to a different customer service person as well as a supervisor and the basic response that I got was 'tough luck, nothing is guaranteed although we don't really state that anywhere for the customer to see.' I feel like this is basically a bait and switch and that there should be some sort of compensation. I see no reason to use this service in the future.

Never, never again!
by daavila ,May 21 '07
I'll never use Travelocity again.
I found a really cheap fare to Orlando this morning but, when trying to book it, it kept telling me that the fare was not available. After several attempts, I found a $240 fare and proceeded to purchase it. Once purchased, the confirmation stated that the fare was $618, not the $240. I never got a notice that the fare was changed before the purchase, only after!!!
Customer service was useless.

Sorry travel agents... Travelocity was a much better deal
by angndon ,Jan 12 '04
I purchased 5 round trip airline tickets (non-stop from Pittsburgh to Orlando) for our family thru travelocity. I loved being able to see all of my choices (airlines/flight times etc.) at one glance. The tickets arrived quickly and we encountered no problems boarding.
I had spoke to a few travel agencies prior who were charging nearly 3 times as much for flights with connections and long layovers.
I am so glad we found Travelocity!

Pathetic
by csherman_2001 ,Jul 06 '09
Travelocity RSVPs aren't a problem, but a combination of their gouging cancellation charges in conjunction with their Indian Outsourced Call Center are a huge problem. I suppose they count on the fact that an impoverished individual who has had to change his or her name to "Kevin" or "Jason" or "Susan" will have less empathy and therefore strictly enforce their RIDICULOUS cancellation/change penalties more effectively than someone stateside. I would avoid at all cost utilizing them to purchase any form of "packaged deal" for flight and hotel. They purport that the cancellation fees are because the package was such a "good deal." Well I don't consider saving $100 and having to pay $778 to cancel a "good deal." They refused to reallocated the $$ to a trip at another destination and frankly just raked us over the coals. I am a seasoned traveler and clearly understand the carrier and hotel's constraints and liabilities. This is an example of extortion. I will not use Travelocity EVER again, regardless how "good" the deal appears on the surface.
