worst customer service department

They have the worst customer service department. I had purchased a package on their site, however due to some unexpected reasons, we had to cancel the package. While canceling, I was on the phone waiting for 120 minutes before I could speak to a person.

And to re-issue, I waited on the call for 45 minutes to speak to a person, and then she said she needs to forward me to the re-issue department, after staying on hold for another 35 minutes (total: 80 minutes), I got hold of another person. He then gathered all the information, after 10 minutes of conversation, he then said he doesn't have permission to re-issue, he needs to forward the call to the TotalTrip department. So finally after being on hold for 150 mins (2 hrs 30 minutes) I reached the correct department. The lady gave me a very high fare, which I denied to take, and decided to call later.

Avoid them if you can.

Travelocity Truly SUCKS

I booked air fares from Dallas to Honolulu through Trvelocity. When we arrived in Los Angeles, to get the second flight to Honolulu, we found out that ATA had gone bankrupt and did not fly anymore. Travelocity NEVER advised me of this. When I called customer service, the supervisor, Patricia, told me they did NOT tell their customers of this, because it was on the TV news. Travelocuty was unable to get me a flight to Honolulu, I myself convinced AA to fly me and my family to Honolulu. Travelocity refused to pay the cancellation fee for our flight from Honolulu to Lihaue (we missed the flight because of a 6 hour delay because the ATA flight did not fly anymore). I booked a replacement flight through Travelocity on my credit card and I am now disputing the charges. I am a VIP member who booked tons of travel through them. The customer service stinks, Travelocity truly SUCKS. Use them at your peril.

Mediocre flight reservations, very poor hotel reservations

I'm a computer programmer and I found the website to be less than entirely user friendly.

The flight reservations were adequate, but I will NEVER book a hotel through Travelocity again.

The information on their website is misleading.  I booked a "Resort Hotel" through them, and it turned out to be a sleazy motel.  (The kind where most of the patrons are named John Smith.)

Delivery was returned, and they tried to bill me to resend it. They didn't pay fed ex, so fed ex billed me. That means I would have to pay $75 in shipping ONLY! Customer service was terrible. On 3 calls they promised they had already sent me email that never came. They seem to have no way of dealing with an emergency complication as simple as my Hospitalization.

WHAT do they do that the airlines don't???

EASE of finding fares....but I, in an emergency, had to change my flight plans! OK, so the airline Travelocity booked me on charged me a $100 change fee. Fine, I KNEW that was the policy of that particular airline. OK.

THEN, Travelocity, for NO REASON and by doing nothing to warrant it, charges me an EXTRA $30 ON TOP of the airlines $100 change fee.

I could have booked DIRECTLY THROUGH THE AIRLINE ITSELF, for the same fare, and if I had changed it, would have AVOIDED this bizarre $30 surcharge by Travelocity....but, being a loyal Travelocity customer for 7 years or so, I decided to book through Travelocity!

I HAVE TRIED their call centre in India.....I have located their secret corporate Headquarters telephone number in San Antonio, Texas.......all to NO avail! I've been a documented loyal Travelocity.com customer for 5+ years (Preview Travel, before that, which Travelocity bought out) and I am NOT GETTING ANYBODY EITHER RETURNING MY E-MAILS or, OR, MY TELEPHONE CALLS!

Just got taken up the *** by The Gnome!!

Basically....just FIND, FIND the cheap fares on Travelocity.com.....and then GO TO THAT AIRLINE'S WEB SITE TO BOOK!!!!

Travelocity's poor service & ineptness cost me an extra $500!

I tried to book a flight/hotel vacation pkg. Too long a story to tell completely. My frustration was (1) with trying to understand someone ( 5 different people by the time I was finished ) in India,(2) the people could not access the same information I was able to on my computer ( told me a particular hotel was not available when I was looking at it as one of the choices ),(3) in the confusion booked me on the wrong flight and then had the gall to tell me a correction would cost me $300 because the reservation had to be cancelled,(4) had to re-book the correct flight/hotel arrangements myself because we are traveling with another couple with the same itinerary but by the time - 2 hours after I started this mess - I got to this point the price had gone up $100/person,(5) customer 'service?" could not confirm and book seats on the airline so I had to wait 8 hours before calling and asking it be done. I would not use Travelocity again if my life depended on it!

Tired of the bait and switch tactics of Travelocity. That will NOT get my business. They are only losing business. Whoever thought that this is a good idea should get canned. Goodbye Travelocity. You have plenty of competition.

I booked a cruise from Travelocity last month. In the confirmation page, it did not tell us the departure address other than saying 'New York'. I had to do my home work to find out exactly where the departure port is and how to get there.

The average time to speak to a Travelocity agent for the cruiseline is very very long!! can be hours.

According to Travelocity I was entitled to a $50 onboard credit but the cruise line refused it saying that the travel agent never provided the correct code.

I can never trust Travelocity again!

Travelocity's website was useful. The customer service the company offers is terrible. I had to make changes to my intinerary through Travelocity (I found out after calling the airline) and when I called customer service, I talked to a guy in India. To cut costs and maintain 24 hour service, travelocity apparently outsources their call center to India. The guy first said I could not make changes since I had bought a non-refundable, non-changeable ticket which was not true (I had talked to the airline 5 minutes prior to my call). I talked to another ticketing agent who had to call the airline directly to confirm and was able to make the changes. With the hold time and back and forth (India calling the airline in the US) it took an hour and a half to have my flights changed.

Also, the fees that travelocity charges can be avoided by making reservations directly with the airline's website.

NO HOTEL and NO REFUND

Made reservations with this company for a hotel in as Vegas. When I got there the hotel siad it had no rooms and no reservation. They claim that they lost it along with some EXPEDIA reservations. Long story short-- no room. Travelocity said that they would refund my credit card.
It has been 6 weeks and after 4-5 e-mails and 2 phone calls all of which ended with --"We will be getting back to you very shortly after we research the problem" but no one ver contacted me and NO refund.

This company SUCKS!

Reserving is great. Canceling: Not so much. The people who man the phones are preprogrammed to say about five things, can't escalate issues, and speak with a heavy (Indian?) accent. Outsourcing at its finest. The hold times can take hours from your life and I am still waiting for a $400 refund for a REFUNDABLE ticket that they say should come any time in the next three months (it has already been 100 days) Essentially, even if you buy refundable items for which they admit they owe you a full refund, they may hold your money (god help you if you put it on a credit card) for six months or more. If you have no problems Travelocity is fine. If you need help or a refund, you are in for a long, frustrating road.

TRAVELOCITY IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED

In the summer of 2008 I booked three one ways for Feb 2009 travel through Travelocity. The first two legs were with Continental, the last leg was with United.

When I arrived at the airport for the last leg my luggage was checked, I had a seat, but United refused to issue the e-ticket. Long story short I had to stay overnight at the airport and fly home on a Southwest ticket the next morning.

Travelocity customer service has been totally non-responsive. DO NOT USE TRAVELOCITY. THEIR "CUSTOMER SERVICE" IS NON-EXISTENT.

No customer service or flexibility

I searched for flights based on the concept that my wife and one child would travel a weak earlier, me and my other child would join them, and then we would all return on the same flight. I found itineraries that would support this at acceptable fares, printed them out, and began to book. After I bought the first itinerary, the second one that would allow me and our infant to return on the same flight simply disappeared. I called customer service, spoke for an hour with some $2/hour lackey in India and his supervisor, sent multiple e-mails indicating that I could document that I had printed out both itineraries and price quotes moments before this happened, and they still refuse to refund any of my money or allow me to book the second itinerary at any price close to the quoted price. So if you do not need flexibility or customer service, Travelocity might save you 20% of published fares. If there is ANY CHANCE that you'll need customer service or flexibility AVOID Travelocity by all means.

Almost always more expensive than a major competitor. Once it was cheaper, and after filling in all the information required to purchase the ticket, I got an error. Guess what: when I tried again, the ticket was $120 more expensive. The system didn't realize that until I filled all my info, including credit card. A waste of time.

A game of Deal or No Deal?

My Last Minute Deal was that there was NO deal! Today, I finally booked a flight from CA to NJ after so much site trouble, and rather than a confirm, I later receive an email telling me the flight is full. Meanwhile all the other deals are gone and the SAME deal that I booked is still coming up hours later. In two phone calls they say the site needs updating and the only resolution they offered was to refund me (gee, thanks) and then give me $50 my next trip - I'm a "VIP" and get that anyway. Basically, I'm not going to NJ this weekend and I am sick of these monster sites making out when their product and service sucks. ** Must Breath! **
