| Full Review |
I have previously written an epinion on this company. I want to let everyone know I deleted the old review and am completely redoing the review. The information in the other review was both inaccurate and out of date.
Review
Did you know you can get paid simply for surfing the web, reading email, visiting websites, clicking on ads and viewing ads? There are companies online that will pay you for time you spend doing what you normally do. The reason these companies can pay you is that advertisers pay them to get visitors to their sites. In return, the advertisers hope you'll purchase things from them.
The company
Desktop Dollars is a company that pays you primarily to download their viewbar and watch ads. There are several other ways to earn money and prizes with them. Referrals will earn you money. Listening to music and the bonus are two other ways to win money or prizes. The last two ways are more like a lottery. All of these ways will be discussed separately. The company has paid me and others.
The viewbar
The bar has unlimited hours and shows 180 ads an hour. The bar is about an inch high and works fairly well. The bar has a built in cheat detector. In order to get credit for surfing, a message appears on the bar. The message appears every 10 minutes and gives you the option to continue or close the viewbar. The continue option changes places each time it pops up to prevent cheaters from inventing a way to click on the continue button. The bar is fairly stable and works with other bars.
On the left side of the bar, there are 3 options. The refer button sends you to the referral part of their website. The help button sends you to the FAQ part of their website. The third button is home and sends you directly to their home page. On the right side of the bar there is a spot to click on the radio aspect of the program. There is also a button to click on the lottery portion of the site.
My surfing
The payrate for users is 45% of Desktop Dollars' revenue. They believe paying a percentage of their income works better for you. The reason is that the more they make, the more you make. Unfortunately, that also works in reverse. The latest amount per hour was about 7 cents. How do I increase the amount I make from my own surfing? The best way to do this is to answer all questions when you signup. Another way to increase your own earnings from surfing, is by choosing a specific channel on the bar. Advertisers pay more for detailed information on the consumers they are reaching.
Referral earnings:
The best way to earn money is to get referrals. What is a referral? A referral is someone who joins a program underneath you and you earn money when they earn. Direct referrals are those individuals that join directly under you. Indirect referrals are those that join under your direct referrals and other indirect referrals. Direct referrals earn you 15% of income. Indirect referrals on the first level earn you 5%. The next level pays 2%. The last 3 levels all pay 1%.
Paid To listen to the Radio
This program does not pay you in cash for listening. You can win prizes for using it. You click on the radio icon on the bar and you will end up using the radio portion. You win by clicking on the winning prize banners which read WIn,Win,Win. You have 5 minutes to claim your prize. To claim your prize, click on the banner and enter your user name and info. Make sure cookies are enabled to use this part of their program. If a red border appears around the ads, then they are loading too fast and you must wait for the ads to rotate at their natural pace. What can I win using this part of the program? The easiest prize to win is a $20 gift certificate. They are giving away $5,000 in $20 music gift certificates. The next level prize is $25,000 for one winner. The last prize is $1,000 for the member lucky enough to refer the $25,000 winner.
Bonus Money
The last and most highly unlikely way to win money is the bonus money. Four members will receive a bonus of $250 every week. The first 3 winners are selected randomly from the top 100 users that week. The last $250 is awarded to a member selected randomly out of 100 users whose direct referrals viewed the most ads for that week. There is 1 major rule with the bonus money. You can only get paid this bonus once a month.
Are there any advantages to this program? What are the problems with this program? These are two questions that one should ask when joining any program. Are the positives worth enduring the negatives? The answer to all these questions will be discussed next.
Advantages:
1)There is no limit on hours.
2)The referral structure is better than most.
3) They do pay. I have received 2 checks from them.
4)The bar has a preventive measure against cheating.
5) Stats' page is frequently updated.
6) The bar is fairly stable and works with other bars.
7) The minimum for a check US is $20.
Disadvantages:
1) Payrate is low.
2) It is kind of irritating to have to continuously click on the continue button every 10 minutes.
In spite of the low rates, I have been paid by them on at least 2 occasions and the bar works well. The bar works as long as you are connected online, which many bars do not. In conclusion, after reviewing the positives and negatives it's clear why I would recommend this program to anyone.
