I started selling on Bidbay looking for an alternative to eBay. After adding up eBay's numerous fees, I felt it was time for a change.
I found plenty of "small time" auctions that offered free services, but something just keeps drawing me back to Bidbay. It seems they are more in tune with their users than the others.
Their message boards are one example of Bidbay's devotion to their users. I've watched the site steadily improve this year partly from using suggestions their users have posted on their message boards.
They also offer free html instructions, templates, and image hosting to help you with your auctions. Although these are pretty basic, it serves the purpose, and gives you a little variety for your auctions.
I was aware that Bidbay regularly has contests. Right now they have weekly and daily winners. I never paid much attention to them, as don't win things very often, so you can imagine my shock when I received a $100 dollar check in the mail! Apparently I had been entered just for bidding on something.
The contests are not the only way Bidbay rewards its faithful users. With every positive feedback, you get a Bidbay buck. There is a whole category that can only be used to redeem these bucks. There are some nice things in this category to choose from.
I've had to contact them one time about a problem I was having with my auctions not showing up in searches. I received a reply the same day with their apologies, and it was fixed immediately. Now THAT impresses me!
So, there isn't as much to choose from as there is on eBay, but Bidbay is growing every day. The categories are expanding and more and more people are joining. I believe Bidbay will be the one to someday give eBay a run for its money!
