I got a $70 VCR!

I've heard the ladies on AOL raving about Mercata forever! "I got a $2 phone card", "I got a stroller SUPER cheap", etc. So finally one night I decided to swing on by. I was shocked and impressed with what was about to happen.
First of all Mercata gave me $100 mercata dollars to spend. These were good for up to 20% off any item I "bidded" on. That was a HUGE shock and bonus. Then there was free shipping offered on any item I bought. This was a GREAT bonus, since shipping can be a huge added cost.
So I went off and searched the "powerbuys". These are Mercata's best deals. They can change quite frequently. I found a few things I was interested in. But the thing that really caught my eye was a Hi-Fi VCR. My husband has wanted one for a long time but we've always put it off. Our anniversary was coming and I decided this was going to be his gift. With the extra 20% off, I got the VCR for $70 (no tax, no shipping)! It's a REALLY nice VCR and is atleast $140 at any store in town.
So how does Mercata work? The more people who buy the item the lower the price goes (until all the units are bought). When you find an item you want you've got 2 options. You can set a price that you will buy the item at. So for example, if there is a VCR you want, but you don't like the current price, you can set a lower buy at price. If the item reaches that price, then you get a VCR! There's also option 2. You can buy the item at the current price. If the price goes down you get the new price. So in my case the VCR ended up dropping $1 or $2 after I put in my price. I got the lowest price!
So with Mercata it's win-win! You can get the item at your set price (and it could still go lower), or at the current price (and still save!)! I love Mercata, and stop by the website everyday! I hope you join the craze!
