Buyers Edge what a HUGE waste of time and effort.
This site is a blatant scheme to get you to buy from an affiliated merchant.
Overview:
Buyers edge is a place where if you become a ‘shopper’ with them, they will scour their merchants to find you the best price. They state that you will find the best deal on most every product right here within their merchant ranks.
This is a ton of BS and a huge waste of your valuable time.
Usability of site:
To be honest, it is difficult to find a product and get a ‘bid’ from a merchant. In most cases, if you are looking for specific model of a product, it will take about 3 minutes from start to finish to enter in all the info and answer all the ‘easy questions’ to pinpoint your product. Not only that, but you do not get an answer until the next day (in most cases) This site is overly complex and it could be a lot easier to navigate and search. This site is trying to herd you into their affiliated merchants, do not fall for it. You can get better deals looking at www.mysimon.com. The prices BuyersEdge finds for you are way overpriced and in some cases even over retail. Be careful with this site.
Sellers also do not pay any commissions if they sign up under the basic plan. There is a Power users plan if you are going to do some heavy selling, and it seems pretty reasonable.
Ad meter:
The entire site is basically an ad. It is an affiliated conglomerate of online merchants who have made a deal with Buyers Edge to sell their wares at inflated prices all the while convincing you, that you are getting the deal of a lifetime. Don’t buy it.
Does it work?
No, for the reasons above. There are dozens of better comparison shoppers on the Internet, don’t get lured into this one.
Does it help?
Absolutely NOT. It will cost you more to shop here.
Bottom Line:
I cannot stress enough how bad I think these people are ripping us off. I checked out 3 items of varying price ranges and typically the items were listed at 20% more than I could find on my own on the net.
If you need comparison shopping try www.mysimon.com, it is much better and not directly affiliated with the merchants that are listed. They should be ashamed of themselves.. This is another Mercata BS site.
