Being that I am a work from home mom, I do get bored rather easily. I try out online casino's to pass the time and make a little more money. Generally I go with casino's offering match deposits, or some other type of offer I can't refuse. Wild Wild West Frontier Casino really wasn't offering a deal, but I was really bored on one particular day. I signed up and am still asking myself why.
A Little Background Info

Wild Wild West is based in Antigua and is regulated by their laws. PLEASE don't be fooled by this. Just because a place is licensed and regulated doesn't mean it is checked on or even enforced. Always use care when seeking a online casino. You can see my other online casino reviews to know why. They claim to have the highest payouts, higher than other online casino's. This is something you also should not fall for. Almost all of the online betting services now throw the same line out to draw you in. Hurry Hurry! Step this way! It's a rather sad approach really.

Wild Wild West really offers nothing more than other online casino's do. They offer a 10% bonus on your initial deposit, and some fancy talk. When you load the webpage all is well for about sixty seconds. Then the circus barker (you recall these?) starts up. It yells out the praises of the casino , step inside and play! Hurry Hurry! Well after the first loop this gets VERY annoying. If you don't do something about it, it will loop to infinity and beyond! The only way to shut it up is to close all your browser windows.

Wild Wild West offers both playing for real money and for fun. They do this in hopes that you will work your way to playing for real money. Just because you are winning playing for fake money , doesn't mean you will win playing for real money.
You can play via your browser if you are so inclined. They are Java based and kind of unstable. It crashed my browsers repeatedly. I used one computer with Internet Explorer , and one computer with Netscape Navigator as well. Both were the latest versions of each browser. MAC users will have to play online as their software is not cross platform. Beware MAC users that music is harsh on the ears.
When playing via browser you can choose between Adult/NON Adult games
If you would rather not play via your browser they do offer a software download that has you fill out a information form before download. The information form will ask you for the following :
- Select a Username
- Select a password and confirm
- First and Last Name
- Date of Birth
- Address (Street , City , State , Zip)
- Country and or Province
- Home and work phone Number
- Valid email address
It is about 5 megs and took me 45 seconds to download on broadband at 100k a second. This should take about 15-20 minutes on a modem. The download server was pretty fast and did not lag or time out. In order to use their software you will also need Direct X. This is a requirement in order to play. If you don't have this already, expect to wait a little longer before playing. You will have to locate the software from microsoft, download and install it. It's not a big deal really, but this casino is not worth the extra effort.
Logging In, Game Play
Since you already signed up before when registering to download the software you are set. Simply log in with the username and password you selected before. Select how you want to play either for real or for fun. This will bring you to a screen that shows you the games you can play.
This is only a lite version of the software. It only comes with 4 games. You will have to download the rest one at a time. The four you can play immediately are :
- BlackJack ($5.00 minimum bet)
- Pai Gow Poker ($5.00 minimum bet)
- Gold Rush Slots (0.05 minimum bet)
- Jacks Video Poker (0.05 minimum bet)
This is pretty annoying let me tell you. If you are on a modem and waited all that time to download 4 games you are going to be pretty angry. If you want to download more games you will have to do so one at a time. Each time you add a new game the software will be closed while a patch is downloaded to add the new game. This means you will be downloading and restarting a lot.
You want graphics , well they got em...They didn't say they were good....
Graphically speaking this is the pits. The total pits. Things run together and are very splotchy. The games themselves look great until you start to play. There in lies the problem. I found myself getting very annoyed and laughing at the same time. I wondered why I fell for this casino, and why I was still there. Laughing at myself for wasting my money. This was not the result of my computer. I have a top of the line AMD processor based computer with all the trimmings. The graphics looked the same on my friends Pentium as well. It's a shame that for a download so large the graphics are so stale and bad
Ok then how about the sound and casino feel ?
The sound was nothing special, and reminded me of a gameboy to be quite honest. You can mess around with the sound and change the effects and tone within the game software. This only really makes it more nasty. This has no casino feel at all. NONE
Well was it at least stable and fluid ?
Stability was fairly decent. I only had real problems with stability when trying to play it with my Internet browsers. The software did not cause any errors, blue screens, or quit unexpectedly. I did find that the software was slow and sluggish however. This made me scream at my screen numerous times to 'just get on with it!'
Customer Service? Did you win?
They got brownie points , then lost them
The customer service team took a pretty good while to answer my tester e-mails. Two days to be exact. Although when they did answer it, they were nice and helpful. Even still, two days is much too long to wait for a answer via e-mail. I never really could get through to the toll free 800 number either. I either would never connect , or connect and the connection dropped.
It took me about a two weeks to get my 10% bonus on my deposit as well. I had to e-mail them more than a few times demanding it. It didn't show up in my account at all, and only after lots of prodding did I get it.
I sadly did not win anything big. It was all few and far between. When I did win the amount was so small it was not really worth cashing out. I chalked this up as a total loss. Hey you win some you lose some. I wish I could tell you how long it took to get my winnings and where they came from like in other reviews. I can't this time. I can however tell you that the free software CD they offer at signup still has not arrived some 3 months later. I e-mailed them and they always state that it is in fact on the way. It's no big loss really, as I don't expect to play there again.
The Cheapskate cries
Whether I would have won or lost here I would have reviewed it the same. I don't think it is that hard to provide me with a graphically pleasing gaming environment, and good customer service. This casino fails on all both levels. I would not play here again if even given a free money offer.
I don't recommend that you run out and try this either. In fact I say run the other direction. You won't be missing out on anything, and will still have your money. There are other options out there, don't settle!
