I joined All Advantage in February and sent the link to a few friends as well. I began accruing money - slowly, but surely. Mainly, I couldn't get my friends to recruit more people to download the software. Thus, I wasn't making huge amounts of money. But it was still acceptable. The joining guidelines indicated that once you reach 20 dollars (if you're surfing by yourself without any other members, this is about 40 hours of surfing, but there's a limit of 25 hours (i think) a month for which you can be paid) you will receive a check automatically the next month. This has never happened. This is the first problem I have with this site.
In a nutshell, the All Advantage software is annoying. Very, very annoying. You have a smallish viewbar on the bottom of your screen which continually scrolls advertisements. This may not sound too terrible, but if you are using a laptop(as I do) it encroaches a relatively significant amount on your screen. Also, the viewbar software will cause your computer to run much more slowly. Several of the websites I regularly visit (like my city's newspaper's homepage) simply do NOT even load with the viewbar running. I have a 56K modem, so my computer shouldn't be at fault. I found myself frequently quitting the viewbar to have quicker access to websites. Of course this cuts down on the money you are earning, but increases wasted time and frustration. The viewbar also caused my entire computer to crash or freeze up on occasion. Since uninstalling the viewbar software, this has not happened once.
A friend who also downloaded the software on a Mac with a DSL connection found similar problems. Since a DSL connection was slowed measurably with this horrendous software, it leads me to believe the software is at fault...not the computer.
But, perhaps the biggest problem is this: recently All Advantage decided they couldn't handle sending out as many checks as their current money-earning schedule dictated. Thus, they suddenly decided to up the requirement to 30 dollars earned from surfing before a check was issued. This made me quite angry. Because of the aforementioned problems the viewbar software caused me, I uninstalled it (with tremendous relief and satisfaction) as soon as I reached the 20 dollar plateau. Now I have learned I will never get a check at all - because I certainly will not use the software any more to reach the new 30 dollar plateau! I have sent several emails to the company about this, but I have only received form letters in return which do not even address my complaint. The latest email I received stated that all my surfing will be nullified and I'll have to start over from zero dollars if I ended my membership. However, I never ended my membership for that reason - I simply uninstalled the software, but the customer service department did not even bother to read my email closely enough to address my actual problem.
That also troubles me. If someone (like me and many others I would imagine) has had enough of the software, but puts up with it long enough (in my case 3 months) to earn his or her 20 dollars and then quits the service, isn't this person still entitled to the 20 dollars for all of the annoyance and frustration he or she has put up with? I certainly think so, but apparently, All Advantage does not.
Another example of a company growing beyond its means with no regard for its clients.
All Advantage - not worth the hassle!
