Are you a card person? By this I mean, are you one of those people who enjoys keeping in contact with friends and loved ones through the mail? I definitely am, but with the rising cost of postage, and the amount of time I spend on the computer I find it hard to keep up with my "keeping up" as well as I should. This is why I find the Blue Mountain cards site so wonderful! It's free, fast and easy.
When you log on to the Bluemountain.com website, you will be greeted by a design to coordinate with whatever holiday is near. I logged on just now to find nice fall leaves and a fat turkey! The site is very easy to navigate, though upon first glance it can appear overwhelming because there is so much to look through before designing your card! On the left side of the screen there is a handy calendar filled with any holiday you can imagine; obscure or foreign, it doesn't matter, they have it! Now you have no excuse for missing a holiday. They even have a delayed send feature that allows you to compose a card a week before they actually send it to your recipient.
Another nice feature of this site is that they can send cards in nine different languages, including German, French, Italian and Japanese. You can also keep your own address book there filled with email addresses of people you send e-cards to the most. This comes in very handy when you are in a hurry to make a card. They also offer free email at this site, so you could make it your home page. Another neat feature they offer is free screensavers. These are cute and lots of fun, too.
As I said earlier, they offer cards for any occasion you can possibly conceive. Some of the site favorites include Birthday, Send a Hug or a Kiss, Pets, Thanks, Say Hi and Missing You. Under the New Cards button I saw one called "Who let the Dogs Out?" like the new song by the Baja Men. It was really adorable!
Want more than just an e-card? Here are a few of the extras you can get for your honey:
* Express Cards: These you can make in a hurry, but they are really wonderful. They are animated and have music added. The one I made was even interactive. You could click on a point to make a bird feeder appear and as I moved it around the page, 5 hummingbirds followed.
* Video Card: These look like mini-home movies with a twist! The one I made was of a little girl lounging in a lawn chair and the caption at the end read "Whassup?" like the new Bud commercials. True.
* Send Chocolates with your Card. It's true! You can inform the recipient that they will be receiving a nice box of chocolates. Isn't that thoughtful of you?
* Free Perfume with your Card: This was one of my favorite features. With the card, the recipient is able to receive a free perfume sample when they make a purchase at Reflect.com. I know that it's self-promotion for Reflect.com, but it's still a unique idea.
* Paper Cards: You are able to print these cards off on your computer. My family loves these since you can personalize with their (and your) name.
If you've never gone to this site, you need to give it a try. It really makes my day to see a card sitting in my email box, so I try to make one for a friend at least once a week. It's nice to be thought of, isn't it?
