I first joined qool around the time of its birth. The idea was intriguing to me; instead of getting paid money or given discounts for viewing advertising, I was given the opportunity to bid in auctions. And the auctions aren't cheap or cheesy items but rather name brand products like dvd players, palm pilots, 100 dollar checks, cds and books. at the time that i joined the auctions were going for very few "qool coins," the site's currency. So I decided to give it a shot and see if it would really pay off.
Daily you can get 100 qool coins for logging in, plus 25 qool coins for each successful bid (up to 10). It used to be that they had a downloadable bar called the QoolCatcher that popped advertising up every few minutes. They have since done away with the QoolCatcher, which made me worried that with no income from advertising the prizes would soon cease or decrease in quality. After about two months with no QoolCatcher, nothing has seemed to fail. They do offer 10 coins per dollar spent at certain sites, which i guess churns a little revenue, but i do not see how they can give away 100 dollar checks every day and huge prizes like portable dvd players every week.
I am not complaining, though. Since i have been a member, I have won (and received) bids on books, cds, and am close to getting a 100 dollar check. Currently prizes like cds and books go for 5,000-15,000 and bigger things like dvd players and checks go for between 40,000 and 70,000. They also have smaller prizes like 30 minute phone cards and t-shirts that go for between 1,000 and 2,000. And since they start you out with 2,000 just for signing up, it is easy to get something for free right off the bat.
I highly recommend this program for anyone that is diligent enough to go back to the site pretty regularly. Since the max now per day is 350 coins, it can take a little while to add up to the 40,000 needed for a check. If you just need some phone time or a t-shirt, though, go sign up and you can get one instantly. If anything, just go check out the site and see if there is anything that you want that is worth taking the time to get for free.
Oh and one added plus...I did have a question once and was helped immediately-the customer service is polite and very efficient.
