I take great pleasure in detailing the downfall of yet another paid to surf program. I once again find the industry is overwhelming the companies. In order for them to make significant profit, they must lie, cheat, and steal from their members. Someone forgot to tell them that only leads to no member. If there are not members, then there is no business and no profit.
Add Desktop Dollars to my now growing list of paid to surf programs to stay far away from. They have failed to keep their promises. In my view they are simply untrustworthy and a waste of time. However, I will give you all the details and you can decide for yourself.
The Program
Basically this program pays you based on the amount of profit your add viewing brings to them. The structure is broken down as follows:
45% of the profit for yourself
10% of direct referrals
5% of level 3
2% of level 4
1% of level 5-7
They pay out is for unlimited hours. You are paid for a month around 60 days after the month is completed. If you accumulated $20 then you will receive payment.
The Promises
They promise that this program is better because it will allow you to earn more as they earn more. However, they neglect to mention you will also earn less as they earn less.
The Broken Promises and Changes for the Worse
This program began simple enough. It followed the same basic path as the other programs. The goal was to pay $.50 per hour surfed for up to 40 hours. They changed that to be you were paid the scale above for your surf time. Now they have changed to an ads viewed platform. The pay structure has remained the same, but they show your progress based on total ads viewed.
So What is The Problem
The problems with this company abound. You can not tell how much you will earn. Since they are on a percentage scale, you can not accurately judge what you are earning. This means you must spend your time using the program in order to see how effective it is. However, since they are 2 months behind on paying, that means you have to wait 2 months to see what your time was worth. When they changed to the ads viewed platform, they cleverly tried to remove the hours used from your mind. On the account page, you no longer see the hours you spent using the program. This was a great move considering they do not even begin to meet the claims they make for payment.
You will not have to play the wait and see game. I have already done that for you. I spent a total of 9.12 hours surfing with their program. My referral spent a total of 20.87 hours surfing. I earned a whopping $1.67. Now the question arises, how much would I have earned with another program. Well, with other programs who pay on an hourly rate, I would have earned between $4.55 and $6.65. I would say that is a pretty significant difference.
Are there any GOOD POINTS?
Yes.
1. They have a nice bar. It is not the best out there, but it is decent.
2. There program does allow you to get paid for a referrals hours, even if they surf more than you.
3. They claim to soon be offering members the option to be paid on the Clix card. This is an ATM like card that allows you to simply go to an ATM and draw out your money without waiting for a check each month.
4. Two people who share a computer can use this service. You are required to log into your account each time you bring up the bar. This allows you to individually use the bar.
So What Exactly Are You Telling Me?
Basically, this program simply does not have the advertisers to follow through on their promises. They have changed many things to make it look more appealing. They simply try to take your mind off the time you are spending. However, the facts are simple, it is too much effort, for very little money. I would not be surprised if they do not last much longer.
