Mobshop has a great idea. They get a bunch of people together to buy a product in order to get the bulk price. Of course there's still the middle man of Mobshop for them to make a profit. Mobshop offers this service (of group buying) with free shipping and (so I hear) some time.
Mobshop buys these products from other retailer. It is not their own stock that they buy and distribute. This causes a few problems. One is their service. Quite frankly if they are not in charge of their own product it is really hard to control where its going and to whom. I've heard many stories of people getting the wrong product and it taking a long long time to get the correct product and taking a long long time to receive the initial product. In fact I was quite surprised to find that there weren't more negative comments made on mobshop.
I have bought a product from Mobshop as well. My experience has been a good one. I purchased Mario Party 2 for sixteen dollars (great deal). It came when the game was out for maybe a few weeks and was still costing around fifty dollars in the stores. I got it within two weeks after I placed the order. Perfect. So I feel that Mobshop is a bit of a gamble. You could get great service or you could end up cold.
All the bad stuff I heard about was from dvd purchases. Only until I read about this palm V epinion that I was aware that it was a problem for other products. And even in that case it was only a delayed shipping.
One last thing, Mobshop had this fifteen dollar Mario Party 2 game for one and only one cycle. After that they sold it with the lowest price around thirty dollars. Still a good deal but if you really want to get the best deal try to get the product on the first cycle. This could mean checking with Mobshop when a product first comes out.
