Adobe offers a great photo service. The service of which I am a member is adobe e-circles, which contains a free (abridged) version of active share, along with a meeting space for friends.
As for the photo service, I found it easy to use. I was able to upload photos quickly, they were displayed in a stylish format with a bright background, and I easily named the photos.
On bad thing is that to allow friends to view your photos, they have to join the service. The process of joining requires a lengthy series of screens and some of my less computer savvy friends have had trouble navigating it.
However, e-circles is so comprehensive that it provides much more than a photo album. It has on-line chat rooms and message boards open to the people named to your circle. There is a calendar on which you can post group events. In the game room, you can play a game of hearts against your friends. In general, it is a great medium to use to keep in touch.
I have a circle for my cousins, for them to post pictures and post the dates of family reunions. I have a circle for my high school friends to post vacation pics and to update major news like job changes. I even have a circle for a group of girlfriends who work on collective creative writing projects. The site is really just a useful tool for a good photo book or additional e-meeting services.
